@PensiveCrayon Mmm, ghee. Just thinking about it makes me want to sauté something.
I was a real bum today. When I got the motivation to do *something* it started storming and my guard dog needed comfort...so back to the couch. I cancelled on a gals night because of the storms & my dog, and it's annoying because we haven't had thunder since the afternoon! One of them swung by and brought me some of their homemade pizza though, it was delicious

@echo-charlietango I did get a kick out of the fact that it looked like a nice tall brewski. (I had to move it out of the IP because it was getting browner than I wanted.)

Well, I have some pear purée made for this LO! My in-laws gave us a TON of pears from their orchard. It was way more than we could eat before it went bad, so I figured I might as well get a head start on making baby food. Now I’m feeling pretty accomplished haha
@PensiveCrayon damn lady, way to kill it! That whole 30 never saw you coming! Also, yum.
@katy0990 you are super productive and make me feel like I'm 5 months behind! Lol but pear puree sounds great. I'm currently LOVING pear juice/nectar as it seems to be the only juice my body can tolerate at the moment without punishing me with reflux. I feel like I should probably make pear puree for this baby as I'm sure she'll also love it since she's getting quite a taste for pears!
@echo-charlietango my pup (the newly 3-legged girly) is terrified of storms too. She was curled up on my panting like she'd just run a marathon when it was thundering earlier. Poor girl. Wish there was more we could do for them! But comforting doggo is a great excuse to get out of plans lol. And even better that you STILL got pizza out of it. Your friend sounds like the best!
@clbness and @temmetime Sesame Street has this counting song that for a while they played every episode. I swear I have that song going through my dreams every single night. The worst.
My boys had school pictures yesterday and they turned out really really good. So...maybe its the pregnancy hormones or just the normal mom ones but... I bought everything. I’m supposed to be saving money for maternity leave, but the pictures make my heart so happy. I plan on framing some and putting them in the room that ds1 and ds2 share now (some of the pictures are of them together). They will love that. They love each other so much.
Hi guise! I had my BMB g2g last weekend and had such an amazing time. Everyone was extra nice to me because I couldn't drink and they felt bad I'm so behind on the board, so I'm just going to start over, lol. I've tried to glance through to make sure I didn't miss anything hugely important.
I've been a bit MIA this week for some sad reasons. My FIL passed away on Monday. He has been sick for some time, but until about a month ago we were still holding on to the slim hope that he might get to see his first grandchild . It's a tough time, but we're hanging in there and trying to look forward - I think the baby will be a source of much happiness for the family.
@texas_t Welcome back and glad you had a great time! @rosebud332 Is it the one that was sung by a "Glee" type group?! I sing Sesame Street songs a lot...especially the Ed Sheeran and John Legend ones. @PensiveCrayon +1 to now wanting a delicious craft beer now!
Not to get super political anything, but it's been a really shitty couple of weeks, newswise, for a lot of people. Today promises to be full of headlines and breaking news that are... Yeah. Just sending a lot of love out to anybody who's been struggling with triggers during this whole circus.
Thanks, ladies. DH is doing okay. He has been trying to come to terms with this for the past year, I would say, so he says in some ways he was prepared. But it's still tough - you can't be fully prepared for something like this.
@texas_t I was just thinking of you today and wondering where ya were! Glad to see you back! @ab_canada so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you both @AGK2015 +1 good vibes to lots of people today. ugh.
@ab_canada so sorry for your and DHs loss. I went through something similar with my last pregnancy, but still different. My grandma passed just a couple weeks after I told her I was pregnant. I still get upset from time to time thinking about how she was somewhat close to getting to meet what would have been her first great grandchild. Big hugs to you guys.
@ab_canada I don't know how I missed your post when I posted earlier. I'm so sorry for the loss of your FIL. You're right, no matter how much you try to prepare, it's never a true preparation and certainly isn't easy. Thinking of you and your family.

@ab_canada oh no! I'm sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and YH. I think you're right though, this baby will be a huge source of joy for the whole family!
@texas_t welcome back! Glad you had a good time at your get-together.
@scaredunprepared Thanks! I got a choice of flavors so I chose the lime one - I’ve heard it’s the “least offensive” one in terms of flavors. Honesty, it was kind of like the syrup for a sprite without all the liquid lol. I got it down and just feel a bit weird and lightheaded, but I’m sitting so I’m fine. It feels like baby just WOKE up and is doing cartwheels. 😂😂🙈
@Activebaby@scaredunprepared maybe they were trying to help me prevent lightheadedness or something? They kept checking on how I was feeling in the hour between drinking it and and getting my blood drawn. Which in my case felt silly, because I'm a notorious sweet tooth and I'm well practiced at inhaling desserts.
Re: glucose I had the same instructions as @PensiveCrayon - drink it all in five minutes or fewer. I drank orange flavor (but it was clear!) because I heard it was the best, and I was surprised at how inoffensive it was to drink.
