Re: Spotting Support Group **Possible TWs

  • @stormiewinter I am approaching three weeks with brown discolored discharge. The shade of brown varies from so faint to a bit more. It has never been dark brown like I would have before the start of my next MP but I feel like it shouldn’t be lasting weeks on end! I’m just going to need to advocate for myself more because the stress of it has become pretty unbearable. I broke down in tears yesterday for an hour.

  • @misskimsue I’m so sorry, how stressful. I hope everything is okay. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

  • @mrskoz428 is there an urgent care around you? I had great luck there my last pregnancy, but I may just have happened to get a Dr willing to listen to me and my concerns and get me an u/s. Just in case you don't want to wait until Monday to go into your OB's office

  • @duchessofcambridge not today. I’m out of town for my BIL wedding and they don’t have an urgent care here. I think I’m going to go to the one on my way home tomorrow, which is about 30 minutes from my house but on my way home. I just need peace of mind at this point!

  • @mrskoz428 I totally understand. I can’t imagine the stress for so long. I was fortunate. I hope you can get in at the urgent care tomorrow and get some peace of mind.
  • @casattack @nopegoat, I haven’t been very active this past week. Just wanted to say that I’m very sorry to hear about your losses. Please take care of yourselves!
  • @nopegoat @casattack you are in my thoughts. The same thing happened to me this time last year and it’s super hard! Lots of love!!!

This pregnancy, I just had one day of dark brown discharge with cramps (I am taking Crinone). Anyone experience this? Dr said not to worry unless it turns red, but after my MC last year, it’s hard not to!
  • @rozpre - I had brown spotting the day of my missed period. I think it was leftover implantation bleeding or something. I haven't had any spotting since.
Is Crinone a vaginal medication? If so, that could be irritating your cervix. I took progesterone suppositories for my first pregnancy and I had brown spotting pretty much the entire time I took it. I had a little bleed after my 8 week ultrasound, too. My RE just told me my cervix was sensitive from the medicine and not to worry unless I had cramping with it, too.
  • Of course, the minute I feel like the spotting is done, it comes back. I’m so sick of my nurses not listening to my fears. I’m terrified. 😭

  • @nopegoat I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️
@mrskoz428 I’m so sorry for all the anxiety this is causing you. Were you able to go into urgent care the other day?
  • @stringofhearts no, I wasn’t. We ended up stay really late at my DHs house and it had stopped so I just took my sigh of relief and moved on with my day. Of course, I do that and it comes back. I called my OB and the nurse advisory line and balled my eyes out while they (the nurse advisor, had to leave a message with the OB nurses, which still isn’t my midwife) told me it was no big deal and not to go in until the discharge turns red, yellow, green, or grey.

  • @mrskoz428 screw her. I’d go in if I were you, for peace of mind. I hope you’re able to get in and absolutely nothing is wrong ❤️ I think sometimes those nurses see so much they can get kind of detached from it all but you can’t! Don’t let them make you feel bad for being worried, definitely go in if it’s what you want to do and will make you feel good. My PCP once yelled at an OB nurse because she kept brushing me off!

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I mean, I was literally in tears talking to her. I don’t understand how they can just let me continue to worry. In my health care system, any pregnancy related issues have to go to the TEC (ER) and the closest one to me is 45 minutes away, which makes it really hard for me to justify. While my phone was charging, the OB nurses called me back and left a voicemail. Of course they are closed now so I won’t be able to call until tomorrow. I just keep praying. I mean, I still have every symptom I had before the spotting started and have continued to feel pregnant, even took another test last week for peace of mind and it was still positive. I just hope that they finally listen to me.

  • @mrskoz428 I’m so sorry you’re still going through this, and I can’t even imagine how frustrated you must be with the nurses you have spoken to. Just stay on them like you have been. You deserve peace of mind, and they should be understanding of your concerns. Hugs to you ❤️
  • @mrskoz428 omg you poor thing! I can't imagine the anxiety you must be experiencing.  I would just go in. And i agree with what @DuchessOfCambridgesaid.  Sometimes they get so used to it it's no big deal to them because they see it so much.

  • @misskimsue exactly. The nurse called me back, again, but I haven’t even seen my midwife since I found out I was pregnant and cannot reach her via phone, they only send me to the nurses line. I wasn’t happy to see the call back, especially since they don’t usually return calls after 4:00 Pm and I didn’t call until 4:15. I mean, I am still having symptoms and getting new symptoms (hello sore nipples) but I have such severe anxiety with history of panic attacks. My panic attack meds are class D so I can’t take them during the pregnancy. I don’t think it helps that my MIL started telling our news to non-family. I have an ultrasound in 3.5 weeks. I may call and try to move it up a week, especially since I’m pretty sure I’m 5 days later into the pregnancy than they think and I scheduled the NT ultrasound on the last possible day. Deep breaths and lots of praying are the only things getting me through right now. And you ladies, of course. ❤️

  • @misskimsue glad to hear the us went well! I am sure that is a huge relief

@mrskoz428 I can’t imagine the stress you are going through. I hope you can find another provider who will be more suppportive. Thinking of you and sending positive vibes!
  • @mrskoz428 I would call and move up that appt at the bare minimum.  I'm sorry you are going through all this stress and without your meds to boot!  I would just continue to advocate for yourself.  This spotting sounds like what I went through my whole pregnancy with DS and I insisted on at least a doppler to hear the heartbeat on the regular which my midwives saw no problem with. I'm frustrated for you.  Please continue to keep us posted...my thoughts are with you.
  • @wishiwaspreggo that’s exactly it- the progesterone insertions. I am hoping it was just that it scraped me up a little, not anything more serious. Cause i think it’s too late for implantation bleeding if I’m 9 wks. I did also have a US, so maybe that is it...
  • @MaggieG183 @Stormiewinter I am calling the nurse back during my 30 minute prep at 8:15 this morning, which I’m sure I won’t hear back from until lunch at 11:40. I’m pretty sure I’ll be 12 weeks on October 22 so I’m going to see if I can move it up to the 26th. I’m not going to hold back and if that means crying and having my students see it when I pick them up from PE, so be it. I can’t wait until I can tell my parents and students and get a little sympathy going!

  • @rozpre - Sounds like it's just the meds, then! I literally had brown blood every day until I stopped my progesterone suppositories during my last pregnancy so that's probably it. Haven't had that issue now that I'm doing the PIO. There's lots going on with the cervix so medication can make it sensitive and cause a bit of blood! If your u/s looked good at 9 weeks I imagine you're doing great :)

@mrskoz428 - I'm so sorry you're going through that :( how awful that your nurses aren't taking you seriously! Any chance you can find a new doctor or office to work with? I had a terrible fertility nurse in the past and she made my experience very negative. Always rude and talked too quickly and brushed off my concerns when she gave me the chance to express any. I know how you feel. I hope they get back to you soon and let you get an u/s for peace of mind.
  • @mrskoz428 I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I hope that you can get an appointment for u/s soon, or if they won't schedule an u/s maybe just an appointment with your midwife to discuss what is going on. Just keep calling and advocating for yourself.

@misskimsue That is great that your u/s looked good!

@mrskoz428 I hope you can get in earlier but definitely move up your NT ultrasound if you think the dating is off. If you end up measuring outside of the date range they can do the test within, they can't use the results. My sheet says between 11 weeks 2 days and 14 weeks 1 day with an optimum time of 12 weeks (but to get the blood work done at least a week before). And for all of the time frames to try to leave a 3 day margin on either end of the testing frame but that the middle of the testing frame is recommended.

ETA: After about 8 weeks, the measurements also get less accurate (as far as dating is concerned) but they'll still insist they have to fall within the range. DD lined up exactly with my LMP at the dating ultrasound at 8+3 but then at the NT ultrasound measured a couple days ahead and even more ahead at the anatomy scan. She was a bigger baby (8lbs at 39+6) but not huge, just enough to skew it a little bit.

  • @kvh22 I moved up my NT to the 26th. That’s giving some peace of mind. Waiting to get a call back from the nurses line. I think they may take me a bit more seriously since my discharge was super watery, went through my pants, and was accompanied with SUPER sharp pains

  • I'm glad you're going in tomorrow, @mrskoz428 ; I would really put my foot down and insist on an US, for your own peace of mind, too. Please don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. If they won't listen, I'd find a doc that does  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • @meatballs37 My mistake if I misunderstood your tone, but your post seemed passive aggressive and insincere. Regardless, I’m sorry for your losses.

@mrskoz428 Glad they’re listening, and you’re going on tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you.
  • @msb615 I took it more as a "even though you wouldn't apologize I'll still offer my advice" - not insincere but maybe a bit passive aggressive. I haven't been there with losses but was over in TTGP with these ladies so that's my $.02 which I'm sure isn't worth much.
