Product Spotlight: Pack and Plays

Re: Product Spotlight: Pack and Plays

  • This is similar to the one we got last time.

I loved it. I didn't really use the napper portion as much at the beginning because he hated it. So I'm glad we didn't buy a bouncer. But as he got bigger he really loved that he could bounce it himself and we'd use it to contain him (like while we showered.)
We used the bassinet portion for the first 4 months or so while he was in his room and random naps. Then the actual pack n play for a bit to contain him before he was mobile, but still getting into things.
All in all I thought it was an awesome purchase and very useful. The changer part was ridiculous and we stopped using it after a week. Much easier even on the bed.
I say just know what your purpose is for it and realistically think of you'd use the pieces before you spend the money.

Couldn’t find a great place to put this so feel free to suggest another post & ill re-share... but for anyone who is looking for a more reasonably priced option than the DockATot - I Found Snuggle Me... overall not much cheaper BUT every Thursday they sell “imperfects” - products that either had a tiny flaw in stitching or color or were returned and cleaned. I purchased the Snuggle Me Organic & Cover for $74 and both appear just fine to me (also got in about 3 days) ... you have to just watch the site and the inventory goes quick but was so much more worth it than spending $180. Here’s the link... https://snugglemeorganic.com/collections/imperfects

  • I haven’t been sure when i would use a dock a tot. How have others used this? Is this in place of needing something else that they sleep in or to use in a bassinet?
  • @rabtaido1214 its supposed to be meant more of a place to lay the baby when you'll be close to monitor. Some use it to bed share. It is not recommended for sleeping, especially when a parent isn't watching. However, many use it for that .
  • @rabtaido1214 - I’m planning to use it on my futon in the basement when watching movies.  Basically a nest to keep him comfortable when hanging out, not a regular sleeping place.
  • My friend leant me her Boppy newborn lounge pillow. Obviously it can't be placed in the crib, but for a spot to put baby while I'm watching Neflix, would this serve the same purpose as the Dock-a-tot?

I got three as gifts for when I was pregnant with my DS. I put the simple Graco one at my in laws house so he can sleep in when we stayed over.

We kept the ingenuity one at our house. We kept it downstairs to use the changing station. We used it a ton! He also napped in there when I was downstairs. I was recommended the ingenuity brand because it's the only brand you can completely zip every fabric off and throw it in the washer. There were so many times he had blow outs. The others, you have to wipe down. This was a recommendation from other mom friends . So glad we got the ingenuity brand.
How cool that you can put the fabric in the washing machine! I just deleted the pack n play from my registry added this one! Thanks!!

I registered for this one.  Not too expensive, I want it to add to my living room decor lol.  It'll go in the living room to change diapers easily.  I'd say for naps but no idea how I'm going to get a baby to nap with a 5 &4 year old running around. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QHK8TWS?colid=202QT17VIYNUM&coliid=I20N3BXLPXGR84&ref=br_ADD_TO_CART_title_link&th=1
