  • Bumping this— as my symptoms have basically diminished my paranoia is on the rise. This helps every time.
  • I so needed this!! Thank you for something positive! I’m AMA with hypothyroidism and this is my first pregnancy after a chemical this July. My anxiety has been rather high as a result, but I’m also a facts and figures person, so loving these positive stats. Thank you!

@rennie1108 that does help a lot because I’m on my 7th day of spotting, although it seems to be slightly less. I’m still getting like one glob of red everyday when I wipe but no cramps or anything. Ugh it’s so frustrating. @nalyshad I feel you— I also went to the ER (I wrote a post about it here) a week ago and was also told everything looked fine but I’m still spotting. I go again on Wed. for a sonogram. It’s been torture waiting and not knowing what’s going on. I haven’t been able to be excited about this pregnancy yet. Keep me updated on how things are going!
Any updates? I haven't checked this thread in awhile, sorry!
  • First time I’ve seen this!
    I love this! Thank you!!!!!
  • I feel like I’m in the minority but I actually can’t stand this chart. TW- I had a loss at 12w5d after seeing a healthy heartbeat and growth, when population stats are solidly under 2%. I sure as hell don’t feel lucky, but this chart revels in ~how unlikely~ that is. Population statistics don’t really apply in individual cases, and as someone who had a loss during a ‘safe’ time, it really rubs me the wrong way.
  • I’m sorry that you had to experience a later loss. It’s terrible. @lin0442 I am comforted but not blinded by these numbers. 2% reoresents a large amount of sadness and loss and your loss matters. <3
  • @lin0442 I had a similar experience and I share your feelings. I know the majority of pregnancies wind up okay and I wouldn't want to take away anything (like these stats) that comfort people. But my loss did teach me that sometimes, statistics mean dick.
  • @lin0442 I am sorry for your loss.  I'm not a fan of stats either.  I had three consecutive miscarriages, which they said statistically was < 1% chance, and the 3rd one was a partial molar, which is a 0.1% occurance.  My solution to being one of the unlucky ones was finding a fantastic ob willing to let me come in whenever I needed to to hear my 4th baby's heartbeat (which was about every 2 weeks).  With this pregnancy I'm just taking it one day at a time.
