Sorry everybody... I apparently don't know what day it is.  I'll leave this up anyway in case anyone wants to join in...

Anyone want to play Ten Things Tuesday?  For anyone who hasn't before, it's easy - just list 10 random things.  They don't have to be pregnancy related, just whatever is going on with you!
DD born PPROM preemie at 36 weeks on 10/1/17 after over a year TI,
then 3 failed IUIs, and finally a successful IVF FET.

Due with #2 5/2/19 after HIO once in my FW,
because apparently that's how life works now. Team Blue!

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds Yep... It's Wednesday.  Is it one of those times I can claim pregnancy brain?

Good luck with your test!!  And 4 appointments in one day is SO much, I hope they all went well for you!  I used to know how to knit and would love to take it up again, are you teaching yourself to crochet?

  • 1. We are flying to NYC Saturday for a 4 day trip. I'm excited, but really nervous. I haven't been in 15 years, and everytime I went, I had someone else guiding me and planning.

    2. DD is driving us crazy with this one loose tooth she has. All she does is gripe and complain about it, but she wn't let us pull it. It wouldn't even take pulling, I could just barely lift the thing out of there. Two of the three teeth she's already lost I've had to finish off getting out bc an apple did the first part. I don't know why she's so scared.

    3. DD has started Book-It as school and it brings back so many memories of personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hit.

    4. I desperately wish I could get in another u/s before out trip. We plan on incorporating it into our announcement, but I'm still so nervous.

    5. DD auditioned and got a part in the Christmas play at church, and we are so pumped about it lol. MH and I both did theatre, and we feel like she's headed down that path too.

    6. My dad is having a major surgery on October 16th and it's occupying a huge part of my mind.

    7. I have a serious problem with only watching the same shows over and over again. I don't move on to new things if I can easily turn on Gilmore Girls or Friends. Something so comforting about them.

    8. We can't decide if we want to move. We want to be in a neighborhood that has some amenities like a pool /playground, but the market is so high right now. Would be great time to sell our fixer upper house, but man, you can't find anything to buy.

    9. I really want to subscirbe to Sirius radio, but I can't justify that much money. It isn't linked in my car, so I'd have to pay the extra 5 for streaming. I need something other than regular radio though. It's so repetitive.

    10. I seriously suck at cooking. I just don't do it because I hate having to come up with things (and I can't), and I hate how anything I attempt turns out.

  • @GeorgiaGirl1230 I hope your dad's surgery goes well!  That's so stressful, my dad had major surgery a few years ago and it's a really hard time.  Your family is in my thoughts.  Also, I totally feel you on the moving on to new shows thing!  I'm on another pass through Parks and Rec right now, and we just sort of alternate between How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Rec, and the Office.  We're so bad at it!  But I think we're also picky about shows and we both don't agree on a lot of shows.  There are a few things coming out this month that we are going to try out, though.

  • @MrsB615 Our insurance won't even run the DNA NIPT blood test if you're under 35 - so I've been trying to convince DH to do that test as well as the NT scan, but the NIPT test is with another provider entirely (lots of research, but I found one with a reasonable cost).  I hope they let you do it if you want!  It's so frustrating trying to get this stuff done sometimes.  I hope you get another US at your next appointment!  My OB does US or doppler until the anatomy scan, then it switches to fundal height measurements.  I'm with you on the wanting all the ultrasounds, the reassurance is a huge help!  I've never heard of that on Netflix that your DS likes, I'm going to look into it!  We need something new for DD.  She gets the same few Sesame Street or Disney songs on  YouTube when we need a second to do something.

  • @GeorgiaGirl1230 I wish your dad the best in his surgery! I hope you have a great trip. I've never been to NYC, but have always wanted to go. I also alternate frequently between gilmore girls and friends 😂
  • @mrsdee15 no worries 😂 I was just making sure I wasn't missing something. We typically have 3 appointments every Wednesday for my son. Today I decided to schedule an appointment for me to make sure I don't have a UTI and schedule pick up for groceries. So, I just made Wednesday more difficult 🙄 He's in 3 different therapies weekly, one he's seen daily for about 4 hours a day and then goes to preschool. He has long days, but Wednesday is my longest due to the other two appointments.
  • @msb615 OMG little baby bums is the soundtrack to my life. My DD likes to watch Wheels on the Bus on repeat. It makes me want to bang my head against a wall. But whatever works to keep them still, happy and quiet for a few minutes, right?!

I'm impressed you all came up with 10 things to write. My 10 things would be more like #1-#10: I need a nap.

  • @mrsdee15 I actually learned to crochet ( I did teach myself)  before nursing school started, but I had no life after it started 😂 I used to knit, too, but I was never very good at that either.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds Ooof, UTIs are awful, I hope you don't have one.  I hope you can get back into the crocheting!
    @bluesky24 1-10 with "I need a nap" is a completely acceptable list!

  • I feel like 10 things is going to be really hard...

    1. DD1 has Awana on Tuesday nights which means she has a late night and always wakes up super late and grumpy as a result. She couldn't make it out to the bus this morning, so I drove her in to school for the first time.

    2. I almost vomited all over my keyboard just before my lunch today.

    3. We have a whack of beef in our freezer, and I'm pretty sure that at least the ground beef is freezer burnt. Twice, I've made spaghetti with it and it just tastes... weird.

    4. The grade 2 class made some beautiful signs of various animals and put them out in our school's learning forest. They were ripped down and vandalized last night.

    5. I increased the limit of books kids could take out from 2 to 3 and I'm paying for it in shelving. I have a great crew of library helpers, but I still feel like I'm drowning in books.

    6. I think I might go shopping for some clothes that will fit me next week while DD1 is at Awana.

    7. DH didn't realize that DD1 had worn her raincoat and boots to Awana last night, so he left them there. So, tonight, I'm buying some back up rain boots because it has been so so rainy the past little while and we can't wait a week to get them.

    8. Of course, that means it won't rain again until it snows.

    9. Sometimes, I get jealous of parents who work at the school their kids attend. I would love to see my kid throughout the day.

    10. I should go do my boatload of shelving.

    DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
    DD2: October 2016
    DC3: coming May 2019

  • @k2k2tog I'm so sorry to hear about the signs being vandalized, that's heartbreaking.  I don't understand how people can do things like that.  I hope your shopping goes well!  We just broke out the box of maternity clothes, I'm really looking forward to stretchy pants.

@bluesky24 I hear little baby bums in my sleep we hear it so often. DS also has his favorites that he wants to watch over and over which is annoying, because obviously I’d much rather him just watch it all the way through. BUT, like you said, it keeps them still and happy, and I’m super thankful for that! Plus, he’s getting really good with his numbers, shapes and colors (ETA: We’ve been working on those things, so LBB can’t take all the credit 😂)  Also, I was pulling at straws at the end of my list if you couldn’t tell haha My true list is exactly like yours... all the naps.

@k2k2tog FFWC: I see going to work as a vacation to get a little “peace and quiet” from my tiny tornado. 🤭
  • Good luck on your exam @eatinwatermelonseeds

@msb615 me dats are the best!  Enjoy!

    1.  I have been avoiding the this is us thread because I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
    2.  I just had my first appt and it went well, but it was really just giving info and meeting the doc.  I have to go back in two weeks for a pap and initial exam and for the life of me I can't figure out why they didn't just do all that to begin with.
    3.  I didn't get an ultrasound today, but I get to go in Friday for one.  I actually don't really care to have DH there because I'd rather he keep the kids.  (His work is pretty flexible - which is great.) I feel bad for not wanting him there though...its just more practical.  I will have him come to the anatomy scan though.
    4.  I also love to rewatch favorite tv shows and movies as well as reread favorite books.  My favorite shows are Friends (duh), the office, himym, greys anatomy...
    5.  I'm nervous to tell people we are expecting because I'm afraid they will be judgy about us having 4 kids.  But we are happy about it, so I should care less what other people think.
    6.  I wore the same leggings and t-shirt Monday and Tuesday, but I don't care because I was quite comfy.  I wish I was wearing leggings right now.   I got rid of all my maternity clothes and of course I regret it. There are no stores near me that carry maternity clothes without driving an hour, and I'm plus size which makes maternity shopping even more difficult.
    7.  I'm planning to make beef stew tomorrow, and I'm very excited.  I think I'll make some crusty homemade bread too.
    8.  My DH has been extra helpful lately even though he's been really busy.  I appreciate him a lot.
    9.  Every time I think I have to vomit I end up just dry heaving. I think my daughter thinks there is something seriously wrong with me.  She doesn't know I'm pregnant.
    10.  DS2 turns 4 this weelend and I have no plans for what we are doing to celebrate.  I did manage to order a gift online today.  His birthday snuck up and I can't wrap my mind around planning a party when I feel like crap.

  • @fatmonica I hate it, but I can't even watch himym reruns anymore because I HATED the ending so much. That used to be one of my favorite shows ever and now I'm just so bitter 😂
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds HIMYM was my favorite (and is again now), but after the finale I couldn't watch it for 8 months.  I anger turned it off every time it popped up.  We're back to watching it as background tv, but we skip the last season because what even was that??  So, so awful.

  • @mrsdee15 I know! It's been years and I still can't watch it. Which sucks. I hate they jacked it up so much.
  • @k2k2tog DD1 is at Awana right now, it's when I go shopping for things I need for the week at school at Wal-Mart. But today I just came home to chill with DD2. Because, so tired.

  • 1. I don't know that I can come up with 10 things but @zuuls_mom I ate 2 bagels today, too!! One pesto this morning and cinnamon crunch this afternoon. It was glorious!

    2. I stopped watching HIMYM partway through so still don't know how it ends. Maybe I'll finish it on mat leave? I don't even remember where I left off, though.

    3. DH is working late tonight so I'm picking us all up Panera for dinner like I did on Monday, but without the passive agressiveness at DH for saying he'd pick it up and then being an hour + later than he said he'd be without texting and me finally going back out to get it with DD.

    4. Everyone was super amazing at Panera holding doors, getting me a bag with handles, etc. since I was carrying my toddler who was in her PJs...and I probably looked like shit.

    5. After knowing I was pregnant at 3w+2 (took a cheapie the next day, FRER the day after) I can't believe I'm finally almost 8 weeks and have my appointment on Friday.

    6. OP thought it was Tuesday while I keep thinking it's Thursday. I'd rather think it was earlier than later in the week :(

    ...that's all I've got.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I completely agree about HIMYM. I get so annoyed when dh puts it on now I make him change it.
  • 1. Today in DS speech therapy he graduated to the next room up! Which is a very big deal. It means they see the progress he has made in his speech since just starting this summer. He was so excited to go! We stopped by good will on the way home and I let him pick out 2 toys and a batman halloween costume to just wear for fun right now.

2.Had my first ultrasound today! I recorded the heart beat on video for DH and now hes all sad he couldn't take off to go.

    3. I may or may not have lied to my MIL today and tell her I was running super late from my OB appointment so I could stop and eat Panda Express. In my defense they took 5 vials of blood and I feel sick from it.

4.I wish I was more active on the board. But I am constantly running to doctor appointments for everyone and forever waiting in car rider lines. And if I'm not busy with that I'm napping and avoiding cleaning.

5.I still feel like I'm not really pregnant even after seeing it. Like its still so surreal.

    6. I'm pulling the pregnancy card for everything now. IDC last baby I gotta use it while I can.

7.I completely love my new OB. I really hated the one I had for my miscarriage and my son. My nurse asked me today why I switched and I was just totally honest on why. Apparently its a problem with that doctor many women have had.

8.Pineapple popsicles with real fruit are life right now! I woke DH up last night from a dead sleep while eating one in bed. I may have been a bit too loud.

9.Shamefully I keep up with youtube momma drama. I keep following everything on britneyandbaby right now.

    10. I feel like my pregnancy is a dirty little secret. My husband and daughter seemed excited but his family seems like they don't give a shit. I also found out today that my SIL can't be my L&D nurse even though I have to deliver where she works because we are family and its considered a conflict of interest. So glad its not possible she can be it!

  • @psychobutthead #1 is SO exciting!!! My son is in speech, OT and ABA and the progress he's made is just incredible. I'm so happy for you and your kiddo. Yay for loving your ob. I love mine too. I had a midwife last time and I adored her, but the hospital I had to deliver at I was treated like shit by all the nurses. I've done clinical at the hospital I'm delivering at this time, and even though I didn't work in labor and delivery, I feel pretty confident with their nursing staff.
  • 1) Today is staff meeting day at school. Gross.

    2) Today is also breakfast for lunch day at school. Win!

    3) I feel bad that I am zero help at home right now but my nausea has been so bad that I physically can’t do anything.

    4) The fatigue is back. Not. Cool.

    5) I’m going to Perkins for dinner to visit with a family friend that I haven’t seen since my wedding, so I’m super excited about that!

    6) I miss my dogs while I’m at work. Imagine how I will be with this LO.

    7) I started this post Wednesday and it’s currently Thursday.

    8) Work kicked my butt yesterday between testing, the staff meeting, and the constant talking while I was teaching. I may have lost my patients!

    9) I can’t stop eating! It’s at least every 1.5-2 hours I am putting more food in my face. My students have taken notice. The countdown to telling their parents has begun.

    10) I’m still not looking forward to my BIL wedding this weekend. I tried on my dress and you can clearly see my blump. No one on DHs side of the family knows except his parents and brother, so it will be a long weekend of hiding my pregnancy. Not looking forward to it.

  • @MelissaMay82 thank you! So many people from my cohort have passed already and have jobs, and I'm stressing hard.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds Try not to stress too much. In the next couple of weeks, review material and do your practice questions (did you use ATI at school?). On Allnurses there is a 30 page study guide that has a lot of good information and mnemonics, just search (NCLEX study guide) and it will come up attached to several discussions. My best advice is during the test to relax and read the questions at least twice before choosing an answer. I took mine 6 years ago and it shut off at 75 questions. I was also in the first year that they rolled out the SATA.

  • @MelissaMay82 we didn't really do a lot of ATI, just one test our last quarter. We did NLN every quarter to prep, but that test was always horrible. I'm using saunders review book and uworld that a friend gave me the remainder of her subscription to. Thank you so much for your advice. I feel like it's so far away. I wanted to take it much sooner, but there wasn't much available.
