How are your other kids doing this week?
Yesterday he woke up at 8, today he woke up at 6, and he’s started biting me (I think his incisors are coming in). But he’s started consistently saying “Mom” and running up and hugging me, so that makes it all better!

I had my first appointment yesterday. I had an elective C-section with DS at 39 weeks because he was measuring big, and he came out at 9lbs (and he probably would’ve been over 10 if we let him come on his own). My doctor is an advocate of natural birth, but she said that women who make big babies continue to make big babies, so she’s suggesting a repeat c-section. Also if I want to try for a BAC she’d have to transfer me to a high risk doctor at another hospital, but I love my doctor and my hospital. So it looks like it’ll be another C-section, which I’m not upset about, I just kinda want to go through the labor experience. I have a kid, but I have no idea what contractions feel like or what it feels like when the baby drops, so whenever it comes to scheduling this one I’m going to try and get the latest date possible in the hopes I can go into labor naturally.

How far along are you? How big is baby? 5w3d according to Fertility Friend, 5w2d according to TB. I guess I'll probably go with TB? Anywho...babe is the size of a lentil.

How are your other kids doing this week? He's ok. We had a super busy weekend - county fair on Friday, sleepover at my parents on Saturday, then an overnight with all his cousins out at the beach on Sunday. I think we're BOTH still recovering.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? DS starts pre-k next week. Up until now he's been with MIL during the day, but he's starting at a DC next week where he will have pre-k 9-12. I know it's no big deal, but I worry about him adjusting. His cousin will be there so I'm hoping that's a positive rather than a negative (they tend to pick at each other at times). Ugh. I hope he makes friends
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Teleportation. Sometimes it's a toss up between that and invisibility, but teleportation sounds so much better right now. Like, if I could teleport home to take a nap during my lunch today...

He's currently at my parent's house for a sleepover and DH is away for training - my boss made a comment about me having the house to myself being a dream of his, and I'm just here like... I hate being in an empty house. I miss him, but sleeping in this morning was rather nice. I'm so impatient to tell him he's going to be a big brother!
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Impatiently waiting for my first appointment, which isn't until 8/27. I'm meeting with a doula next Friday - anybody have any questions I should ask? I'm not 100% sure I want a doula just because I'm a very private person and the idea of someone else there seeing my whole vajayjay and everything makes me feel weird, but at the same time I want to have a natural birth and I'm not sure DH would advocate enough for me.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Also teleportation or shape-shifting. Or Rogue's power of taking any other power so I could try them all!
@MRDCle @kangstadt We've already told DS. I couldn't wait He's excited and keeps talking about what he'll share with the baby and what we should buy new for the baby so he doesn't have to share. The other night before bed he yelled at my stomach to "stop making Mommy sick!" lol
I'm waiting for my next appt until I take our announcement pictures. I want to do some with just a onesie, calendar, and my needles. I also want to do one of DS of some sort - I've got pictures saved on Pinterest for ideas, but haven't settled on one yet! I've joked this entire time of TTC that since it took so long and we've put so much into it, I'm doing EVERYTHING you see on Pinterest related to pregnancy. Fun announcement, gender reveal, maternity pics, etc... I don't care, I'm celebrating and doing it up!

How are your other kids doing this week? Nothing new with my tiny human. We were going to switch her to a twin bed right after Christmas but with LO on the way, I think we are going to do it soon so she doesn't view the crib (it's been converted to a toddler bed) as being taken away from her.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? The exhaustion and nausea are real folks. I didn't get m/s with DD so this is new territory for me. PGAL brain is also a bitch to deal with.

We’re trying to wait as long as possible to tell anyone, mostly because my mother is massively nosy and invasive, so we want to wait to tell her, but if we tell anyone else before her she’ll lose her (already fairly unstable) mind. We’re going to Disney with my parents at the end of October so if we make it that long we’re going to tell them then because they’re going to question why I’m not going on thrill rides. I want to make a sign that says “Our Ohana is growing” and pose with Lilo and Stitch :-)

Pretty good. My younger DD is in a super cute phase, but she is also knowingly being bad. I just declared last night that I am throwing away every marker we have in the house since a new favorite past time for the two of them is sneaking off into the playroom and drawing all over each other. Sigh.

How are your other kids doing this week? We’ve all been home sick with ear infections and pneumonia. They finally seem to be on the mend. My oldest started 1st grade today and was super excited this morning.
Rants/Raves? Being super sick and newly pregnant is just a evil joke. Thnkfully my PCP gave me the week off to recover.
Concerns/Questions? This is my first pregnancy I have worked. My other pregnancies I was very sick and there’s no way I could have. I’m worried about how long I’m going to make it into this one before I have to quit.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? This is a tough one...probably to speed clean the house. Never enough hours in the day.
How far along are you? How big is baby? Hovering somewhere around 5 weeks - in desperate need of a dating ultrasound, which won't be until at least 9/4 when I have my first OB appointment!
How many kids do you already have? Ages? I have one son who will be 8 months old in a few days.
How are your other kids doing this week? He is such a happy, active, cheerful little guy! HOWEVER, he sleeps like trash, and this week has been even worse because he was backed up for like 3 days (finally just went now!) and spent the better part of the night moaning in our bed after we couldn't get him to stay in his crib. Going to have to sleep train him but I am a sucker who hates to hear him cry and I am just so damn tired now that baby #2 is brewing.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? My rant is that my breast milk supply has dropped SO low now that I'm pregnant. Since we are having two so close together my pregnant hormones are making me a little sad that my son will have to share my time and attention so young, and I really don't want him to have to give up anything yet. For now we are hanging in there, but I can't seem to pump enough and I do need to leave the house sometimes... My rave is that YAY, we're pregnant! Just realizing that in the midst of being slightly surprised and overwhelmed, I haven't even taken the time to sit back and be excited for a minute. DS is going to be such an amazing big brother

How are your other kids doing this week? She’s walking! I mean, she has been taking steps since 4th of July, but she’s primarily walking now. Also she just cut another tooth - but luckily that doesn’t affect her mood much.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? My uterus is feeling all stretchy and uncomfortable and it worries me. In large part because when I decide to have tea and watch tv because I’m feeling yuck, MIL notices and worries, and we’re keeping this secret a bit longer. (We live with MIL/FIL because FIL had a stroke and needs constant care that MIL can’t provide on her own.)
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Teleportation pleaseeeee - if only so I don’t have to pack everything into my car for an afternoon fixing up the rental units...also so I could hang out with my parents more!
I think we’re keeping this one a secret between DH and I (and DD, who can’t spill the beans) for the first tri or so. I’m not sure when we’ll tell our parents but I want some of the other things in our life to be better sorted first.
I announced my last pregnancy on social media when I landed in the hospital for my birthday at 25 weeks, and DD was born 6 days later. So, that was a doozy. There were lots of factors that went into that delayed announcement but I’d rather celebrate the baby this time and do all the things I never got to last time: cute fb announcement, a baby shower, maternity photos, baby photos.

Parenting with 1st tri MS and tiredness is no freaking joke. Oof. I'm struggling.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation probably. It was be awesome to :poof: be home. Or :poof: be somewhere tropical. I'd go on so many mini vacations for so cheap. But it would have to be the type where I could hold people's hands and they teleport with me. So my family we :poof: go spend the first part of the day on the beach on the French Riviera - pop home for naptime - off to some national park to walk around - pop over to Japan for an authentic sushi dinner and then :poof: back home for bedtime books. That would be freaking awesome.

@MRDCle We won't be making any sort of announcement, and we didn't for N either. I actually didn't allow anything about my pregnancy on social media, so when I posted a picture of N the day she was born, a few people said I really Kylie Jenner-ed the whole thing lol (so I told them I too would be launching my make-up line soon!). I totally get those of you who said you want to enjoy your pregnancies and do all of the things - it makes complete sense! I just can't seem to get past my own PGAL brain to do it.

Just had blood taken this morning to test my progesterone levels after a loss back in February, so i'm really hoping that comes back at the right levels. I'm already having symptoms (didn't have any until around 8 weeks with DS) so i'm hoping thats a good sign. But I'll be a little apprehensive for the next few months.

I was gonna say teleportation but that seems to be everyone's answer! I might go with flying because that would be pretty fun, but only if I could carry other people with me while I was in the air.

How are your other kids doing this week? Trying to get her back to sleeping in her own bed. She's been in the habit of sleeping with me when I open in the morning since I have to wake up at 3am and it was easier than trying to put her down and then try to fall asleep myself. It's a struggle but we're getting there. Two nights in a row after tonight with little fight from her
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? It's different being pregnant again, this time with a toddler. Makes me forget sometimes that I am pregnant because my DD keeps me so busy when I get home from work. I have to power through symptoms when I have them because she needs me to be mom. Love her to death but I miss the ability to have naps after work.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Crazy as it sounds I would want to be invisible when I choose. Not to spy on people or anything like that, more so for me to disappear and have some alone time when I want to. Maybe get that nap lol

This is a hard one. Teleportation is extremely attractive. Perhaps instead I would like to be I dream of Genie-like and blink and have whatever I wanted/need? Clean house? Got it! Yummy food cooked? Done!

How are your other kids doing this week? 6yo doesn't want to go to 1st grade because I get to go home while he stays at school (I work from home). Apparently me working is his version of him getting to play all day. 3yo loves school and being with his friends, 3 is definitely much worse than 2 with this one though!

GTKY: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Its not even a superpower, but I wish I could snap my fingers and my house would be clean. That would be the best thing that ever happened!
It rained at DD’s first bday party in May and everyone with kids cancelled because someone in the family was sick. I mean, I get it, but my super cute garden party (more Peter Rabbit than seersucker) with adorable favors of carrot-shaped bags of playdoh was a bust when only adults showed up. At least I could drink. I’m already bummed on your behalf that you have to move inside AND that the finger-snapping won’t clean the house.
