I had my high risk appointment this morning. They said my fluid looks good so I don't think I have polyhydramnios. He is measuring 1 week ahead at 27 weeks 1 day. I have my OB appointment this afternoon so it'll be interesting to see what she says about that. I'll keep you guys posted after that. On the bright side all looks great for the stuff they couldn't get last time we did the fetal echocardiogram!
Good luck to everything taking the GD test this week and congrats to those that passed!
I had an appointment on Tuesday. We listened to baby girl's heart. I didn't realize until the drive home that my midwife didn't tell me bpm. She was talking to me about the GD test and to take it in two weeks since I was 25 weeks and I was like uhhh... I'm 23 weeks.. Apparently it was in the system from my last period, which isn't correct since I O'd two weeks late. So she fixed that. I had the order and get that done in 4 weeks. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, at 27 weeks, and then I am going every two weeks! It's crazy that we are getting so close.

@scaredunprepared Thank you! Since I have GD it makes it so sizing is a little stricter so I'll see what she says. I mean my numbers are fine so I don't think she'll be upset or anything.
Thanks for asking @temmetime! It was a miracle over here too -- doctor wasn't on time but also wasn't ridiculously late, so A didn't have time to get super squirrely. I gained 5 lbs from last appointment but he wasn't concerned, thankfully. I realized that I'd actually double-booked that morning so I wasn't sure if we would make it to A's speech appointment, but everything went so well that I had time to go to Bojangles for a breakfast biscuit (ha) and hang out at home for 15 minutes before heading out again.
Next appointment is scheduled for a month out, even though I'm 26 weeks and the every-two-weeks visits start at 28 weeks. I'm not even mad. The appointments are sooo boring right now that I'd rather not waste my time coming in. Baby is moving regularly and I'm not having any serious symptoms, so. Meh.

@PensiveCrayon I'm glad it went well overall! I am jealous that you got to go another 4 weeks - I had to come back at 28 for the rhogam shot or else she didn't need to see me until 30 weeks. Only like 1098234 appointments to go!
Boo @temmetime! At least it gets slightly more exciting toward the end? (I actually don't know, because I was with a midwife last time so she never did ultrasounds or cervical checks.) Oh, next time I do have a blood draw for iron levels and syphilis

I feel like the appointments get less interesting this late on! Before, I was all relieved to hear the heartbeat every time, but now since I can feel him moving around in there, it's not like I need the reassurance. My OB in the past has made guesses of baby's size, based on feeling my stomach, and she's been fairly close each time, so that's something fun to look forward to.
@katy0990 no, I don't think so! I was definitely curious at the end though if I was dilated at all. I think I ended up being checked at least 30 times before I had DS because he was sooo slow coming out so they really started to hurt & I won't be volunteering them this time.
I flat out refused cervical checks until I was 41 weeks, and even then I didn't want one. I know they don't progress anything, and while I was interested to know if I was dilated, it wasn't enough to have one. Well, I regret doing it because it made me spot and be crampy all day long, which was not fun on top of being 41 weeks pregnant. I refused at the next appointment that next Monday and didn't get another one until I was in the hospital to be induced. #TeamNoCervicalChecks
@katy0990 ok, I might have exaggerated - but I swear to you it was at least 20. The nurses checked me at least every hour once things were progressing and then they stalled even though I was still having contractions. Sooo much cramping and soreness.
@Jens_Hoes I’m too nosy to not ask, especially after not progressing last time, but yes, the spotting and cramping afterward sucks!
Same. I know it means nothing, but I can't pass up knowing more about what my body is doing. With both kids, I never got past half a cm before going to the hospital to give birth.
I had a good OB visit at 24 weeks today, baby continues to be strong & active, and my thyroid levels are great.
But...I failed my 1 hr GD screen. Last time I failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hr. Not looking forward to the three hour test. Barely made it through the hour today without puking. For some reason just thinking about all this makes me want to cry.
Other than that fun, I don’t have any more appointments until 28 weeks when I have my next OB visit and growth ultrasound (because of my thyroid).
@temmetime Oh yeah if we are counting checks while in labor, I had waaay too many, too. I got so discouraged because I sat at a 4 for like 18 hours. I felt so terrible because I knew it wasn’t the nurse’s fault, but I really hated her.
@Katzalia we had an appointment yesterday and the glucose test made my wife feel terrible all day. Sorry you have to go through more!
We are 26 weeks today and at the ultrasound baby was measuring small in the 8th percentile. We are high risk so have a high risk OB and he did not seem concerned at all about it. Just said it was something to watch. The placenta was fine and everything else seemed to be flowing and working as it should. They scheduled us out 4 weeks again so we won't get in to see the DR until 30 weeks. Maybe I am just freaking out for no reason but I feel super frustrated with the Dr being so chill about the whole thing. Good news is she passed the GD tests.
@mamatwopointoh I’m sorry you’re having worries! My understanding (not that I am in any way a professional) is that they worry less about what the percentile is and more that it stays about the same. So if you went from 20th percentile to 8th then that might be more of a concern. Also, I have had to have growth scans for both of my pregnancies because of a uterine septum and they will only do them about every 6 weeks. They say anything more frequent would be useless because they can’t get an accurate result of how much growth has occurred in that time. So your doc may not really be able to do anything but wait and see right now. Hopefully everything is just fine and baby is just petite!
@katy0990@rosebud332 thanks for that, it definitely helps to think of it as just a snapshot. Dr did say that if the next measurement is in line with this one that he might just be petite so I'm going to just go with that! He is super active and everything else has been normal throughout the pregnancy.
Re: Weekly Appointments • w/o 9.2
@katy0990 I have a family history (my cousin) of a pretty significant heart defect. But not anything myself that puts baby at risk.
Good luck to everything taking the GD test this week and congrats to those that passed!

@texas_t Mine still requires the Group B strep for c-sections. You could always refuse the cervical checks, if you don’t want them.
