Hi ladies! I know it's probably bad news, but I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard any stories with positive outcomes after not finding a gestational sac during a vaginal ultrasound.
A little background info: I did IVF 3 years ago (my husband has azoospermia) and were extremely lucky to have success the first round! We transferred the remaining 2 embryos to try for a 2nd child. My first beta at 9dp5dt was only 29, which didn't look good considering it was 125 with my daughter. Second beta came back at only 32 so I was sure it was a CP, but I returned for a 3rd beta 4 days later and it had risen to 166! Had an OB appointment 5 days later and my HCG was up to 1170- a glimmer of hope! But, today (5 days after my last beta) and nothing could be seen at all on the ultrasound. The tech searched pretty thoroughly in my ovaries as well. She said it's possible it's just early (she said they couldn't see her pregnancy with one of her children until 8 weeks), she said my uterus at least looked typical for a pregnancy. They took yet another beta, I'm anxious to hear the results and at least know what direction my levels are moving. Anyone ever heard of a crazy story where I sac just appeared this late in pregnancy? Or is this just doomed to just be a chemical or even an ectopic? Thanks for letting me vent! I'm driving my husband crazy talking about this!

@bpietronicco I'm doing OK, I just want to know what on Earth is going on inside my body! My HCG from yesterday was 3700, which gave me a doubling time of 72 hr. I thought that was crap, but looking online, I saw from 1200-6000 normal slows down to 72-96 hr so it is an OK result. My doctor said it is maybe possible with an HCG at that level that it's just not visible yet. He's having me come in for more blood work tomorrow and an ultrasound friday . Hopefully, I'll have an answer whether or not this is a viable pregnancy by this weekend!

Thanks for the support, ladies! I'm hoping Monday was maybe just a little too early. I've been seeing an OBGYN since my fertility clinic is out of state. My IVF nurse was out of office earlier and she finally called back after hearing my results. She's really worried about an ectopic so of course now I'm starting to panic. I bumped up my ultrasound to help ease my nerves, hopefully I'll know something within the next hour!

Thanks, everyone! Good news is the tech said she definitely didn't see an ectopic pregnancy. Bad news is she wouldn't tell me anything other than she saw a little something in my uterus. This was an outside imagining center so she couldn't "discuss results" which I'm guessing doesn't mean good things. I couldn't get a good view of the screen so I have no clue what she saw.

Thanks for all your support, ladies! I finally heard back from my doctor. They saw a sac, but it was only measuring 5 weeks (I dunno if that was the exact age, or if he just was rounding down). I was 6w5d at the time so not great news. He wants me in for another ultrasound this Friday and we're crossing our fingers we somehow see a heartbeat. He pretty much told me to prepare for the worst, but we should wait it out just in case.
