Re: 1st Trimester check-in week of Sept. 10th

  • How far along are you? / EDD 12 weeks and 2 days —- this is my last check in in first trimester

How are you feeling? Pretty good.

Any recent / upcoming appointments? First OB appt this Friday

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: I’m just super excited to get out of first trimester and get my ultrasound and blood test and know that everything is fine.

What's your main cravings lately? None yet but I’m eating waaaay too much in general lol
  • How far along are you? / EDD 11w3d EDD March 28th

How are you feeling? Pretty good overall. Done with PIO & estrogen, so I feel like the bloat has subsided finally.

Any recent / upcoming appointments? 1st OB appt was on Friday. Went really well...lots of blood work and got another ultrasound w/ HB of 171. Happy my OB is referring my to a high risk doctor as well just to get more ultrasounds through the pregnancy.

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: Same as above. Excited to be out of 1st trimester next week. Hoping by the holidays there maybe a "bump sighting" lol I really want to shop for maternity clothing and have a cart saved already online...but feel silly esp in the store looking.

What's your main cravings lately? Mainly craving carbs...I want them all! I feel like anything I craved at the beginning, I can't tolerate or stand eating now. Cravings have started to calm down and in that "i don't know what I want stage /  nothing sounds good".

  • @mayflower513 She said due to being over 35 and doing IVF, she'd do the referral. That probably wasn't really "high risk" per say, but sounded like she did it when she was pregnant as well after IVF. She's super nice, so think was doing it as a favor just for more screenings :)

  • I am so bummed that we're losing some of our 1st tri-ers - but happy that @kristimh80 and @Drove2u are moving on. This weekly check-in is going to be lean!

How far along are you? / EDD
    8+2 , 4/20

How are you feeling? Better! I am still nauseous but not to the point of throwing up anymore. I finally was able to stop the suppositories (yay!!), but the PIO injections are a bitch. Less than two weeks left!

Any recent / upcoming appointments? US tomorrow! I am crippled with anxiety. I just keep telling myself that 'what will be will be'!

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: None that I can think of right now. I'm sure some will pop up throughout the week.

What's your main cravings lately?  Carbs - bagels, pizza, waffles, etc. It's really bad. I am hoping as I move closer to the 2nd tri I'll get some of my normal cravings back.

    @scikap
I got these fried pickles at a steakhouse while I was pregnant and I thought they were the best thing ever. My husband was not as impressed so I think it was mostly pregnancy tastes! They were just so good and I had to eat all of them with the little ranch dipping sauce   It was at a Longhorn steakhouse so maybe they have one in your area? They still have them! I just didn't order them last time we went because I'm trying to get rid of baby weight now!

How far along are you? / EDD - 11 weeks, 4 days. EDD 3/29/18

How are you feeling? I think I'm coming down with a cold, so that's annoying. But otherwise feeling pretty good, still queasy all throughout the day but it's not horrible.

Any recent / upcoming appointments? Bloodwork on Thursday (NIPT).

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: What are your go-to cold remedies when you're pregnant? It's been so long for me I can't even remember. I know I can Google but I figured I'd ask here, too.

What's your main cravings lately? Orange juice and pizza (but not together haha)

@kristimh80 I'm jealous that you're done with PIO! My last injection will be this Saturday which I'm really excited for, but it's also terrifying kind of.

@madasm0530 Good luck with the ultrasound, keep us posted!!

  • @mbradfo2 Hmm fried pickles and ranch sound amazing!!

How are you feeling? Feeling okay— tired all the time and bouts of nausea here and there.  More anxious than anything.

  • @mbradfo2 OMG that sounds amazing. Must find Longhorn steakhouse!!

@madasm0530 GL at your U/S. This is a fun one - looks much more like a baby at this point :)

@uterusdreams I had a bad cold while TTC and was avoiding the "good" cold stuff... I did a lot of hot water with lemon and ginger. I find just drinking something hot constantly keeps the congestion down somewhat. But it definitely sucks not to be able to take Nyquil at night! I'd also love to hear if others have good suggestions as I am very prone to head colds in the fall & winter

@bpietronicco great beta results! Hope you have a great u/s on Friday!

@scikap Good luck at your appt too!!
@madasm0530 One step closer to being done meds!!! Good luck at your appt today! Hope it went/goes well!!
@uterusdreams Ah I hope you're feeling better or can find some meds that work for you!! Sucks to be feeling crappy on top of already feeling crappy.
@bpietronicco Glad your numbers look so good!! Good luck at your appt!

How far along are you? / EDD 9w5d - 4/11

How are you feeling? Still pretty crappy in the AM and PM

Any recent / upcoming appointments?  Had my weekly appt yesterday.  Our u/s tech always pops it into 3D and I just can't believe it - we could see his ears, his little arms were covering his face already. Like guys - they look like babies already!! I can't believe it.
We are cutting a dose of estrace and my suppositories. I'm at once a day for each now! I think next week I'll go to EOD on the suppositories just until I run out (I have about 10 left).  I'm hoping I'll feel even just a little bit better without all of the extra hormones in my system. Wishful thinking maybe?

    Thoughts/Concerns? Questions:

What's your main cravings lately? Anything carbs!!!  I have like a weird taste in my mouth so I swear I just keep eating and snacking so I don't taste it. Not sure if it's from meds or what. I need to just stock up on gum or hard candy.

Editing to add one of our 3D pictures because I literally can’t stop looking. I can’t believe how he’s looking already

  • Appointment done and I've officially graduated from my RE. The little nugget was measuring one day ahead of schedule with a HB of 176.

I was weirdly emotional leaving the appointment because I've been with these nurses for 4+ years between IUI, IVF, FET, etc. and now we're done. Definitely happy, but you guys get it.

I'm already sad to leave my RE in a few weeks!
  • ***lurking from 2nd tri***

@50Wife The taste in your mouth is pregnancy-related, unfortunately. It can be either metallic or like a sour, gross, want to constantly brush your tongue taste. I've had it with all my pregnancies. Carbs and sweets can actually make it worse, so if you can stomach protein and veggies, that will help. It's a stomach pH thing from what I've been told. I brushed my teeth like 4 times a day and rotated gum flavours often. You can also do a baking soda rinse to try to neutralize the low pH in your mouth. I would take the nausea and vomiting any day over the sour mouth taste. It was by far the symptom that pushed me over the edge the most and on multiple occasions. It should get better after 1st tri but can sometimes linger. I'm 23 weeks and still get it some days.

  • @tosh24 Ugh thanks girl! It's gross and I constantly want to eat or drink something other than water to make it go away. I'll keep that in mind about carbs making it worse though - just tough because it's hard to stomach protein and veggies right now...but honestly the taste in my mouth almost adds to my nausea so I might force down more veggies and protein.  Hopefully yours goes away fully soon!!

  • How far along are you? / EDD 6w3d / May 4th

How are you feeling? Tired...pretty nauseous in the mornings...and so so so hungry!

Any recent / upcoming appointments?  Just had an appointment / ultrasound today where we saw little one's heart flickering! We had a subchorionic hemorrhage diagnosed last week, but it seems to be stable now on us.

    Thoughts/Concerns? Questions:

What's your main cravings lately? McDonalds Hamburgers! Super weird, I know, but I tried Burger King and it just didn't hit the spot. I don't think I've had McDonalds hamburgers since I was getting happy meals as a kid!

  • How far along are you? / EDD   5 weeks exactly

How are you feeling? normal, except my chest seems huge and a bit sore.  And I haven't been sleeping well - keep waking up too early, having trouble falling asleep, hot/cold at night.

Any recent / upcoming appointments? Monday will be our first US to check that everything is where it's supposed to be

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: I know other people have posted about it too, but it's so weird that when it's time to stop the hormones, you stop cold turkey.  My RE said to stop at 9 weeks, so counting down - 4 more to go!

What's your main cravings lately?  Nothing noticeable yet - trying to enjoy everything while I still feel good.

  • How far along are you? / EDD  12 weeks EDD 3/27

How are you feeling?  Feeling pretty good aside from the extreme bloating.  *TMI* Sometimes the bloating is so intense, I have bad stomach cramps.  Been taking metamucil every day.  Constipation is a real struggle!

Any recent / upcoming appointments?  Nuchal translucency test and genetic counseling on 9/18

Thoughts/Concerns? Questions: Nothing so far.  Just excited to see baby again on the US.

What's your main cravings lately?  Mangos and hawaiian rolls hehe

Some people have tapered off with approval from their RE because they were nervous about stopping everything cold. I didn't myself -- stopped the estrogen patches around 10 weeks and then PIO at 12 weeks, both cold turkey - and everything was fine. I was super nervous about it though! Your placenta should be taking over at that point and providing all the hormones you need. What I found helpful was to stop around the time of my first OB appt so I could get a reassuring scan that all was well.

  • @emerald99 My RE weaned me off meds the last week or 2. Finally 100% done at week 11. It was nice, but I was SO over them by that time! She did blood work twice to check my levels, etc. Same day I stopped was my 1st OB appt, so helped with reassurance.

  • @emerald99 I stopped PIO during my 9th week. Since then I've dropped my estrace and progesterone suppositories gradually. I was 3 times a day for estrace, dropped to twice a day for a week and this week (10w today) I'm down to once a day on estrace and I'll be starting EOD with my suppositories tonight.  From my phone call with my NP, seems I wouldn't really need any progesterone at this point, but since I have some left, she's just having me do EOD until they're gone.  I should be off all meds by 11 or 12 weeks and I can't wait!!
  • Had my first ob appt appt and didn’t even get an ultrasound. So annoyed. The tech was at lunch. I’m like are you kidding me? The entire appt was 2 hours!! But I did hear heartbeat on Doppler so there was some reassurance. And I got blood tests for abnormalities so waiting for those results now.
  • @Drove2u that’s disappointing.  At least you’ve been had an us at the RE, right?  And Doppler is definitely reassuring!  Did they say you could come back for an ultrasound?

  • @mayflower513 the whole thing was very frustrating. I had an us with RE at 8 weeks. I’m now 13. At obgyn they told me I need an ultrasound between 10-13 weeks. I’m like ummmm ok well I’m here. They’re like we don’t have any appts open. So I’m like ok well I’m schedule it when I come back in 3 weeks for my next appt. they tell me that’s too late. Lol. So now I have to go back next Friday just for ultrasound and then two weeks after for my reg appt.
  • @Drove2u
Ugh, welcome to being at the regular OB.... >.>  I sorta wish you could just stick with RE for the whole pregnancy!
