@leighbrek I was walking today and it felt like my hands were swelling? But not my feet. Not sure how that works, but I was super out of breath also and it was a casual stroll.
I finished OITNB today and it was sooooo gooood. I did not like last season so I was happy about how this season turned out. Also I binged Ozark in like 4 days and now I’m out of shows
I was sleeping sooo soundly until my husband comes into the bedroom at 4:30 saying the power is out. I of course am the only one who knows who to contact and try to explain this half asleep which I guess didn’t make any sense. So I just end up doing it and then I toss and turn until 6am because he decides he can’t live without coffee and runs to Starbucks which just confuses the dogs and makes them restless..
@bradleysmommy28 ugh I hate that... sometimes telling myself oh man I have an amazing two hours to sleep helps like I am tricking myself that it is a long time but most of the time that just backfires to a countdown of how little of time left I have to sleep...
@mtengl yes!! I try that to and it just didn't work. Of course after I heard DH hit snooze 2 or 3 times I dozed off only to be rudely awakened by him slamming doors and running around like a crazy man. Apparently one of the times he hit snooze he turned his alarm off and had 15 mins to shower, get ready and run out the door this morning. On top of it, DS woke up wide eyed and bushy tailed at 6am which is more than 2 hrs before he leaves for school. It's been a day and it's not even noon
@kianarain The lockdown season was TERRIBLE and sooooo boring. I don't know who would ever think that was a good idea.
@mtengl I'm confused... Why does a power outage matter at 4:30? lololol
My hubby goes through bouts of insomnia. He used to toss and turn in bed, or play on his phone. He finally took my extreme bad temper in the mornings as a sign to smarten up... So now he actually gets out of bed and hangs out in his office with the door closed, but... He locks the dogs out of his office, so they pace the hallway and make all kinds of noise. I love him so much, which is a good thing because it's what keeps him alive some days.
leighbrek I got my top at Torrid and it holds up my formerly 36F now 40G bust quite well. I wear regular size bottoms from target or old navy and that top still. I think a bikini makes it easier to not do maternity suit. This is the top I have and it really holds them in because you can do the straps in two different weighs and it has a band underneath plus cups. I think I have a 2 or 3 x. I'm a size 12 without the boobs, in case that helps.
@leighbrek you're welcome! nothing like a size medium or large bikini bottom with plus size 40G top and a big belly in the middle talk about sizing issues.
@kianarain & @leighbrek I stopped at like episode 3 of OITNB last season because it was so awful- do you think I can just skip the rest of last season and start with this new season?
I work from home and am currently just laying in bed- I do not have the energy to even sit in my desk chair to work..... but can’t nap either ugh!
@kmos816 Yeah, if I were you, read the Wikipedia page or whatever to get the drift of the rest of the season, and then move on to the next season. The next season is waaaay better.
@leighbrek THANK YOU!! I was kind like well let me just check the website to see if it is out in the area and the status and go back to sleep but he gets freaked out when the power is out. In his defense he lived through a week long power outage in the dead of summer in Memphis (not a good part of Memphis) so I think he gets paranoid he needs to prepare to take care of the food in the fridge and deal with the heat... Also our dogs sleep in our bedroom so they were hanging out with me, I wish I could kick them out so they could be restless outside of our room although I am sure they would bark more so I bet that is annoying.
DD has a raging double ear infection, so that's been keeping me occupied. I'm SO MAD because I brought her in to urgent care Wednesday night bc she had a fever and obviously in pain, but the nurse practitioner said she has a cold (duh, I knew that part) and that her ears looked pink, but that it "could have been from her crying so much" (she was bawling while being checked out.) I made an apt with her OB the next day (yesterday) to follow up, and the OB looked at her ears and said they're "bulging and have a little pus behind one." and was shocked the nurse missed it. She could have been on antibiotics for a whole day earlier if the nurse knew what she was doing!!!!!! SO MAD! All night DD kept saying "owweeee" in the monitor when she'd wake up from coughing. Today she should start to feel better. I just HATE fevers in LO's because it makes me anxious.
On a different note, I love the HDBD thread! I often feel self conscious about my bump right now because I feel like I'm bigger than I "should" be, then we all get to share our bumps and how SERIOUSLY cute we all are, and I feel way more normal and realize I'm right on track.
WHEW! Finally caught up with you guys (mostly). It has been a crazy week. I was supposed to be traveling all week for work (and did some)... I came home Weds night because 1) my sister had her baby on Monday AM and though she's full term, she's in the NICU because she's vomiting blood; 2) our basement flooded with sewage again; 3) my senior special needs dog was refusing to eat, which is an emergency since that's how she gets her seizure meds. It's a miracle that most things seem to have gotten resolved yesterday -- plumber and city sewer inspector came yesterday and today, dog is finally eating again and didn't have any Grand Mal seizures yet, and most importantly, my new niece stopped bleeding and is starting to be able to eat -- still in NICU, but she's improved vastly! It was heartbreaking to see the parents with babies in the NICU yesterday, they were so tiny. One baby was 16 weeks premature. Every day I pray that I will get to carry to term and seeing those little babies made it that much more scary. I know that there are many success stories every day... thank you to those on this board that have shared their NICU journeys, and hopefully none of us have new ones to share in the coming months!
Alert! St. Regis dealcoholized champagne is the best substitute for booze I have found yet!! First one I will happily repurchase. Bringing a couple of bottles to a centering group get together this weekend too!
I got called into jury duty today. On a Friday! Anyway, I’m supposed to report to the courthouse where they do family and civil court only to be told they aren’t accepting jurors so I get sent to the main courthouse a block away. I didn’t initially postpone because the family and civil cases are usually short. I decided to postpone when I got to the main courthouse because there’s no way I can serve on a jury heading into my third trimester with doctor appointments. They let me postpone until May. I’ll still be nursing but it’s more manageable.
I left before 9 and DS was at my sister in law’s daycare for the day because my free babysitters are on vacation. I came home, made myself a nice breakfast, and took a nap! I also got some cleaning done.
I think we're going to have to put our older dog down soon. The vet thought he had a UTI because we found he'd made a mess in the basement and there was blood everywhere, so we gave him a run of antibiotics. This morning... There was a strong smell from somewhere when I woke up, but I couldn't find anything so I chalked it up to pregnancy super nose... But then I sat in my rocking chair, and there it was - world's biggest ocean of pee and blood. Just wonderful. Called the vet, she said his latest tests didn't come back looking good at all. Blah.
@sfgiantsgamerbabe my husband playfully knocked something out of my hands today and I yelled at him that it was getting harder to pick things up so stop it
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt I purged my side of the closet earlier today and now I want to purge every closet in my house!!!! Its such a satisfying feeling!

He's been a good, sweet dog. I know he's old, but still sucks.
