@catlady2015 I hope not working is what you want, but there are people out there that will still hire you. And I’ve noticed that lots of people look like they are pregnant all the time!!! So unless you tell them, they may assume you are just heavy. You don’t have to tell them even though you may feel like you should.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
    9w0d today. Passed all milestones.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Still have stupid PGAL brain every time I feel good for more than an hour. I think the pregnancy hormones are causing some emotional stuff this week. I haven’t had a lot of that so far.

    3. Any appointment updates?
Next appt 9/4. Will probably get another US.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Still pretty freaked out about twins. Told my boss I’m going out at 28 weeks, he’s been super supportive so far but hasn’t responded to my email yet.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!!
Currently Chris Pratt. I like following his insta because he has a farm so I feel like we could be friends in real life.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
10w3d, all milestones have been passed.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Mentally so much better after seeing little Blobbie last week. Physically, mostly just exhausted and some RLP (or at least I think it's RLP). Most of my nausea and aversions seem to be going away, though super smell sometimes can still cause problems.

    3. Any appointment updates?
First OB tomorrow. I go to a family health clinic, so hopefully they can refer me to a good OB practice.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    None right now.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!!
Orlando Bloom, my middle school and high school celeb crush, still holds a place in my heart. But now, Shemar Moore is probably my #1 celeb crush.

    @purpleteacher82 yay for a good u/s!!

@catlady2015 keeping my fx for you as you deal with the job hunt!

@3rdtime_charmed PGAL brain is tough, I feel like I’m doing ok and then out of nowhere something will freak me out and leave me a crying mess. Hopefully it will get better as we progress?

@southerngirlinwi you’re giving me hope saying your ms is starting to go away!

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 9+6, both milestones passed

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally doing much better after a great u/s Friday. Physically I’m miserable. Caught a cold from DS and nausea and congestion are a cruddy combination. Praying that the nausea starts to subside as I get closer to the end of 1st tri.

    3. Any appointment updates? Next one is 8/28 - hoping I can get NIPT blood drawn then.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? DH has been extra awesome taking care of me when I’m struggling and doing more around the house.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! Ryan Reynolds!

@3rdtime_charmed Right there with ya on PGAL brain. Sending you positive thinking vibes.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 12 weeks tomorrow. I had a missed miscarriage before so I'm not exactly sure if I have hit my last milestone or not.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically better which make mentally much harder.

    3. Any appointment updates? Next Wed. hurry up wed

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? rave Mexican food seriously give me all the fajita chicken with sour cream and avocados. Rants we have a 20 week old lab puppy (yep found out we were pregnant the week after we brought him home lol) that still gets up 3-4 times a night to potty. Problem is he starts crying/ yelping so we take him outside now its turned into if I yelp I get to go outside to play at 4am...

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! Can I blame pregnancy brain? I can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

@bluebell08 oof lab puppies are the worst! Ours is 3.5 years now, it’s worth it! The baby and the puppy will grow up together and be best friends.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 8 weeks! In another week and a half, I'll be past my milestone.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I am doing okay with both... Not great, but not horrible. The fear and worry creeps in from time to time, but as my mom likes to remind me, every day I'm one day closer to the "safe zone." Physically I'm still battling fatigue and nausea, but I'm getting better at managing it.

    3. Any appointment updates? Next appt on 8/27 for a reassurance ultrasound. The midwife at the practice I go to asked if I wanted it and I told her I'd say yes to anything she offered, haha.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing today.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! I don't have a big celebrity crush right now, but I used to be all about Tom Hardy!

@purpleteacher82 Yay for a good u/s!! So happy for you.

@catlady2015 Girl I would not want to be looking for work right now either. FX for you!

@3rdtime_charmed Hormones have been messing with my emotions this week too. Hugs to you <3

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 12 weeks. Nope.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally: I am so flipping forgetful right now, it's quite ridiculous. Forgot my wallet yesterday and I had an appt with a specialist I'd never been to before! Physically: Still tired and unmotivated. I'm currently fighting my own hesitation to get some much needed cleaning done.

    3. Any appointment updates? Nope

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing today.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! Don't really have one right now, though I will say the 2 younger Hemsworth brothers are mighty nice to look at!
Because it's hilarious and cute, I wanted to add that my 5 yo has a bit of a love of Tony Stark/Ironman. Well she's fascinated with all the Avengers, really, but Ironman is her favorite because he reminds her of her Daddy; "he can fix things just like Tony Stark".

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 11 weeks. No milestones yet. I have a ultrasound on the 27th and if that's clear, then I'll be abla to breath a bit better. Won't be completely clear for a while.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Still struggling. Not much I can do for either feeling. Just suck it up ATM.

    3. Any appointment updates? Just the 27th ultrasound. I need to have the blood test for the nt scan, but I've someone lost the request form so will have to go get another one tomorrow.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm part of an Australia pregnancy app. Someone has made an insensitive comment regarding terminations for medical reasons (what my loss was) and I got pissy. Can I get kicked out of groups? If I'm not, I'm likely black listed.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! Taron Egerton. I'd be all up in that if I meet him.

:* 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 9 w 5. Almost all are passed.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Starting to have some slight physical improvement (have been able to eat some meat AND smell it cooking without too much issue) and trying to remain positive. Have got to see the heartbeat flicker two times which has been good and I’ll go for another ultrasound in a couple weeks for some more reassurance. Like some of you mentioned now that I’ve told my parents I’m worried something will happen.

    3. Any appointment updates?
NIPT on upcoming Tuesday, super excited to learn gender

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
My DH is a saint for putting up with me and has been doing a fantastic job keeping us fed and the house clean.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!!
Defintiely either Chris Pratt or (and?) Chris Hemsworth
    B):#

@LilLambie he is a total cutie and I love his voice - but have you seen the Kingsmen movies? Lord the butt play in those movies just totally turned me off. I know I’m probably just a prude but UG lol

@Lbloom so cute! DD randomly calls DH “super dad” and it is just the cutest (e.g. hiya super dad!)

@lelkcot He’s hilarious! We just watched Deadpool 2 and I was dying. Love the online banter between him and Blake too.

    3. Any appointment updates? Saw my OB yesterday! Got to see LO moving all over waving their arms and legs and I got to hear the heartbeat this time instead of just seeing it!

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope!

Hi ladies. I’m sorry for intruding here but I am hoping to ask for some advice.

I have a casual friend that I see almost daily at daycare. Our daughters are the same age, and we occasionally get together outside of school. Over coffee several months ago she confided in me that she had suffered a loss last year, and that it had been especially hard on her because her husband doesn’t want to try again.

I am ready to start telling people about my pregnancy, and at 12 weeks I am afraid it will soon be obvious. I don’t want to just blurt it out when I see her at pick-up time, and I also want to tell her before she sees my growing bump. But I don’t want to invite her to coffee just to tell her news that might be hard to hear.

What, in your experience, is the best way to be sensitive in this situation? My inclination is to email to give her space to hear the news without me sitting in front of her, but is that too impersonal? Any suggestions for what to say, or what not to say, in this delicate situation? We’re not terribly close, but I certainly want to be sensitive, especially after she told me about her loss, and especially considering that we see each other regularly.

Thanks in advance for your help ladies. Much appreciated.

@maggiemadeit One of my best friends got pregnant just a few month after my loss. She texted me her news a few days before we were going to see each other. It gave me time to process my emotions and I appreciated not having to put on a happy face when it really felt like my heart was breaking inside. Of course, I was happy for her, but I was better able to express that after I was given time to process. It may seem impersonal, but I appreciated a text rather than being caught off-guard.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 8 weeks 3 days. All milestones passed.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Pretty good, just tired more often. Have total preggo brain a lot lately. If I don't stay focused and do something right then, I'll forget.

    3. Any appointment updates? Friday, second ultrasound, then they are kicking me out of the fertility clinic.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel like I fell off my decent eating habits this week. Nothing sounds good, unless it's cheese or pizza.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!! Taylor Kitsch - cute bad boy from Friday Night Lights...now he's turned into a total hunk!

@purpleteacher82 I keep forgetting we have the same due date! Good to hear your ultrasound went well! <3

@maggiemadeit  An email / text would be good
. Like you said, it would give her a chance to process it. I'm sure she will be really happy for you! Since it's been quite some time since her loss, she's had a lot of time to process things on her end. I'm sure you're not the 1st friend she's come across this year that is pregnant. It's very sweet of you to be looking out for her feelings, I know she will appreciate it.

@LilLambie Ugh, sorry you're having to deal with such ignorant people on that app. Some people are just ignorant and have no clue. Don't let their meanness bother you...they maybe doing you a favor if you get blacklisted if they are like that.

@maggiemadeit I agree that a text or email is probably the way to go. I would probably do it on the weekend so she has a day or two to process before she sees you again at drop off.

Do you ladies have any advice for dealing with these nerve-wracking changes in symptoms? My nausea was worst in weeks 5 and 6, still there but not as bad in week 7 and part of 8, but now I'm nearly 9 and it has really slacked off. This is messing with my head a lot. I try not to jump to the worst conclusion but it is hard not to.

TW for this next bit cause it could be upsetting

I also try to remind myself I had a good ultrasound with a heartbeat just a couple weeks ago, but that doubting part of my brain likes to remind me I saw a heartbeat on an ultrasound with my loss too.

    End TW

How do you all get through these tough moments? I'm having a hard time with it the last couple days.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?

    - Forgot to do this yesterday - 11 weeks 2 days today. I passed the six week mark, next up with 16 weeks and then 32 weeks. Once baby is born, alive and well then I will probably quit worrying as much.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?

    - I've been getting quite a few head aches, but I was getting those before pregnancy so I have no idea if it's related to pregnancy or whatever was going on before I got pregnant. I had to quit taking the medicine I was on for them just to be safe and now I'm suffering with these migraines/ head aches.

    3. Any appointment updates?

    - I have an appointment on the 28th for 12 week anatomy scan.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?

    - I am ready to skip to March and meet this baby. I'm trying to enjoy being pregnant, but the unknown just freaks me out and with my previous loses it makes being pregnant unenjoyable. Especially when you can't feel baby move. I think my mind will change once I feel baby move.

    5. GTKY- celebrity crush!!

    - Oh goodness. I think there are a lot of cute ones, but once I get to hear them in interviews it usually changes my perception of them ha. If I had to choose one it would be, Chris Pratt. He's always impressed me in interviews. Loved his fluff bod in Parks and Rec, thought he was adorbs. His body is definitely improved now, but I think his personality helps him all around.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.

@diaphena I’ve definitely had those moments too, especially since we started telling our family. I try and remind myself that every day that passes our chances are getting better. If you’re really struggling, maybe call your doctor and see if you can move an appointment to get in sooner, or come in for a reassurance scan/heartbeat check. This pregnant after loss stuff is tough.
  • Options
@diaphena I'm right there with you. Its tough. I've found that confiding in someone that I'm having a rougher morning or what ever is really helpful. Someone that I can truly talk openly to like DH or my SIL that both went through my previous loss with me. Getting the words out of my head has really helped. I totally understand it is hard to talk to people about but maybe try that.
Going on a walk with my dogs has also really helped in the afternoon. It keeps me from being able to just sit with my thoughts.

Sending you positive thoughts and peace.
  • Options
@lelkcot and @bluebell08 thank you both so much. I may call my mom tonight to let her reassure me some. I've been talking to DH who tries to be understanding, but it just isn't in his nature to worry. He doesn't really even think about having another loss, especially since the ultrasound. So he's supportive but doesn't really get it right now. Also, luckily I have an ultrasound appt for reassurance on 8/27 so I'm going to try to focus on that.

    One day at a time!
  • Options
@diaphena I totally get where you're coming from. My near constant nausea tapered off suddenly around 7 weeks and I was convinced it was a bad sign! It came back a few days later but has noticeably improved over the last two weeks (I'm 12 weeks now). My advice is - this is normal! Symptoms come and go. Certain symptoms (nausea, sore boobs) tend to decrease toward the end of your first trimester, as the placenta takes over hormone production and gives your body a break. Try to stay positive - I know, it's so much easier said than done! I just had my 12 week ultrasound today and despite my fluctuating symptoms and some terrifying, bright pink spotting at 9 weeks, baby is doing great! I'm confident that one week from today you'll have the same result.
