Spotting... I think I just want to talk..

I am currently 8w1d and spotting. I've been spotting since about 5 1/2 and I have had 2 miscarriages in the past. I had an early ultra at about 7 weeks and it showed a heartbeat and appropriate growth (it was 2 days behind but they were not at all concerned by that). Fast forward a week I wake up to a big bloody show in the toilet so much normal blood (not period like) no cramping and a large clot (grape sized).  I of course freaked out, my doctors office got me in for a free ultra sound that would only check for a heartbeat. Low and behold... a heartbeat! Not only that they had a cancelation and got me in for my first appointment that morning so he did another ultrasound and found the same good heart beat and that it has grown and even got caught up to its size perfectly. Here's what sucks... Im still spotting. All the doctors are saying they really feel like everything is going to be okay with this one but I CAN NOT get out of my head. Like I said.. I think I just want to talk lol, hear stories of success mostly (I already know that bad parts of spotting). Thanks ladies <3

I'm sorry that you are going through this.  This is my first pregnancy, so I have no stories to share, but I didn't want to read and not respond.  Hoping for the best for you!

I have no words of comfort, just compassion.  I am also 8w1d today, and had my 1st Ultrasound yesterday.  The results were possibility of conjoined twins... now I have to wait to see the specialist.  Waiting and worry is terrible, right there with you.

I had spotting with my first pregnancy and everything turned out ok, DD is now almost 2.5. I hope everything ends up ok!

I would also suggest going back and doing an intro if you plan on sticking around (which we hope you will) and read the board organization.

I spotted for about a week with DS before I even knew I was pregnant. He's 3.5 now and just fine.Try to relax and find something to take your mind off of the spotting until your next appointment.

I can do the intro for sure, as far as board organization are you thinking my post is to personal only to me? I searched spotting and just could not make heads or tails of the threads the way they looked on my computer. Thanks!

@Kflanders24 not at all. In fact, a lot of women on this board have experienced spotting. But most women do an intro real quick before joining the conversation, it's no big deal.

I'm having occasional spotting this pregnancy. We are talking once or twice a wwwk I notice light pink after using the bathroom. I've been seeing an early pregnancy specialist weekly and she has zero concerns about the spotting given we keep seeing a healthy, growing babe on ultrasound.

My pregnancy with DD I had no spotting so this is new and concerning for me. Concentrate on that heartbeat you saw and the growing babe! I hope everything works out for you.

This is my first pregnancy, so I have no previous stories to share, but I was spotting for close to 2 weeks (probably about 6-8 weeks) and was really concerned. It wasn't crazy heavy, but I definitely needed to change a pantiliner throughout the day, and it was consistent. My doc wasn't concerned, ultrasounds have been great, and it just stopped all of a sudden. They said a lot of women have a subchorionic hemorrhage, and they thought they saw it in my last ultrasound, and it's nothing to worry about. It totally freaked me out, though! Please keep us posted xoxo

So sorry. Pregnancy after loss is so much harder to deal with. I have had 2 MC, 1 baby and This pregnancy has had some issues already. I am just trying to not focus on being pregnant so that I don't drive myself crazy.

No real advice except that you are not alone. **hugs**

Big hug for you, @Kflanders24! I don’t have any advice, but I’m here for you! I’m also a first time mom, currently at 10.5 weeks. I went to the bathroom one day at 8.5 weeks and looked down to find blood, but I felt no pain. My doctor sent me to the hospital right away, and once again we saw the baby still had a strong heartbeat and had grown as they should. The bleeding lasted a couple more days and then stopped. Like you, the Dr didn’t give me any other information...no speculation on why this may have happened at all...and told me all seemed good/go on living normally. Like that’s so easy to do! At the very least, I must say this little baby is already preparing me for being a mom with the worry they’ve caused me! Stay strong!

@h_skullington I’m also not sure where your head is at or if your mind is racing, but if you need to talk more at all I’m here for you too!

I also had spotting for about 2 weeks this pregnancy,  but everything is going great now, i know how unnerving it is but try not to stress about it.  Your cervix is super vascular right now so it can bleed easily.  Hope that eases your mind! ❤

I’m 8w2d and have spotted every day since 5 weeks. I’ve had 2 MMC and 1 healthy pregnancy and this is nothing like those pregnancies. My scans have shown a healthy growing baby and I was even able to Doppler a heart beat at home today for the first time. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I keep saying to my doctors I feel like it’s not normal to spot this much and they can’t seem to find a reason for it. Hang in there!

I have had spotting since about 6w, I'm now 10w. My last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 10w, though the baby stopped developing at 7, and that started with spotting here and there...so naturally I hace been anticipating the worst. My ultrasound last week showed a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat, though, and my spotting has slowed down (fingers crossed that it's over now). I don't know that I will ever feel "safe" with this pregnancy, but hearing the heartbeat was a little bit of comfort. Hang in there, mama. Often spotting is just spotting, and healthy babies are still the outcome.

Another over here with constant spotting for a week so far! The first bit was sort of a period-like whoosh, so we went to the ER to get checked out. All levels came back great, found a heartbeat, and no bad signs. The ER doctor I had said she actually spotted up until 15 weeks :o I’m so sorry to hear about the worry it’s causing you, I hope you feel more comfortable that it has been so common on this board!

I had a bunch of spotting off and on when pregnant with my DD. She just turned 2 in June! Sadly spotting can happen for a number of reasons, or no apparent reason at all. Super annoying and nerve wracking but try to take comfort in knowing it can be totally normal!

Thank so much ladies, I am certainly feeling better reading your stories. So much love for my fellow MC momma's especially. Best wishes to all of you and your current pregnancies. As of right now it seems my spotting has subsided, fingers crossed it stays that way so I can start to relax. Even had a yoga class last night and it stirred up nothing so I am feeling really confident right now. <3

I’ve yet to formally introduce myself to the board, but want to offer what little comfort I can on this topic, as it’s a worry I can relate to so well.
This is my 3rd pregnancy. I have 2 DDs - barely 4 & 23 months. I’ve never had a MC, but have spotted with all 3.
The first 2 were early - between 6 & 7 weeks. With this one, I had a gush of fluid & blood near the 10 week mark, that sent me to the ER. Everything looked fine - heartbeat, closed cervix, only “old blood” during my pelvic exam... but I couldn’t help but remain terrified.
For the next week I spotted brown, and googled “reasons for spotting at 10 weeks” until my fingers nearly fell off.
I had a scan on Thursday (11+1) and everything still looks great.
I think that if the bleeding & spotting gets lighter, you probabaly have nothing to be concerned about. Light spotting that becomes heavier over time is more concerning.
And although I can’t guarantee anything, remember that at this point, the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor for a healthy pregnancy. ❤️
