Any appointments? Questions?: I had my first appointment (mostly just history) and ultrasound last week. I go again the end of next week for an actual exam/pap.
Rants/Raves?: The other night I delayed starting on supper because I didn't feel like cooking. I was hoping if DH came home and saw nothing was started he would either take us out for supper or cook. Instead he walked in the door and said, sorry, I forgot to tell you that (friend) is coming over to help me work on a project and I invited him to eat supper with us. Needless to say I was not thrilled with him. Also, autocorrect keeps changing crap to carp.
How are you feeling?: I'm so over feeling like crap. I'm still exhausted and nauseated, plus now I have that fun metalic taste that makes everything I eat taste like soap. Blah!
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: Dee Henderson has been one of my favorite authors lately. I don't read a lot anymore because when I'm into a book I will read the whole book in a day or two and nothing else gets done. I've been reading my kids "The Wheel on the School."
Baby is the size of a(n): ahh I need to DL the app and see!
Any appointments? Questions?: Not until next week!
Rants/Raves?: I am just ready to get to second trimester so I can tell people and get some new maternity clothes!
How are you feeling?: I was nauseous from 6.5 weeks until yesterday. I have an appetite again, which is great. Of course, that brings some worry too but I googled it enough that I feel less anxious about it haha. I feel bloated and am not looking or feeling my best.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: I've been reading like crazy recently! I just finished The Perfect Couple by Hilderbrand and loooooved it. I pick up books at the library just about every week. I also just finished the new Jodi Picoult. It was good but not as great as her others.
Any appointments? Questions?: Nothing new since Friday's update. Will schedule the NT ultrasound for 11/2 (hopefully) and next appointment is 11/5.
Rants/Raves?: Rant: So not looking forward to DH's 8 day work trip.
How are you feeling?: Not great but just always thankful not to actually throw up in the first trimester. B6 seems to be taking the edge off.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: Favorite classic is Pride & Prejudice and favorite chick lit book is Knitting Under the Influence. I've reread both at least a dozen times.
@alexva2017 I've read a book by Elin Hilderbrand and loved it but it was longggg.
Due date/W+D: 16 May/8w4 @fatmonica due date twins!
Baby is the size of a(n): peanut
Any appointments? Questions?: I called the nurse line today bc I’ve been having a lot of vaginal discharge that’s slightly off color and I was concerned it was a possible uti, although no pain or discomfort. They have me trying to get extra fluid and monitoring for now, and get it checked if anything changes/gets worse.
Rants/Raves?: I fkn hate being constipated and I’m really bummed that I’m already dealing with it this time around. (See what I did there? 😆)
How are you feeling?: much of the same, unsettled stomach until I’m starving, and about a half hour after eating it goes back to unsettled. Oh and drinking too much fluid makes me feel nauseous. Mornings have been getting better but late morning that feeling sets in.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: Harry Potter series. If you pressed me to pick only one of them it’d be the Deathly Hallows.
Anyone have cute ideas for how to tell the grandparents (ils) that surprise baby number three is on the way? I am stressing a little we were very firm about waiting for a third (planning to TTC next year) and I’m not sure they thought a third was a good idea anyways. Hoping to find something cute so it goes over as well as possible when we see them this weekend.
Rants/Raves?:
I have to tell the coach I work with, in the spring, about the pregnancy and I feel horrible because I am going to leave her short handed. I want to still coach but won’t be able to do long road trips (I coach at the college level) and I am afraid it might be too much of a distraction even though I know i could do it just fine. we are so excited about this baby but I feel bad not coming through on my commitments.
How are you feeling?:
Exhausted still! And nauseous most of the day. This pregnancy has made me hate food in a way I didn’t know was possible. I miss loving food! Eating makes me so nauseous that I’m scared to eat. But I know my calories aren’t cutting it I haven’t gained any weight, but my pants are getting tighter.
Oh and I have been both constipated and had diarrhea this week... lol pregnancy truly is a miracle isn’t it!
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?:
I am in a moms book club and I love it! We take turns picking books and then meet every other month to talk about the books and hang out. The whole family is invited and the kids play (we all have first graders) and the dads supervise while we get some mom time eat pizza and drink. Lol even the kids refer to each other as friends from book club.
We are currently reading The Godfather which I am really enjoying. Another book I loved was the night circus by Erin Morgenstern. One of my new favorites! I am also a big dork my top 2 are Harry Potter (if I have to choose the order of the Phoenix) and lordof the rings trilogy (the two towers).
@Stormiewinter I love seeing other people's cute announcements but I'm not good at coming up with them. I suggest Pinterest for inspiration. I can always find tons of ideas for just about anything there! Good luck!
Due date/W+D: May 18th 8+2
Baby is the size of a(n): dime
Any appointments? Questions?: I had my first appt. today. Baby looked great! However, my due date from the ultrasound and my chart (I was temping and know when I ovulated) is 6 days off from my LMP due date of May 12th & Apparently, it has to be at least 7 days off for them to officially change it. I'm sticking with May 18th though!
Rants/Raves?: due date issue above has me worried that docs will try to induce me before necessary bc I always go over. I was induced with #1 at 41+1 and went into labor on my own with #2 at 40+4. I am terrified of being induced again!
How are you feeling?: Can't complain
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: With having 2 toddlers at home, I don't find much time to read books that aren't made solely of cardboard! The boys really like Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site & Dinosaur Dance right now lol.
Any appointments? Questions?: I have an appt tomorrow. I graduate from my RE as long as everything is still good. OB appt is on the 16th.
Rants/Raves?: I volunteered a few hours at my daughters school and came home with a cold on Wed. I am still congested and have a slight tight chest from the congestion and stinks that I can’t take anything for it.
How are you feeling?: Nauseous and exhausted (although not sure if the nausea is from pregnancy, the progesterone shots or just all the mucous from my cold.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: I recently have been reading the plum series by Janet Evanovich.
@Stormiewinter - I hate food and fluids this go around, too! Also missing the days of loving food and being able to eat a normal sized meal! Good luck telling the in-laws. I have no advice but agree that Pinterest is the place to look for ideas.
Due date/W+D: 5/20, 8w1d
Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry
Any appointments? Questions?: tomorrow morning
Rants/Raves?: I’ve been feeling really anxious about my appt and getting bad news. I’ve had dreams about loss, severe abnormalities, etc. and just have this overall feeling of impending doom. I don’t know what has gotten into me, I think just that something feels off and has for a few weeks now. It’s irrational and I think that may be the most annoying thing of all because I’m usually a fairly logical person. I don’t know, I guess I’m glad I’ll know tomorrow morning how things are progressing.
How are you feeling?: Nauseous, exhausted, just a general sick feeling overall.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi is up there for one of the more recent books I’ve read. Also love Gilda Radner’s autobiography, It’s Always Something. Looking forward to seeing the new documentary about her, although I’m sure pregnancy hormones will send me over the edge on that one.
Due date/W+D: 5/20 8+1 or 2? Honestly not sure how this works lol!
Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry
Any appointments? Questions?: next ultrasound next Monday
Rants/Raves?: I got some sleep bras, underwear and maternity leggings today. It’s early but I’m so uncomfortable that I don’t even care
How are you feeling?: very nauseous still. But I’ve started taking ranitidine for heartburn and I think that might actually be calming the nausea down.
GTKY - Favorite book (or just one you've liked recently)?: I don’t know that I’ve read a book since having my daughter (almost 5 years ago 🤦♀️). But I really enjoyed the hunger games series even though YA books aren’t really my thing.
