@jgil85 and @AliKay20 your stories made me cry. I would hope we're not judging other moms and only supporting eachother here. I am not good with words but i'm sorry you both know that heart ache. That must have been so hard.
@mtengl It can... Just depends on baby's position. Some babies hang out head down and keep a bit of pressure going on low in the pelvis. If there's a problem, you would typically feel cramping/semi-intense back pain (signalling labour); if baby is just hanging out, it just feels heavy. I'm not a doctor, though, so if you're feeling concerned or just like something isn't quite right, it's always good to ask a doc or midwife to double check.
@jgil85 and @AliKay20 I'm a NICU momma too and echo everything. I also had DS on 12/20 and was discharged the afternoon of 12/24. We didnt want to spend xmas eve sulking so tried the family thing and I cried for hours. We woke up super early xmas morning and went straight to the NICU and basically said screw the holidays; anyone who wanted to see us had to come to the hospital. There were several nights I'd leave the hospital and lay in the floor of his nursery bawling, it was the worse and most trying 21 days of my entire life.
@leighbrek thank you. I am not experiencing any other sensations so I am just going to monitor and contact my midwife if I feel like I need to. I was really trying to avoid the google spiral.
@drabong88 How did the birthday party go? I threw one today for my 2 year old, SO, mom, and sister. It was so much work but worth it. We had a great time. But I definitely know how you feel about cooking and cleaning and still having a mess. THEN after it's even worse. Such a mess to clean up.
@mtengl my little guy is hanging out super low and my belly definitely feels heavy most of the time. Not always, like you said, but definitely by 4 o clock each day.
I also feel like we have a group of understanding, supportive women here who are not too judgemental. I hope no one has to experience anything heart breaking through this process, but if they do, I am sure others here will be a big support.
@molosmiles the party went good! It was a bit hectic this morning getting everything ready but we got done just in time ! The weather was great so the kids got to play outside which was great. DS had a blast and loved us singing to him. When we finished and he blew out his candle he yelled out "again" lol. I still can't believe he is 2! This is our last kid and I'm already said thinking about how fast the baby stage will go!
