I have hyper sensitive skin and cannot use scented anything for laundry - I use half the recommended amount of free and clear (tide or all work for me) and wool dryer balls with half an unscented bounce sheet. My kids have similar skin so far and have never had issues. I break out in a combination of hives, psoriasis, eczema and contact dermatitis with anything else. I can use oxyclean and bleach for colors for really bad stuff but I have to rinse it extra to ensure it's all washed out.
@kayjay44 DH is similar to you in that regard. We only use unscented detergent and dryer sheets. I never use the full amount of suggested detergent on regular loads because I think they tell you to use more than you actually need so you'll buy more bottles in the long run. I'll stick with what we've already got, and if baby has issues I'll switch to Dreft. Thanks, guys!
I actually just read the other day that the recommended amount of detergent for a large load in a HE washer is only 2 tablespoons! I reread it a few times because I was shocked at how little that is especially compared to what my detergent bottle recommends. I’ve been wasting so much detergent.
FWIW, we use Tide Coldwater clean most of the time and have never used special detergent for the babies. They’ve been fine. They don’t all have super sensitive skin issues.
But yes, Dreft is overpriced just like every other product marketed for “infants.” Free and clear is fine if that’s what you want and it’ll save you all the dollars.
My aunt loves fels-naphtha bar soap for a lot of stains - especially grass. My cousin played baseball from ages 4-24 pretty much and she always cleaned his pants with that stuff.
Has anyone tried H&M maternity clothes? I’m sure they aren’t high quality, but I just want some basic dresses to accessorize so I don’t mind if they aren’t super nice.
@BourbonBiscuits H&M is great! Haven't tried any dresses, but I'm wearing their fleece lined leggings right now. I actually think they're better quality than my Motherhood Maternity leggings that have become shapeless and sheer in places after two washes.

I hit Ross today and got a handful of tops. The highlight was finding the exact same maternity top that was my absolute favorite from last time. Same brand, same everything. Black, long sleeve v neck that goes with everything. $5.99.
