I was supposed to have my glucose test later next week, but since I'm just sitting around in a medical building, we just bumped it up to 8am tomorrow morning I get my trusty pertussis vaccine at some point this week too.
Meeee! Just a regular boring check on Wednesday. Not super looking forward to the hourlong wait for the doctor with my son (who would have been staying with his grandparents if they’d been able to come down ) but we’ll deal. At least it’s not during naptime this time!

28 week check up on Thursday then to the lab for my GD screen. I'm terrified I'll fail the 1 hour again this time. Also, how the heck am I almost 28 weeks?!?!
@PensiveCrayon sorry you need to bring your son along to your appointment. Maybe he'll be super well behaved and you can both go for ice cream or another yummy treat afterward!
I'm going in for my follow up anatomy scan FINALLY. Scheduled for wednesday. Fingers crossed baby girl is super cooperative so they can get good pics of her heart and hands, and hopefully all is good so no need for further testing. I've spent these last 4 weeks worrying, and I really just want peace of mind at this point.
@scaredunprepared I hope they are able to get everything they need at the follow up scan!
Thursday morning I have a high risk appointment for them to do the fetal echocardiogram again to get some clearer images and audio. It's been a long month waiting for this follow up echo. Then that afternoon I have regular OB for a sizing ultrasound because of gestational diabetes and check in with my doctor.
@mamajudec2018 thanks, me too! I hope your follow up echo is uneventful and growth US shows baby at a good size. Like @echo-charlietango mentioned, been thinking about you and your mystery swelling. How are you doing?
@PensiveCrayon I HATE having to take DS to appointments. It's painful. Good luck! @scaredunprepared FX baby cooperates for follow up scan!
AFM: I have my first apt with my OB on Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to getting back to see him. And my apt was moved to 5pm so H can actually make it! It'll most likely be the last apt he can get to so I'm glad he can be there. I'll get my requisition for my glucose test which I'll probably do next week when I'm off work.
Add me to the GD 1 hr screening this week. I have that plus regular OB checkup on Thursday. My allergist still hasn’t gotten bavk to me about whether or not I’m cleared for using the orange glucola (allergy to oranges, and apparently they don’t have any other flavor readily available). Hoping I hear back soon.
@Jens_Hoes@hkom GL with the GD screening! Fx for not having to do the three hour one.
@scaredunprepared glad to hear you sorted the insurance and can get back in for the rest of your a/s. So stressful!
@mamajudec2018 also wondering how your face is doing? And GL with your appointment.
@PensiveCrayon good luck & hope you have a toddler-friendly experience.
@kristah2 yay for getting to see your OB and your H getting to be there too.
GL to everyone with their glucose screenings this week! @mamajudec2018 I hope your echo goes well and the sizing scan with your OB. I hope they see everything they need to see!

Oh hey, I passed my GD screen! Good luck to everyone else! Now I'm just sitting here waiting to be wheeled to my ultrasound, which could be in 3 minutes or 3 hours - it's a mystery.
@katy0990@Katzalia@scaredunprepared Thank you for checking in on my face! Well, the swelling and numbness are both unfortunately still there. I did a full 6 days of steroids and it didn't help so at this point I'm just going to wait it out unless for some reason it gets like way worse. I'm thinking it's just one of those weird pregnancy things.
@mamajudec2018 Sorry that you’re still swollen and numb Hope it clears up and goes back to normal after the birth (if not sooner of course) - FX!

@mamajudec2018 Awww, I am sorry the steroids didn't help.. Just watch - it will go away the day after you give birth and you can say "I told you so" to all of the doctors...
@mamajudec2018 Did you say you have an ultrasound coming up? If so, I’m curious if your fluid is elevated. I know I had mentioned polyhydramnios to you previously and I really wonder if that is what’s causing it.
@katy0990 Yes, I have two on Thursday with different doctors. I asked my OB about that and she said they will be checking my fluid at all of my sizing ultrasounds especially since polyhydramnios is common with Gestational Diabetes. So I will definitely let you know what they say afterwards!
@mamajudec2018 ugh I'm sorry to hear the steroids haven't helped. Hopefully the answers will come in the near future!
@hkom yay! Glad the GD came back negative. How was the US?
@kristah2 and @katzalia thanks for the support ladies. Hopeful all goes well at your appointments/US/GD tests!
@katy0990 insurance issues continue, but fortunately the hospital/ doctor billing are allowing us a discounted rate and payment plan, so we can actually afford all of these tests.
OB appt went well. Baby’s heart rate is 150 and I only gained a few pounds this time not 11 lol next appt in 3 weeks. Currently at the lab trying to not vomit up the glucose drink
I had my apt yesterday. I'm now even more confused if I want to try a VBAC or RCS. I have to do my glucose test this week. I'm thinking I might go Monday to get it out of the way. Then my next apt is in 2 weeks. I can't believe we're already at the point of going every 2 weeks!
@jens_hoes I’m glad it went well. Good luck with the GD test! @kristah2 It’s such a tough decision. I have changed my mind several times. Good luck with your GD test!
@mamajudec2018 I'm sorry you're still having the issue - I hope your appointments go well!
@PensiveCrayon how did your appointment go with A along?
@hkom Yay on passing GD! I hope the U/S went well!
Had my 28 week checkup this morning & all went well. I did gain 5 lbs in the last two weeks, but my dr didn't say a word about it. She said baby is measuring right on track & I'm doing really well. Boring is good! AND as a bonus I was out of there in less than an hour, which is miraculous for them.
@Jens_Hoes and @temmetime yes boring is good! I've said that about pregnancy since the beginning. I'd rather have an uneventful pregnancy, than one that keeps me on my toes. Glad all is well with both of you and babies!
Afm, I've mentioned in a few places but figured I'd update here too since this is probably where I should have updated first.
Follow up AS yesterday went well, baby is looking great, and very active, despite the car accident Tuesday. The tech seemed to be able to get good pics of her heart and hands despite lack of cooperation on baby's part. Now I just need to wait and see what the doc thinks of her heart to see if a fetal echo is necessary. The tech seemed to think it wouldn't be. Fingers crossed!
