@nerdyteacherlady we are renovating and have had to move back into the house before the project is finished. Our kitchen stuff is all over our living spaces and everything smelled so funny to me but DH couldn't smell anything. We finally got a chance to move some stuff around and wash dust off of our pots and pans and cookie sheets and I swear the smell was the dust because I don't notice it as much anymore.

@k2k2tog Man, living in a partially renovated space sounds rough. Hopefully those flaky guys show up and finish the job. And good to know for you it was dust.

Yes! It was so weird though... I mean, I know what dust smells like and this wasn't it. I can only assume my hormones were translating the smell oddly?
Hi all, we are due around May 1 or 2! Got to see our little blueberry yesterday, because we are working with an RE we will get weekly ultrasounds until we are discharged to our OB around 10 or 11 weeks, which is such a huge comfort to me! *TW* I'm struggling emotionally because I have had recurrent miscarriages but so far this time around everything has been right on track!
@k2k2tog we are getting ready to start our kitchen remodel and we're DIYing it...crazy, right? I am realizing I probably won't be able to do as much as we were hoping (I do a lot of work on the house and my dad is a custom woodworker so he and I have done all of the work so far) so we might have to contract out more than I would like, but we have GOT to get it done before this baby comes because it is the original kitchen to the house (1950) and it is ROUGH. Mama needs a real kitchen!

@BWhitta not crazy! We renovated our first house top to bottom all on our own with help from family, including the kitchen. This time around, our lives are so different and crazy busy with two little ones running around and DH has his own business, so we definitely didn't want to be spending our weekends DIYing again. Not to mention - our house is 150 years old and there were some really custom things we wanted to do that were definitely beyond our capabilities!

@k2k2tog ahh, I may pick your brain once we get started!!!! we are waiting on our permit, my next-door neighbor is an architect and he's helping us out with our plans which is so nice, so once he finishes up the changes they requested I'll be off to the permitting office again...eep.
Any appointments? Questions?: we have our first OBGYN appointment next Wednesday, 9/19 I’m literally counting down the days
Rants/Raves?: Rave: no morning sickness yet! Rant: sore boobies! I have to wear my largest bra that doesn’t have padding and am so worried that everyone can see my new mom nips
How are you feeling?: sooo excited! It’s EXTREMELY difficult to stay focused at work when all I can think about is Baby Tot
GTKY - If you could be on a gameshow, which one would it be and why?
Going to copy @k2k2tog and say the Great British Baking Show when Mel and Sue were still there and so I could learn from Mary Berry’s wisdom.
@beccabek92 "new mom nips" made me choke on my water
Also, totally forgot the GTKY question, and I know this is weird, but I'm going to have to say Kid's Baking Championship. My husband and I are completely obsessed with that show...I cannot stand adult cooking competitions (love everything else about Food Network) but for some reason, I just can't get enough of those kids! I actually am "friends" with Bre from last season on Instagram and it's something I'm weirdly proud of.

This is like my only symptom right now. I work on a 100+ year old campus. Smells. Everywhere.
Not to gross anyone out... but when i was pregnant last time, a freezer filled with meat was accidentally unplugged before a 4 day weekend. It was actually around this time 4 years ago. I was in my first trimester and the stench was unbearable, and I hadn’t told anyone I was pregnant. The refrigerator was picked up by a company, and they had to keep it outside their warehouse because it made the entire place smell like death (literally). It dripped and got into the floor and smelled for weeks. It was HORRIBLE. We all still talk about it.
Super random/annoying thing I want to share: So I had salmon last night for dinner along with a mango salsa that had raw garlic in it.
You know how the garlic seeps out your pores the next day after you eat a lot of it? Well today I swear I smell super weird, probably the garlic, but I also think I smell fishy, which is not what usually happens after I eat fish! (I did shower this morning.)
So I don't know if my pregnant sense of smell is just picking up on things that no one else can smell, or if I am actually smelling funky today at work. Aaaaah.
Anyone else got weird smell stuff going on?
I also cannot stand the smell of the garage door being open, which we often do so the cats can go in and out. Something about the dust and whatever else is there. Can't abide.
OK, I'm sure no one has been waiting for a followup, lol, but this morning I figured out what I thought the fishy smell was before! It is my facial sunscreen! It's just smelling stronger and different to me now that I'm preggers. Thankful to have figured out that I was not actually reeking of fish to everyone around me.

Thanks for he show recommend! We’re obsessed with everything Netflix has to offer cooking competition wise.
