Totally random, but we have a stupid but annoying mystery in our house.
This morning, DH went to the fridge and two of his single serving hummus containers were missing and another was open and half-eaten.
He didn't eat them and neither did I (I hate that brand, for one thing, though I can understand why he'd think it was me). We asked my parents (who both hate hummus) and they both said they have no idea who did it, either.
The kids are too small to have gotten in there and eaten it themselves (assuming they even like hummus or would think to eat it, since they've never had it, plus they couldn't open the packages).
At this point, our only explanation is a hummus-loving ghost or the infamous hummus bandit breaking in and eating it. WTF?
Anyone else feel like they are running out of room in their stomach? After two pieces of peanut butter toast and a cup of coffee this morning I’m so full I can hardly breathe. Time to take this small meal thing seriously!
Yes. I’m so hungry but then get full easily. And I’m always out of breath.
I have to say the most fun luxury this pregnancy is door dash. I don't typically do fast food or indulge in extra meals, but tonight I got myself a Whopper and onion rings, and it was fantastic.
Back into the healthy boat tomorrow, but wow, the Marvel's of modern technology are an enabling force.
@MojieJo that is...creepy. Have you had guests over or repair men or anything? How long could it have been that they had been eaten? Like does he check every day or more like once a week?
PS DD loves hummus and she’s a pretty picky eater so it might be worth a shot with your kids!
@lifesabeach624 My MIL was over, now that I think about it, but unless she fed them all to the kids, I don't think it was her some she also hates hummus.
I hope it wasn't her (though it would be nice to have a non-creepy explanation) because I've asked her repeatedly not to feed the kids random things out of the fridge.
I'm not sure how long it's been since he checked, but he's been taking it to work as snacks, so I don't think it's been too long.
I've been meaning to try it on the kiddos. I think they'd like it, but I just haven't yet. All we ever seen to have in the house is roasted red pepper and I'm thinking they might like plain better (I know one's not a fan of peppers, not sure about the other).
I haven't been commenting much, but I've been reading whenever I have a chance. I've had a whirlwind 2 weeks leading up to the school year starting (Monday!). Our student population is expanding so much we had to hire new teachers, 2 just for my grade level and subject. I'm already sitting at 80 students split between 3 classes with more expected to the first week of school. I was also informed that I will have to do MANDATORY tutoring twice a week starting week 2... which will be on top of my weekly (sometimes 2 a week) appointments and morning/after school duty twice a week. I'm expecting to be exhausted for the next forever =\
thinking back to yesterday’s question about telling the difference between pee/discharge and amniotic fluid... i thought about it and wondered: is losing your mucous plug the first indicator to be wary of leaking amniotic fluid? does that always precede your water breaking? is it obvious to tell in early 3rd trimester that you’ve lost your plug?
@highsteaks I didn't lose my mucus plug before my water broke. Unless I lost it little by little and never noticed? I don't recall having any weird discharge. I think that would be noticeable, but I'm not sure.
@highsteaks your mucus plug can regenerate itself throughout. I’ve lost bits and pieces of mine since like 20 weeks. It’s hard to tell the difference Btwn plug and just discharge. Losing the whole plug, you’ll definitely know if that happens.
I think leaking a little fluid throughout is normal as well. I think when you need to be concerned is if you are leaking through a panty liner or pad, or if it’s bloody or possibly has meconium in it.
@middleschoolmommy Wow!! That sounds like an enormous workload. Remind me, is it math you teach or all subjects? Is your subject what you would be tutoring in?
@highsteaks everyone will have a different experience with losing their MP, but here’s mine. With DD, I lost a huge chunk of it about 3 or 4 days before my water broke. With DS, I lost some immediately following getting my membranes sweeped at my 39 week appointment. My water broke that night and I lost the rest of it and had some of my bloody show then.
We just got back from our "babymoon" roadtrip to Wales. It was tons of driving but we had so much fun! Our girls did so well too with longer days, tons of walking, and eating different foods. My oldest turned eight during our trip, and decided she wanted to pierce her ears finally...It was definitely a highlight. We also stopped to see Windsor Castle, and then spent our final day at LEGOLAND.
I'm so sad to be home... lol. It's also a little nerve racking to think that was our last big trip before the baby is here
@highsteaks I remember my doula saying that if it comes out don’t get too excited - it doesn’t mean you are about to go into labor. Like @emjohn517 says, it can grow back. When mine did come out, it was suuuuper obvious. And that happened 36h before I started labor, and my water didn’t break until DD was crowning.
@MouseMama817 I teach math and thankfully will also be tutoring math. I can't imagine doing more than one subject while pregnant again (I taught all subjects 3rd grade while pregnant with my son and I'm convinced it played a part in his early delivery!)
My husband injured his back Friday morning... Which means this has not been the relaxing weekend I was hoping for. I've waited on him hand and foot so he rests and recovers quickly. If he can't help out this coming week, I might just die of exhaustion.
@josie12367 You're baaaaaack! I've missed you! How was your trip? Any pics you want to share with us? I'm so glad the girls did well for you and were okay with eating some new foods. What was your favorite part of the trip?
DH got the bunk bed for the girls set up on Thursday, so I spent all weekend getting both of them moved into one bedroom (reorganizing the dresser, closets, and moving clothes and accessories - OMG, the accessories). I.am.EXHUASTED! And the soon to be nursery is a hot mess since we need to sell DD2’s bed and I need to figure out toy storage/organization, and I just completely ran out of energy to do it (but then we can get the crib and changing table from the IL’s and set it up, and I will probably wash and put away NB clothes and diapers, eeek!). I only have the energy to get stuff done on the weekend, so I don’t feel like I have much time left!
@runningyogimama We got DD moved into her new bedroom this weekend too and I'm utterly exhausted! It was awesome getting the chance to pare down all the toys and books in her room though, so I'm hoping we can keep her new space somewhat clutter free (pipe dream, I know). I am so so tired though and I'm glad we're finally done. Though, like you, we still need to get the nursery space all prepared, clothes washed, put away, etc...but that can wait a few weeks, I think! How do the girls like their bunk bed?
@offtoneverland They like it in theory. DD2 has been awesome and slept in there every night, but DD1 has been going through a phase the last few months and wants to sleep in our room. She said she just doesn’t want to sleep alone, so would be fine once she can sleep with her sister, but...no dice. Not even with the bribe of a sticker chart with LOL dolls as rewards. Hopefully we can get her to sleep in there sometime in the next couple of months...I don’t want her to be woken up every time the baby gets up since he will be in our room.
@runningyogimama Aww, hopefully your DD1 will be able to sleep in there eventually. It seems new places take a while to get used to. DD loves her new room, but she was up really late last night exploring her new space. We also took the gate off her door, so she'll have to get used to staying in her room even when it's so easy to get out. She fell asleep at the foot of her bed last night and it was so sweet.
@offtoneverland The trip was just amazing. Wales is so so beautiful. I think my favourite part was walking along the beach and hunting for sea shells, cool rocks, and fossils with the family. It was right next to the longest pier in the UK. Afterwards we walked the pier and played arcade games till dinner. It was my favourite...
A close second was LEGOLAND. We originally did not plan on going, as we didn't know it was there in our route, but we saw the signs and decided to ditch the original plans for it. The girls, and my husband, had the best time and were geeking out.
I have tons of photos but I haven't downloaded them from my camera yet...I can't wait to share a few with you guys
I'm staying home with DD today because she has a small cold. In all honesty, it probably would have been fine to take her to school, but she woke up SO cuddly and I couldn't pass up the chance to stay home and snuggle with her. She's not usually that cuddly anymore, but she's been lying on me all morning giving me hugs and kisses, and it's the best. I just want to take advantage of this time with her while I still can!
