  • Due date: 3/5

Any appointments? Questions?: not until 9/20

Rants/Raves?: Rant: It’s too damn hot outside. Any creative ideas on what to do with a stir crazy toddler in 95 degree heat?

How are you feeling?: pretty good! Officially in second trimester and nausea has mostly subsided. I’ve had a cold the past week which set off my asthma, but this seems better too

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Green! And mustard yellow.

Any appointments? Questions?: not til later this month

Rants/Raves?: DH is outta town still, I’ve got a lovely end of summer cold, and my kids are soooooo ready to go back to school.

How are you feeling?: see above. I’m miserable. Still getting nauseous and sick more often than I’d like for being 13w4d.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? I love certain shade of purple and Kelly green.

  • Due date: 3/2 (moved up a tad after 12 week ultrasound)

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment isn't until 9/20. Did get first trimester screening results back and there is a 1 in 10k chance baby has down syndrome or trisomy 13/18 so I'm feeling really good about that.

Rants/Raves?: Rave: Loved having a 3-day weekend and one where I got to have the house to myself for a few hours was an extra treat! Rant: We officially opened up the news and made an announcement at a family party this weekend where I got my first unsolicited tummy rub. Why do people think being a pregnant is an open invitation for violating personal space?

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good. Still have a bit of an ache in my right hip when I'm sleeping. I think maybe a good massage can help work that out. Getting a body pillow did help immensely and the slight carpal tunnel symptoms I was getting went away completely. So yay for that!

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Blue! Boy or girl, my baby is definitely going to be wearing plenty of blue!
  • Due: 3/2

    Appointments/Questions: No.

Rants/raves: Ugh. I'm sick. Stuffy and tired and slight headache. D has a small fever.

Feeling: Sick. Also, trying to decide if I want to change what I'm doing. I've mentioned multiple times the ache/pain in my pelvic area. Yesterday, it was horrible. I went out for a short hike even though I felt it coming on before I left, and I could barely walk back. Laid in bed crying for a good long time. TW I haven't had any spotting, but part of me wants to just so there's something! So I have an actual reason to wonder if something is wrong. End TW.

As I've also said, I don't have any appointments until I'm about 18-20 weeks due to my personal extenuating circumstances. I could go in any old place, of course, but I've wanted to just wait and go to my practice when I'm able to. So part of me is trying to decide if I should just go in, at least to try to hear the heartbeat, and then part of me is like why pay the money when they'll probably just say it's nothing and part of being pregnant? And there's been nothing to indicate anything is wrong. At this point I'm kind of holding out an hoping to feel movement soon. I'm 14.5 weeks. I thought I did the other day, maybe, but nothing since.

Color: Blue. Purple a pretty close second.
  • Due date:  3/3

    Any appointments? Questions?: Sept 21st

Rants/Raves?: My long weekend messed with my sleeping schedule. I’m really not motivated today and I’m tired. I think I need a real vacation. Good thing is, it’s a short week and it’s supposed to cool down a bit here!!

How are you feeling?: Glad to be in 2nd tri! But just ok. I still have an aversion to most foods and meats. I get hungry but then nothing sounds good. I’m getting tired of it. I’d like to be able to feel like I can eat something without forcing it. Plus my hips have started to ache after running...fun.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Purple
    Dx: Non-IR PCOS
    Baby Girl K #1 Born 3/8/14
    Baby Girl K #2 EDD 3/3/19
  • Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment is 9/13. It feels like forever since I've seen my doctor.

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I'm with @mamaoftwomonkeys about the heat. It's too freaking hot. I'm ready for fall now. I have no idea how to entertain DD in this heat. She's so over being stuck inside, but I just can't get out in this heat.
Rave: We had a great long weekend. It was an awesome mix of family time, relaxing, and getting stuff done. We finally picked out and ordered DD's big girl room furniture!

How are you feeling?: I got a wave of nausea this morning for the first time in a while, but other than that I've been feeling pretty good. I've only been to my chiropractor twice so far and it's already made a huge difference. I  can't wait to go back again tonight.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Pink. Lucky for me, it's DD's favorite color too (along with yellow), so I get to dress her up in lots of pink!
  • Sorry to hear about all you ladies fighting colds in addition to regular pregnancy discomforts.
@lovesclimbing So sorry you're feeling that way! That's a tough decision to make for sure. If it's really causing you a lot of anxiety and stress, I don't think it's unreasonable at all to find somewhere you can go get checked, hopefully hear a heartbeat and put your mind at ease. I totally understand not wanting to go through the trouble and money just to hear everything is normal too. Can you call and talk to your regular doctor about how you're feeling to see if he/she thinks there's any reason for concern or it's all normal?
  • Due date: Mar 5

Any appointments? Questions? Had my NT scan and did NIPT last Friday, (thank you AMA for getting these both covered by insurance). Next appointment in October.

Rants/Raves? No rants, but a rave that everything looked great at the scan.

How are you feeling? I am feeling pretty thick. Last time I had a defined little bump at this point, but this time around I feel like my whole waist is just... thick. I felt really sexy and curvy during my last pregnancy, and I hope I can regain that feeling because I just feel kind of heavy right now. I keep turning the lights out when we have sex  :(

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? I love yellow, especially yellow flowers.
  • Due 3/6

Appointments?: not till the end of the month

Rants/Raves: yo-yo morning sickness and headaches are making me a little crazy. One day I'm feeling like crap BC of hormones and the next day I feel like crap BC of anxiety that my symptoms are gone and I'm wondering if baby's OK.

How are you feeling: oops, i already got to this one. yo-yo symptoms.

GTKY: I don't really have a favorite, the rainbow colors are all pretty great :)
  • @lovesclimbing I’m sorry you’re having so much discomfort and wrestling with the right choice on care at this point in pregnancy.

My two cents, not that you asked, is if the pain is really affecting your quality of life, which it sounds like it is, it’s probably worth getting checked out, even if just for peace of mind. I wonder if it could be something like SPD?

I hope you feel better soon.
  • @mayoduck  I actually called them once already. I've always been transferred back to talk to a midwife, so I didn't give many details to the receptionist basically just that I had pelvic pain. Well, she just talked to a midwife and then told me it could be a UTI (definitely not. I've had those before) and I should get checked if I need to, and they can't really do anything over the phone. So, I could call again, but honestly hadn't been thinking about until just now. It's not actually causing me lots of stress, I don't think. It's  not constantly on my mind or anything.

@maggemadeit, I have good and bad days. Most days, it's not horrible and then today, I haven't had it at all. So it just depends. It's mostly more annoying than anything. I actually hadn't thought of SPD until you mention that. It actually does sound pretty similar to the symptoms I'm reading online! I've been saying it feels like my uterus is cramping because it feels very similar to what my period cramps always felt like - an ache, not sharp, in my uterus, except this is worse than period pain ever was. (I had this but way less and way less painful last pregnancy). But a lot of the symptoms are the same - pain reaching into my back and worse when I move. Also, it says it can last post delivery, which is interesting because, while I didn't have it for several months after having my daughter, I did start having this kind of pain about five or six months before getting pregnant this time.

Thank you for bringing that up! Sounds like I need to start doing squats again, haha.
  • Due date: 3/1

    Any appointments? Questions?: next week

Rants/Raves?: I’m so hot and there’s no a/c in my school AND I share a tiny room with 3 other teachers.

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling good overall, but I’m absolutely exhausted and hot today. DS has been super conjested which doesn’t go well with a pacifier so he was up every hour on the hour from 2am until 6am.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? I don’t have a favorite. I like lots of colors.
  • Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions?: Not until the end of the month.. this is the longest I've gone without a doctor's appointment since I found out I was pregnant

Rants/Raves?: I guess this will be both a rant and a rave. I finally broke the news to my family last weekend. I know it's pretty late to be telling family but I really wanted to be sure that everything was OK before spreading the news because, if something went wrong early on, I'd really prefer to deal with it myself. Anyways, I was nervous as hell to tell my parents (I still sometimes feel like I'm 17 around my family even though I'm a 29 year old adult...) but my mom was unbelievably happy and started spreading the news immediately and my dad even seemed a little happy which I wasn't entirely expecting. It's a relief that it's all out in the open and that I'm getting a lot of support but it's also overwhelming. I'm very introverted and absolutely hate being the center of attention and now everyone's focus is on what's going on inside of my body which feels very uncomfortable. Also, my partner and I also aren't married though we plan to get married before the kid is born. Now everybody wants a wedding and I really just want to elope and then have some kind of wedding/baby celebration with close friends and family. I have dreaded having a 'traditional' wedding since I was a kid and I hope I can figure out a way to plan something that won't cause me to have a meltdown. Sorry for the long rant but it's been a long, emotional weekend!

How are you feeling?: Overall, not bad. The heat has been getting to me and I do a lot of work outside which is rough. None of my symptoms are terrible, just mildly annoying. Increased discharge, tossing and turning a lot in my sleep, heart palpitations (which I think I'm going to see a doctor for..), tiredness.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Hm. Never really had a favorite color but I gravitate towards burnt orange and forest green. I've always hated pink, not really because of the color but because it was always associated with being girly and I was very against girly things when I was little ha.
  • Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions?: Not until 9/19

Rants/Raves?:Rave: We finally announced and its like a weight off my shoulders. It was so hard for me to tell people even close friends. I'm so glad its out there now!

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling good. My eating is all over the place. Its like food sounds great until its in front of me and I eat a bite or two then I'm done and starving in a few hours. Kinda strange.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)?baby blue and red
  • @maggiemadeit I hear ya on the feeling thick part! I don't really have much of a bump but I feel like my waist and hips are wider. I put on a summer dress this weekend it hugged my hips and I looked so much wider than before..DH says its cute but I already feel like I'm not going to be one of the ladies that only has a bump.
  • @bug_hunter Fellow introvert here! I haven't fully figured out how to tell work because I don't want a bunch of people coming up to my desk and congratulating me or asking how I'm feeling (the 'how are you feeling?' from anyone but my husband or immediate family really gets me because the truth is really personal and also isn't what most people want to hear).
I understand your wanting to elope too. There was only one thing I cared about for my wedding and that was for the guest list to be very small. Unfortunately, I had to compromise because my Mediterranean husband has a big, close family (made bigger by divorce and 2nd marriages) and we cut out as many people as we felt we could and the final guest count was still over 100 people (80% of which was his family). Yikes! I was a really chill bride but the guest list was the one thing that stressed me out. I hope you figure it out and are able to have a wedding you can feel comfortable with and enjoy!
  • @mayoduck It's nice to hear from someone who can relate. I'm also putting off telling my advisors and colleagues because I'm not ready for the attention and don't feel like answering a bunch of questions about what's going on inside of my body. I can't even imagine how weird it is to be pregnant when I actually start showing! I feel like it'll be impossible to be left alone.
  • This thread is for those due March 1 (and earlier to March 9)

    Due date: 3/9

Any appointments? Questions?: I have a check-up on the 10th.

Rants/Raves?: There is a baby boom in my hallway at work. My best friend at work is having her baby on Thursday, another teacher’s wife is due two weeks before I am, and ANOTHER just old us he and his wife are expecting after a long and difficult TTC journey. Hooray for babies! Double rave: I’m going out of town this weekend to meet up with some ladies from my June2017 BMB. So excited for a mini Mom vacation and to meet these ladies I’ve been talking to for so long!

How are you feeling?:  I’m finally starting to stabilize on the nausea and exhaustion fronts (knock on wood). DD and I were both sick last week and are finally back to normal-ish.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color? I love purples, but if you were judging by my wardrobe alone, black, black, and more black.
  • Due date: March 2

Any appointments? Questions?: No appointments until 9/25.

Rants/Raves?:  My ongoing rant: let this blump turn into a bump! I had a patient comment that I was looking “stout” the other day. I’ve actually lost weight this trimester, I don’t need to know how I look. Rave: DH and I had sex yesterday first time since my SCH dx and since I got cleared by my OB and....WE’RE STILL GOOD TODAY!! However, we sounded like teenagers with the “I’m not hurting you, right?” Haha

How are you feeling?:  Headaches are totally a thing now and they’re killing me. Sleep is awful right now too. Nausea seems to be better the past few days.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Purple!
  • @bug_hunter I’m the same way with my parents. I told my husband I was afraid to tell family because that meant that they figured out we had unprotected sex (we’ve been married 2 years-I’m assuming they already figured it out).  Glad everything went well though!
  • Due date: 8 March

Any appointments? Questions?: Next ultrasound is scheduled for October 16 (I'll be 20 weeks). I have to go to the GP to get my referral to the hospital. With that, I'm supposed to be seen around 16weeks to discuss what my plans are re. continuing to see my GP or get an OB, and I want to being up having a repeat c-section (this hospital basically refuses to do elective c-sections and I don't know if they'll consider mine an elective). I should have got the referral last week, but when I went my GP told me I had a basal cell carcinoma on my face and I kind of forgot about everything else.

Rants/Raves?: I got the BCC cut out of my face Monday, and now have to wear a dressing all week. I look ridiculous. Everything is good with bub, so I'm just concentrating on fixing this ATM. I gave my notice to leave my terrible job, so that's both relieving and scary seeing as I'm now unemployed. I haven't been unemployed since I was 14.

How are you feeling?: So much better. I had a good nt scan and my hg has eased up (which is way earlier then last pregnancy). I hope I stay good for the rest of the pregnancy. I'm still exhausted, but at least I'm not reliant on meds to be a human.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? I love purple.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • Due date: 9/7 or 9/9

Any appointments? Questions?: Not until 9/19 I’m excited because DH will finally be able to come to an appointment

Rants/Raves?: Rave: I’m at home today on a personal day I never take my personal days but today is different. DH and I are good friends with a hockey coach who coached for the Washington Capitals last year. Today is his day with the Stanley cup and he’s bringing it to a local town near us. We have been invited to go to a brunch with the coach (our friend) and a lot of my DH old friends, co-workers, etc. I’m looking forward to it.

How are you feeling?: still nauseous every evening and sometimes in the morning depending on how early I get hp

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Usually I just say pink but honestly it kinda changes by the season and my mood
  • This thread is for those due March 1 (and earlier to March 9)

    Due date: March 9th

Any appointments? Questions?: just had one yesterday! Got to hear the heartbeat and asked about all my random symptoms

Rants/Raves?: I’m just so ready for the nausea and exhaustion to go away. I keep having moments of relief and thinking it’s going and then it comes back full force
  • Due date: 3/7

Any appointments? Questions?: I have an appointment tomorrow. No ultrasound, but will get to hear the heartbeat which will be reassuring. I am nervous because now my close friends and family know, but if everything goes well we are going to make it social media official.

Rants/Raves?: Rave - My family has been so sweet. I went back to my hometown this weekend for and wedding to visit with everyone and we shared the news. It was a really great moment. Rant - MH had to head back early and accidently took my car keys with him. Since he was 5 hours away, this became a logistical nightmare. Haha. I am home, but my car is still at my hometown, so we have to make the return trip this weekend. I need REST! Lol.

How are you feeling?: Nausea is better and my appetite is definitely increasing. Have been getting killer headaches, but feeling like I'm on the upswing of things.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Blue.
  •  @lalalauren15 oh my gosh! That's quite a rant; I'd be really annoyed too! Wishing you speedy and uneventful travel experiences to bring your car back home!
  • Due date: March 9th

    Any appointments? Not until 9/24
    Questions?: none right now.
Rants/Raves?: rant: my back and hips have been hurting so bad when I sleep. And that leads me to my rave. My husband ordered a pregnancy pillow for me. But since he's gone I had no clue which one he ordered. But he got like the best rated pregnancy pillow and this thing is freaking huge!!! He's so good to me.

How are you feeling?: overall pretty good. Just some achiness when sleeping. And I feel like a beached whale already whenever I lay on the couch and then try to get up. Haha!
GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Purple... Any shade, but mostly the darker shades.
  • @mayoduck it was definitely a mess, but thank you so much! I did learn that for newer cars if you want a new key made you have to get your car towed to the dealership, so making sure my spare key is readily available from now on! haha.
  • Hope all you ladies with the summer colds are feeling better! @mamaoftwomonkeys @mschanandlerbong1214 @lovesclimbing

    Due date: March 8th

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment on Tues. Gonna ask doc where my uterus is (i.e., if I've actually popped, lol).

Rants/Raves?: I've been in a pretty foul mood all week. Praying for some external force to adjust my attitude b/c I can't seem to initiate internally  :D

How are you feeling?: I've had more physical symptoms in my lower abdomen which is why I suspect maybe my uterus has moved up. Also a slight increase in appetite and nausea . Mostly just dealing with heightened emotions and insecurities though - damn hormones. I'm thinking of scheduling to see a therapist sooner rather than later (doc recommended getting one in anticipation of postpartum depression).

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Like them all, just depends on how it's represented.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead!  :)<3
  • Due date: 3/6/19

Any appointments? Questions?: No appointments until the end of Sept

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I have been stalking to Counsyl site for my genetic results so I can (hopefully) rule out any chromosomal abnormalities and be more open with telling people and let my girls know.  I asked today and they're with my doctor who hasn't let me know that they were there or what the results are, and didn't return my call. Now I have to wait until at least Monday and I am dyyyyying.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good actually, but I overdid a workout on Monday and did some ab exercises I probably shouldn't have (because I am waiting on those darn test results before I feel comfortable telling the coach I am pregnant) and now my upper abs are seizing up when I curl forward and it's painful.

GTKY: What is/are your favorite color(s)? Red with green being a close second. :)

Hope everyone with colds starts to feel better!  I am the odd man out on the heat - I love it!  I will complain about the amount of rain and then flash flood warnings for this weekend though because I just cannot with the amount of mud in my backyard and a giant dog who loves to roll in it.
