Re: FFFC 8/17

  • Currently I have 4 Spanish guys working on my exterior of the house the last three days. They are playing loud Spanish music, dancing and singing. The neighbors are all gawking from their windows. I live in a pretty well off neighborhood with a lot of retired couples or stay at home moms....(PS the only reason we can live here is it's DH's childhood home and we got it for a steal from MIL)

I don't want to tell them to keep it down in fear of them stopping working. I already told their boss they were slacking for three hours the first day, smoking and standing beside their car.

I'm sure we are now the talk of the street even more so. They have all told MIL that they think our renovation is taking too long and it's an eye sore with all the garbage and port-a-potty etc. MIL always just brushes it off and says it's not her house anymore LOL

    Due: October 12, 2018
    Location: Ontario, Canada

  • @chyvie your neighbors would love my neighborhood. I live in a community with a high Middle-Eastern population (as well as some Mexican). There is Middle Eastern and Mexican music playing all the time.
  • @Sailing_Mama yes! Good for you. You got places to be and no time to waste getting there.
  • @knottieamusements that is SUPER smart. I somehow need to remember to do that when I come back.

Similarly, I blocked my calendar this week and the week after vacation so no one could schedule any additional meetings. Sorry, not sorry, but this girl needs some quiet time at her desk.
  • @chopchop25 - Do you use Outlook reminders?   Set one for a few weeks after your due date so it pops up when you log back in after your leave.  You don’t even need to make it for your day back, just sometime while you are out...
  • @jennybean80 i suppose having him sneak some cheesecake in to you is a bad suggestion? ;)
  • @knottieamusements I’m glad one of us has our brain on this AM!

@jennybean80 that is totally a reason to be bitchy. No one should deprive you of your cheesecake. How are you feeling?
  • What @Sailing_Mama said!

Another FFFC - I had no clue where the word 'handicapped' came from until yesterday. Now I feel like an asshole for ever using it. Will be calling them disabled parking spaces from now on.
  • @jynjer91 that's great lol
  • @knottieamusements we can get filet if we upgrade to the suite for an extra $300 a night ...
  • @jemmerjams - That seems like a lot of money for marginal gains....  Do they throw in a bottle of champagne for after delivery?
  • @knottieamusements Canada. Health care is free, but the food is pretty basic. Although now at least they offer two choices for each meal/dessert (ie grilled cheese and tomato soup, or fruit salad were today’s lunch options). Last time there was no choice (2014). It was like being a kid “you get what you get and you don’t get upset”! There were a lot of Skip the Dishes meals...

  • @chopchop25 I think the most inclusive term is "accessible". As in "accessible parking spaces" or "accessible bathroom / stall"
    Ladybug - April 2013
    Dandelion - October 2018
    Angel "Aurora" - July 2020
    Angel "Sawyer" - May 2021
    Angel "Maxine" - January 2022
    Angel "Violet" - March 2022
    Baby Dove due March 2023
  • @Lisa3379 haha! I 100% pooped in labour with DS...but thankfully for me DH didn't even notice. My midwife was amazing at her speeding wiping away like nothing had happened!

  • @knottieamusements @jynjer91 but the room is bigger, and you get TWO "couches".(Benches). Plus your parking is validated and your support person gets meals included too. All that for the low low minimum price of $600, because it's a 2 night min stay.

My OB told me not to get it, waste of money lol.
  • I made marshmallows last night that had to set overnight before I could cut them, so this morning I had to cut them all up before I left for work... I didn’t feel like eating breakfast at home today, so the first thing I ate today may have been a marshmallow... and then I decided to go get a donut at lunch. Oops? @chopchop25 I got a chocolate buttermilk old fashioned for the win!
  • @nasalot188 my nurse was quick, too, but DH was right there holding my knee and saw everything, haha. Or at least he knew that I pooped, maybe he didn't really see it happen. Anyway, with that and how my water broke all over the floor right in front of him, I was like yeah, our relationship is going to be a little different now, haha!
  • @jwebbbber45678 that sounds like an epically awful day! Hope tomorrow is easier on you.

  • @jynjer91 re: the scammer - check out the comedian James Veitch. He has a whole TED talk about replying to them :)
  • @pumpkinpancake I had a chocolate buttermilk for lunch, too! Was at the NW location earlier today
  • @chopchop25 great minds think alike! I always go to the south waterfront one, since I can walk there during my lunch break.
  • @knottieamusements well our valet is complimentary...you just gotta pay for parking fees lol. Your hospital sounds amazing!
  • @jemmerjams - I’m mostly complaint free - and definitely glad about the meal service.  :)
