  • @Joslynj11 that’s fantastic, I love hearing those stories!! Hope you have a smooth pregnancy

@Drove2u that’s so great that your insurance covers for it! I had to pay sooo much money the first time around. Now for the transfer alone $3k plus meds etc.

  • @yelllow22 sorry to hear of your negative first beta. Did you have a second one yet to confirm those faint hpts? My fingers are still crossed for you!

@Joslynj11 AH OMG!!! i first read your initial update about your surprise pregnancy and was so excited. then i read it's twins and my mouth literally fell open haha! that's so amazing!!! what an amazing miracle!

My RE said he wouldn't have me go through another retrieval until I loose weight. I lost 10 lbs initially, but it's still not enough. So today is it, today is the first day of my new diet and I'm ready to get it together. I'm really hoping I can do another retrieval by fall now since it's definitely not happening by the summer. Although a big part of me hopes to be one of these miracle stories as well. Too bad my RE said it's 100% not going to happen with my PCOS.

  • @Joslynj11 CONGRATS!! that is amazing news!! I may be weird but my twin pregnancy was easier than my singleton, but it was also first so I could rest more. I think the biggest difference was the push to eat protein and more calories but mostly a lot of protein to help them grow and that the average twin gestation is 35weeks  so they will likely come earlier than your little girl. did you have two sacs or one? Di/di is lower risk than Mo/di and Mo/Mo is the most risky. Having twins is amazing. seeing them together is worth all the challenges.

our consulation appt is coming up in two weeks. I know we haven’t started the process yet but I feel way more relaxed  at least for now. Hahaha and also busier with a 16 month old. Time is flying!!
  • @tulips29 It was a chemical unfortunately. We didn’t jump right into another cycle. DH and I were kind of bumping heads and I guess needed time to process. We almost started second guessing our decision to have another child but now that the emotions have calmed down we said we would try again with the last 2 tested embryos we have and maybe stop there if it doesn’t happen.
Good luck with your diet, it’s hard work but you can do it! Are you following a specific plan?

  • @yelllow22 oh, i'm so sorry girl! It's easy to let emotions take over when you're going through something painful like that. But it sounds like you have a good plan now that you've processed it all. As for my diet, I'm just trying to do no carbs, healthy fats, lean meats...it worked for me before but I also went to the gym 4 times a week before baby. Now I feel like I have no time for anything! I rush to work, then rush home to see him for that precious 1-2 hours before he goes to bed, quickly have dinner and the day is over.

Ladies, I'm even ashamed to admit it, but I'm starting to experience those same feelings and emotions when we were trying to get pregnant and everyone around me was walking around with big bellies. I look at my beautiful boy and I am so so thankful for him, but I can't stop thinking that if the second transfer would have worked, I'd be 5 months pregnant by now. I want to give him a sibling so badly. DH says if we can't, then at least we have him, but I can't get rid of these thoughts and feelings. He says I should stop thinking our family isn't complete yet, but I can't help myself. I thought I was done with these thoughts, but they are haunting me again :disappointed: Sorry, I needed a vent...

@tulips29 for what it’s worth it seems like your feelings are completely normal. One of my mom friends who conceived her first with an iui is doing it again. And she’s also nervous and all of these emotions are popping up for her. She says it’s because the process from the first time is reminding her of all of those bad feelings. All I can say is hang in there and try to relax. :-)
  • @Drove2u thanks! I'm trying to do just that. I hope my comment didn't seem like I was feeling resentful of mamas on this board who have been able to get pregnant again through treatments or naturally. I am thrilled when I read your updates, ladies. I just always thought that I'd relax and feel more at ease with this whole struggle after we had a successful 1st transfer but all the old feelings creep up on me from time to time. Especially since I wanted to give A a sibling close to his age. He's almost 1.5 now and we're nowhere close to having baby #2. But I do remain hopeful that it'll happen one day soon again!

  • @tulips29 your feelings are so normal. I felt the same way when we came back to fertility treatments and I was blessed with twins the first time around. After failed IUI's I couldn't even be in the room with a pregnant woman. It doesn't mean you love your child any less or your not thankful for them. IF sucks. hugs and good luck with your next retrieval.

I had my consult today. And now have a phone call Monday to discuss finances. Praying that insurance will cover this again. If I can get my hysteroscopy done next week then we’re looking at around a July 4 transfer. If I can’t get it done this week then August transfer.

  • So I have not been on the bump in what feels like forever. I signed on today because we just started the process in June of trying for baby #2. It made my heart so happy to see you ladies on here and so many who are already prego! I'm so happy for all of you who have already gotten your BFP and will be praying with you who are all still trying. It seriously just made my day to see you all still on here! I know I keep up with some of you on FB too but this is still so fun to catch up and read how you have all been :)

@Drove2u - any news??? I know it's early but how are you feeling?

@tulips29 - I totally get those feelings too. I think part of it is that I want to give Eli a sibling so badly, part of it is I wish it could happen naturally too. Then I worry about it working again. It's all of the same insecurities as before, now we just have so much more on our minds with keeping tiny humans alive.

Eli is 19 months old which is absolutely crazy. He is seriously the best and we couldn't be having more fun with him. Every day its the best to see him learning and exploring new things! We still have 4 pgs tested embryos so we met with the Dr last month. I am supposed to start my period some time this weekend which means I'll start the pill again for 21 days and then hopefully FET in August if the preliminary tests go well. We picked "next best egg" without wanting to know gender. I haven't been on the pill in over a year so I'm a little nervous about beginning the shots again (even if it is less than before).

  • @griffin5413 aaahhhh!! That’s so exciting! I love watching you guys and watching Eli grow up on IG. and so excited you’re trying for a second!!

Thanks @tulips29 you are starting up again soon too right?

I took an hpt this afternoon and saw a very very faint line. I’m on day 5 post transfer. I searched back posts here and got a bfp with my daughter 4 days post transfer. I had a bfn yesterday. I’ll test again tomorrow morning and see.

Weve also been having a ton  of fun with our little one. She’s amazing!! And I would feel awful not being able to give her a sibling but at the same time I want her all to myself. Ha!

I wanted to jump in and say hi. I think I started participating here originally sometime around Nov 2015 and finally followed the May 2016 ivf group. I am in touch with some of you on FB since I had my son, but I see a lot other familiar names.  My son will be 18 months this weekend and he has been a joy to the entire family since he was the first grandchild on both sides. I went through another transfer this past May and I am now 10 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I've sort of been following the group that went through it this time around, but it's good to talk to others who are going though this a 2nd time, wherever you are in the process. So far (knock on wood) it's been much easier since we already had the embryo and I didn't need any surgeries. The doctor already had a plan based on how I responded last time. I've just been tired and expect it to get difficult taking care of my toddler at the end. He's a happy boy but he likes to be independent and fights me when I need to pick him up. He's fine once I get him and distract him. I'm also nervous about how to handle him once the baby is here.  Good luck to everyone who has transfers coming up and to everyone els who is currently pregnant. I hope to check in to read more updates on everyone.
  • @Drove2u that is so exciting! hoping that line gets darker and darker. Remind me, did you find out the gender before transfer or you're keeping it a surprise?

@Griffin5413 oh my gosh, how great! It'll be so exciting come August, so hoping everything goes according to plan.

I'm still working on myself. I decided I'm going to go for another consultation with a different doctor/clinic. While I'm still working on loosing weight, I just want to get the retrieval done so I don't feel like I'm in this limbo state wasting time. So hopefully I'll get some reassuring feedback from a new doctor.

Aiden just turned 18 months last week and he's hilarious! I can't imagine life before him at this point. He's doing so many new things constantly, learning so much, it's amazing to watch. I would love to give him a sibling soon! I'm still beating myself up a bit over the failed January transfer. I can't help but think that I'd be 7 months pregnant now if it all worked out. And then I keep wondering why didn't it work out?! It's such an emotional struggle. But anyway, I remain hopeful that I can be pregnant with you ladies soon again too! It was so much fun going through it all together the first time around!

  • @Tulips29 - I'm so sorry that you are having those feelings of loss! Like we haven't all experienced enough loss and frustration throughout this infertility process! I think it's a great idea to get a 2nd opinion. will definitely be thinking about you as you are looking for a new RE.

I just scheduled my HSG test so hopefully this next step will go smoothly. It's hard not to have all of those insecurities pop back up again.

  • @lynnnj congratulations!! That’s so exciting!! DO you know what you’re having yet?

@tulips29 no we didn’t do Pgs so not sure yet but I would like to find out.

@griffin5413 how are you doing? Have you started the process?

im now 7 weeks pregnant and everything looks good. I’m actuallt kind of shocked that it worked on the first try but I’m still so nervous that something will go wrong. Although I did already schedule my first appointment with my OB per my REs orders. So I guess we will see how it goes. We haven’t told family or anyone else yet.
  • @Drove2u congratulations!!!! how exciting! I'm so thrilled so many mamas from our original transfer group are now pregnant with #2.

  • Thanks @tulips29 how are you doing? What’s your timeline?
@joslynj11 I can’t beleive you got pregnant with twins naturally!! I’m sure it’s a shock. I would be shocked too! But that’s so awesome! Congratulations!!
  • @Joslynj11 how wonderful and exciting! how old will your first one be when you have the babies?

@Drove2u ugh i'm at a standstill for now and it's frustrating. I'm trying to go see this new RE for a second opinion to see if I can at least move forward with a retrieval for now. But he doesn't have appts available for weeks and I feel like I'm just sitting around and waiting while time is passing by :disappointed:

  • @Drove2u - we had to delay in July bc my bloodwork showed a spike in my thyroid but we now think it was bad bc it’s completely normal. I am supposed to start my period next week so we will start the process hopefully this month

  • @tulips29 well thats pretty annoying that you have to wait weeks for an appt but I'm sure itll be worth the wait getting a second opinion. What did the first doc say or not say to make you want to get a second opinion? Is the appt coming up soon? I'm excited for you!!!

@griffin5413 You must have started the process now. How is it going? Do you have a schedule yet?

    How is everyone else doing?

9 weeks here and still can't believe that this is happening. Have an ultrasound this Wednesday and then graduating from Re and stopping all meds. Thank goodness, I cannot wait for that!! The PIO sucks!

  • @Drove2u - I just had my 1st ultrasound today to make sure I didn't have any fibroids etc. Everything looked good so I'll start the pill today. I have 2 more lining checks with bloodwork as well as the saline histrogram again. As of now FET is scheduled for Oct 5 at 11am. I'm really excited and nervous at the same time.

@Tulips29 - how have you been feeling? Any news on whether or not you are going to get an appt soon? I've been thinking about you!
