Water is leaking

Woke up this morning to my water leaking at 31w5d, my hospital does not have a NICU capable of such early babies so I was transferred to a hospital almost 2 hours away. Am on hospital bedrest until 34 weeks as long as fluid levels do not drop too low or other complications arise. Not what I was expecting at all. Still team green and anxious to find out what this little one is, but hoping he/she stays put for a little longer.

@msb11182018 oh honey I’m sure you’re so worried. That’s especially tough the be so far from home. Will your husband be able to stay or visit often? I hope you are comfortable at least. Praying for you and sweet baby and hoping they stay in for a few more weeks.

I can tell you that a friend I know was in a similar situation earlier this year - she started leaking fluid at 28w, went on hospital bed rest, and delivered a 3lb girl at 32w. She and her baby girl are now happy and healthy and thriving at home. Happy ending!

I am so sorry. I hope baby is able to stay put for another 3-4 weeks at least. I'm glad you're at a hospital with an appropriate NICU if need be, but I'm sorry you have to be 2 hours from home. Thinking of you and your little one.

sending positive thoughts your way that baby will stay put until 34 weeks at least. also hope that your hospital stay is as comfortable as possible and that despite the distance you’ll be able to get lots of visitation from your loved ones.

Thanks everyone, I am worried but just trying to stay positive, there doesnt seem to be any other concerns atm, they took me off the monitors for the night and I get to eat for the first time in 14 hours so I am just going to take comfort in some chocolate cake. Sent bf home to work and so our son doesnt have to spend 2 weeks at Grammie & Papas house. He plans on coming back tomorrow so i can see Maddox.

Thanks everyone, baby has been cooperating so far. 32 weeks today, measured right on track during yesterdays ultrasound. No contractions.. hoping for another uneventful day of bedrest.

Baby has been cooperating, will be 33w6d tomorrow so doctors will be inducing me tomorrow night. Extremely ready to be done with bedrest, but not so excited about giving birth. I was very much looking forward to avoiding it until November haha

Oh wow! I know it’s probably really overwhelming to be giving birth so much earlier than you thought but I’m so happy baby got to stay put this long. Just think in a day or two you’ll be holding your baby at long last! Can’t wait to see pictures of your sweet one! Good luck with the induction - fx it goes smoothly!
