My 2.5 year old has decided that the week before my due date is when he is playing with the idea of being done afternoon napping...nooooooooooooooooooo
@chillmama1518 my dd has been doing the same! We keep trying though because every 3rd day or so it catches up w her and she needs the sleep. Days she doesn’t sleep she watches a visual timer quietly for half the time and gets to look at books quietly on her bed the other half so that at least I have a chance for a mental break at the least!

@jhjocelyn yeah we’re succeeding with nap about every three days too! Luckily he is also resting fairly quietly in bed playing with stuffies while his groclock is in sleep mode so I can rest a bit but I was hoping he’d continue with a solid nap for at least baby’s first couple months...just bad timing! I’m going to keep fingers crossed this is just a quick phase and yours and mine go back to napping for us!
@chillmama1518 I hope yours does! Mine realistically won’t...she’s 4.5, I’ve been pushing it as it is...She does stay up super late with us, but also sleeps in super late (10:30p-8:30a is pretty normal around here).

For some reason I feel jealous of the ladies here with an early Sept DD. Mine is Sept 29. Last time my DD was beginning of the month and I wonder if the ladies in my previous BMB felt the same. Silly.
Also, DD has been chewing her cups and soothers lately. I inspect her soothers prob daily and I noticed a hole in one from her chewing. I was not planning on taking them away but now I need to. I will start tomorrow as tonight we are having a huge storm and the thunder is loud. I gave her a new soother for tonight, and will see how she does without it tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
@mrsman2018 I'm assuming a bunch of people moved to a FB group a while back, though I didn't see the discussion and still see most of who I consider to be regulars on here. I would be interested in a FB group cuz this BMB is beyond dead! Usually it would be blowing up around now with babies starting to arrive, ladies trying to figure out if they're in labor, etc. We haven't even had Birth Story AW threads or HDBD threads the past couple weeks. Crazy. Gotta say I'm kinda bummed because I am still super close with my first BMB, talk to them every day and I don't know how I would manage without them! Maybe after more babies arrive things will pick back up or some people will want to move to FB and will be more active on there?
@mrsman2018@Car0liiine when I asked this before there were several people who replied that there is a closed/secret group on here...but no word on how to get in on that was provided, I assume it is an invite situation...I’m not in there. I agree I’m bummed it’s so dead around here, at a time where lots of us are now off work and will be soon up all hours of the night feeding tiny babies! It’s when I did my best Bumping last time around!
@chillmama1518 Well geeze, way to exclude people and kill the board culture. I am not familiar with how secret groups work on TB, didn't know they existed. You guys are welcome to sit with me over here at the loser table I guess!
There's no Facebook group, and there's nothing preventing anyone from starting any threads. Been a little busy myself with labor and infant and such to even get a birth story written. But nothing prevents anyone from starting threads or Facebook groups if they want them.

No facebook group. There actually was a public discussion a couple of months back about forming a private group vs. Facebook. I don't remember the thread..but it was not hidden....it was open discussion of what people preferred etc...
I don’t really care if there’s a Facebook group, personally. I’m a part of a well-established moms group from The Nest back when I was TTC DS 7 years ago. But the FTMs here might not know how to connect best with other moms. Hopefully they find a group locally or online.
I guess what maybe we’re getting at is, are we welcome to join the private group? Say we missed out on the previous discussion about it (I definitely did) and have now asked a couple times only to be told there is one but...nothing else. My presence on this app has been hit and miss at times due to being busy with work/toddler, on holidays with no cell reception, life gets hectic, etc. I think we just feel we’re missing out!
I actually took the time to draft a fresh September check-in thread, and then the bump erased it while i was searching for the perfect gif. :s But anyone is welcome to post whatever threads they wish to see and participate in. Nobody owns the board. ;)
Yeah, i was gonna start doing the HDBD threads myself, but participation was dwindling anyways so I figured there must not be much interest. It's nobody's responsibility to make these threads happen, i am mostly just surprised that there isn't enough interest. And with the private group thing - what @chillmama1518 said. I remember someone saying there was a discussion somewhere, but it just seems like there wasn't much effort to include everyone who might be interested and then over the group was established it seems to be no way to join those lucky enough to have been involved in the original discussion. And I totally remember it taking me a long time to get my birth story up and wondering how the heck some ladies managed to get them up so quick!? Those early days are just so full! *Wonderfully* full!
With my first, I think I got the birth announcement up within a day or so, but it was probably a week or so before I got much else posted. So I’m not terribly surprised we haven’t been seeing much from the new moms yet. Hopefully they’ll be able to pick back up a bit once they get settled in their new routines.
I’m annoyed I’m actually going to hit my due date and still be pregnant. I never thought, with my third kid, that I’d still be pregnant come the 3rd of September.
Not cool, kid. Not cool.
And if baby comes tomorrow, I’m going to be doubly annoyed because I’ll miss DS’s first day of school on Tuesday.
As of this morning, at 39 and 5, I was more pregnant with baby #3 than my previous two babies. My OB said new guidelines say inductions between 39 and 41 weeks are ok, so I scheduled one for today, thinking for sure he’d be here by then. My oldest also starts Kinder this week, and with my mom needing to travel some time to get here to stay with my girls, scheduling just felt right.
Well, all that to say, I was indeed pregnant with him the longest, but our induction worked and baby boy is here!
Here’s hoping you can hold out to a day that works best for your family! It’s so hard to feel pulled in so many different directions, I pray you get a beautiful birthing experience and that you are also able to be there for your big kiddos first day!!
@MrsBigTime I’d rather deal with going late than get induced. Since I’m AMA, my practice won’t let me go passed 41 weeks now. So hopefully this kid gets his/her act together soon.
Back to the discussion about the private group...I asked to be invited to it when it was started and never got an invitation. I went to the private group and requested to be invited and have not been approved. It feels very clickish, whether it was meant to be or not.
I was 3 weeks and 2 days more pregnant this time than with my first (he was a late term preemie, but even so). My family almost always delivers before 38 weeks, so going to 38+6 was hard on me, especially as I started having consistent contractions in a pattern at 34 weeks. Waiting is hard.
