  • I'm sorry I fell off the earth for a week and missed Wednesday Ticker Change. I got incredibly sick - probably the flu or some other nasty virus. Was almost hospitalized, but thankfully didn't have to. I'm still not feeling 100%. So exhausted.

Oh no! That’s so scary. I’m glad you’re on the mend but hope you’re fully better soon.
  • I’m exhausted the last few days and the achiness has increased. I will be starving one minute and nauseous the next. Third trimester has arrived lol.
  • @KellyT22 glad to hear you’re feeling better! Sick and pregnant is the worst.
  • I'm sorry I haven't been around, guys.  I'm really struggling with not feeling like myself (kind of depressed and anxious and just generally not feeling up to doing too much other than taking care of my kids and getting through each day).

I'm trying to keep up with everything that's going on, I just haven't really been posting.  Everything is fine otherwise.  Baby is good, I'm just having issues right now.

@bfpafter4years Thinking about you!  I didn't see your post until today somehow.  I hope everything is alright with you and baby!

  • @MojieJo Sorry you are in a funk. Maybe a little self care is in order. Prenatal massage? Mani Pedi? Lunch with a friend? Hope you start to feel better soon.

@KellyT22 Yikes sounds awful. Glad you are on the upswing.
  • @MojieJo take care of yourself! Hope you can start feeling better again soon.
  • Hi all!  I had my appendix out a long time ago - near the scar it feels bumpy and hurts lately.  I'm worried the muscle is injured here or maybe a small hernia?  Anyone else have similar experience?  I have a doc appointment Thursday but I'm anxious I've overdone it and just about the pain in general!  I'm 26 weeks.
  • @MojieJo sending mama hugs your way.
  • @BabyBoyH92016 @firsttimespartanmom @emjohn517 Thanks, ladies.  Usually these funks pass, so hopefully I'll come out of this soon.

  • @MojieJo - thinking of you and hoping things get easier soon!
  • I honestly don't know how alot of moms to it. I work full time and DH stays home with the kids (4.5 and 2.5). We try to go to the gym a few nights a week, plus all the other day to day errands and tasks we need to do... I feel like we never have any time. He just recently got his G2 which makes things a bit easier, but I can't imagine how crazy it would be if he also worked full time and we had to deal with the day care shuffle.

I feel like I'm always so insanely busy, that I never have enough time to fit everything in that needs to be done, plus do extra fun stuff with the kids, plus any of my hobbies, etc.
Ive been feeling a bit down lately because of just being so exhausted from everything. I haven't been feeling as social lately, so I often come on here and look around but dont have the energy to talk.

Im sorry, I'm sure that was alot of word vomit. I just needed to get it out.

  • It's crazy to think that we could have our first babies born in the next few weeks! Hoping everyone makes it to full term though!

  • I slipped and fell this morning. :( I’m fine, just sore (and annoyed). I had gotten the big umbrella out of the back of our van for DH and DD1 to go to school, and after I started driving, the “hatch open” light came on, so I pulled into a gas station right before the interstate to close it since I didn’t want to get on the interstate with it open, and when I got out of the car, the parking lot must have been slick from the rain, because my feet just flew out from under me and I landed on my tailbone. I drove to work, then realized I should probably call my OB’s office just in case, and the after hours nurse said I needed to be seen, and to call back right when they open. So, since I work an hour away, I turned around and drove home. And then my OB calls when she gets in, and says as long as baby is moving and no spotting or cramping, I don’t need to come in. But...at this point, I already would have to take a half day by the time I get to work, and I was literally crying over how stressed I would be with how crazy work has been lately by missing my most productive time of the day. So, I made the hard decision to use an entire day of PTO (which I’ve been saving up for maternity leave) to stay home and rest/have a mental health day. I took a long bath since my back, tailbon, and hips are sore from falling, and I think I’m going to have lunch, then take a nap....

On the plus side, I was planning to take off early today since my OB’s office called yesterday afternoon and said my new note for parking was signed and ready to pick up, so at least I got that this morning....

  • @runningyogimama ugh that sounds so stressful! hope your booty heals quickly. i’m SO annoyed that talking to a nurse always seems to result in “you need to drop everything and be seen asap!” when often the case after talking to a doctor is “eh, you’re probably fine, call if you think something’s off.” why is there such a big discrepancy in opinion! sorry to rant, pet peeve of mine.
  • @runningyogimama ugh what an awful day! Hope the day of relaxation is really helpful.

  • @runningyogimama Oh no! I'm glad you're okay and you were able to take the day off. That stinks you had to use the PTO hours you were saving, but hopefully it's worth it to have a relaxing day. Hope you got to nap too!

  • @runningyogimama Ouch! I’m sorry you fell and had such a stressful morning. Hope your PTO day helps a little. Take care of yourself!
  • @runningyogimama I hooe your day off helps you decompress a bit. I'm sorry it's been a craptastic day. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs
  • @runningyogimama I'm so sorry you fell! Glad everything ended up being ok and hopefully the day off was good for your well-being. And yay for having the new note!

  • @runningyogimama goodness, that sounds like a rough one. Glad to hear you're on PTO and taking it a bit easy!
  • @offtoneverland hey a lot of women don't even try so props to you! Everyone makes mistakes from time to time.
  • Anyone else feel like they are running out of room in their stomach? After two pieces of peanut butter toast and a cup of coffee this morning I’m so full I can hardly breathe. Time to take this small meal thing seriously!
  • @firsttimespartanmom I did for awhile when baby was transverse. I felt so huge and bloated, any carbs would make me feel so bulged and stretched. But babe has moved head down and now it feels like I have tons of room. I’m not feeling so stretched anymore. Weird.
  • @firsttimespartanmom Yup! I can barely eat anywhere near the amount of food that I normally can. All about small portions. On the plus side, tons of leftovers!

  • on another note, how are you supposed to tell what’s discharge vs pee vs something concerning like amniotic fluid? I have had a ton of what I’m pretty sure is discharge lately, it seems normal but sometimes seems like a lot, like I need to wear a pantiliner or it’ll soak through my underwear. Then I’m like well maybe it’s pee. When do I get concerned?
  • @firsttimespartanmom Yes definitely normal for your stomach to get compressed! I once threw up from eating a large salad during the third trimester my last pregnancy - and heartburn gets worse too! And yeah I change my underdrawers like four times a day now between discharge, pee leaks and sweat! I can't say i've ever been too concerned that it's amniotic fluid, I guess I would have just thought that would be noticeably more liquid, or that it would just keep a coming. Good question though and I hope someone who has experience with amniotic fluid can answer.

  • @firsttimespartanmom - I wear a pantyliner and this is gross, but I can tell it is pee by the smell (it's also yellow). I think amniotic fluid is usually a sweet smelling to very little smell (or definitely not ammonia smell like urine).

@runningyogimama - Ouch, I'm sorry you fell. I hope taking the day off to relax helps mentally and physically!

  • @mockingjay1 makes sense. Chalk it up to another gross thing pregnant women get to enjoy!
  • @firsttimespartanmom When my water broke with DD, the amniotic fluid looked kind of cloudy. It was thin and very watery, like urine, but cloudy, and definitely didn't smell like pee. I know it's possible to have a slow leak of fluid, but I think that's something your doctor would be able to detect at your appointments by measuring your fundal height. (I think? I don't know for sure but I assume they'd be able to feel if you aren't as full as you should be.)
When my water broke, I thought at first it was just pee, but when I sat on the toilet and it kept pouring out, but didn't feel like I had to pee, I knew it was my water.
I don't know if that really helps with your question since mine was not a slow leak...

  • @offtoneverland that does make sense. I had an appointment last week and have one next so I’ll mention it, but I’m fairly certain it’s just your everyday pee/discharge combo. How lovely.
