@poshspice Yessss s'mores! That sounds heavenly. I can't believe we haven't done s'mores this entire summer. Definitely need to get on that before the weather changes.
I was so excited for my first appointment on 9/24, but then remembered it's just with a nurse to talk about general pregnancy questions. The wait to find out if baby is healthy/with a heartbreak is excruciating.
@poshspice how did he make them? I made one over my gas fireplace earlier this week, but it was harder than expected. Wondering if there's an easier way...
@MegEn1 isn’t that the cutest when they talk to the baby! MH was sitting at the table working on his laptop the other night, and I was standing next to him. He just randomly hugged me around the waist and put his head on my stomach, because I was there, and then said something like “this crap is frustrating”, talking about what he was working on. He then realized it, looked up and said, “So the first word I said to the baby was ‘crap’, great.” LOL. Poor second children.
@k2k2tog first, I am teaching myself to knit and I love your username. I think DH just microwaved them, TBH lol. If we're feeling less lazy, we'll toast them over the burners on the stove lol. We've done this over gas burners, coils, and flat top, and it all works.
@poshspice the microwave, of course! We lived for 7 years without a microwave and have only just gotten one about a week ago. I keep forgetting that we have it but I definitely used to make smores like that when I was a kid.

@MegEn1 really happy to hear you told your hubs *TW* I know the tendency to keep it quiet in case you miscarry but after going through that three times, we tell everyone right away now!!!! After our second I realized it just isn’t something I can go through alone, and frankly we shouldn’t have to!!!!

@k2k2tog thank you! I'm currently working on a toddler size blanket for DD in mistake stitch. I apparently have trouble counting to 2 because I've gotten to the end of a row more than once and realized I messed up somewhere and have to undo it all the way back to the mistake. It's going to take me 3 years to finish it at this rate lol.
@BWhitta WOW that's fast! I crochet as well - I have a blanket for my daughter I've been working on for about 8 months and it's not even halfway finished! I prefer crochet for blankets and knitting for clothing.
@poshspice I have many a project that has taken me years to finish! No shame.

@k2k2tog haha, well they’re small newborn blankets, working on a bigger granny square now. Also, I work from home and this is my really slow season so I basically just sit all day and crochets haha.

PSA: This website is great. My OB's office recommended it and was just able to chat with an expert about all kinds of things. I came down with a cold yesterday, so I've been bugging my OB a lot about what is safe to take, like cough drops with menthol or echinacea, and she referred me to this website. It was super helpful! https://mothertobaby.org/
I AM NOT at all affiliated with this website or organization. I just had a great experience and wanted to share in case anyone else is type A like me and wants to bug their OB constantly; here is another resource. The chatting with the expert was free. I just had to give them my email address, but it was worth it.
I just totally splurged on a new diaper bag I probably didn’t need I’ve been wanting to try out the Fawn Design diaper bags and fell in love with the navy one. I’m trying to justify it since I’ve had the same bag for 2 years now.
@BWhitta still, impressive! I don't get time to knit much anymore, particularly because I've been passing out on the couch at about 8:30 every night since finding out about this baby. But I do have some plans to get a few things off my needles before May!

@poshspice Knitting is great! I'm an avid knitter, or I was until I gave myself tendentious in the elbow making a pair of socks. The most old-lady injury ever! Now that I'm preggers though I'm thinking about trying to knit some baby stuff, just for fun. Maybe stuff with a bigger gauge and a heavier weight so my arm doesn't fall off.
@k2k2tog Yeah that smaller gauge is killing me right now. Baby's going to have a pile of bulky wool blankets, that's for sure. Those knit up in an hour.
This thread makes me so happy seeing other knitters and crocheters! I've done a bit of knitting in the past and hoping to learn more but I love to crochet and that's pretty much all I do in my free time! I've made so many hats and baby blankets for friends and family lately so I'm really excited that I can finally start to make some for my own little one now! The first thing I did when we found out from our surrogate that the transfer worked was crochet a newborn hat and I'm planning on making a blanket as soon as I get back home to my yarn stash!
@BWhitta@k2k2tog@rfurf SO happy to see other crocheters & knitters. I seldomly meet anyone who does and usually feel like a granny because I love to crochet. I made one blanket for both of my kids and am really looking forward to picking colors for this baby.
Wow! With so many other knitters and crocheters here, we might need a regular crafting check in! My last BMB started up a monthly crafting thread when we switched over to FB so we could share all our crafty projects.

I can do basic knitting and crochet, but nothing fancy. I’d love to learn how to make cute Etsy-ish things...
Cross-stitching is my outlet. Currently trying to finish up a birth record for my niece so I can start on something for this baby. Just having a hard time picking out the pattern. If I weren’t team green and knew for a fact that I was having a girl, I’d do this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CRLZ73K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZwxKBb78ZEYVH
(part of me wants to just start it anyways and if I end up with a boy, I can do something else)
I knit and crochet a bit but my thing right now is quilting. I’m still working on a cool, modern quilt for DS for his new bedroom (OMG, he’s gonna have to move bedrooms sooner than later now! Wow! This just hit me that my baby isn’t going to be my baby anymore! ), but now I’ll have to make another for this one when they come along.
@jarethinafrock I recently started doing some cross stitching, too! I have to keep my hands moving so my brain doesn’t completely go crazy, haha, I just have no room in my brain for anything

@SpaceBurger Same here. I find it SO hard not to just bump all day at my desk. I get annoyed when I actually have to complete tasks haha. Also eating allll the things over here.
Am I the only one who is NOT a knitter?! Not crafty at all. I will buy baby blankets from you all
I'm on a very important work call where I could be called on at any time to sound like I know what I am talking about and I am having such a hard time not falling asleep. Send energy.

@BWhitta@k2k2tog@rfurf@MegEn1@sparrowsnest22 I also love to knit and crochet! Would definitely be down for a craft thread. I haven't had a ton of time to knit recently, and I'm still recovering from a major sock phase. Blankets sound amazing right now. What patterns are you using?
@sparrowsnest22 I have one friend who crochets but other than her it's mostly just older women who I've met that crochet. I've always got something to talk about when I work with the elderly so I think they've rubbed off on me!
@k2k2tog I love the idea of a monthly crafting check in! It's so fun to see other people's crafting projects and get ideas!
I don't know how to knit or crochet, but I do like to quilt when I have time. Though admittedly, I'm a bit of a novice and have only completed 2 in the last 5 years!
@jarethinafrock I have never cross stitched, but I saw an ultrasound picture cross stitched on Etsy, I think, that was amazing! I would love to learn how, simply to be able to do that with my favorite of each child's ultrasound pics!
My biggest crafty passion, if you can call it crafting, is cake decorating. Maybe it's more of a hobby than a craft. Either way, I enjoy it!
