@knottieamusements my pedi hates them. The reason she hates them is she thinks they actually stress parents out more. Since they are far less sensitive then medical grade technology, they can register a 'low' oxygen level or an 'abnormal' heart rate when its really just the probe isnt tight enough or in the right spot or sensitive enough for the individual. She has seen parents rush to the ER for these things when baby has been fine too many times, so she advises against them for parents sanity sake.
We got the Infant Optics monitor and we also purchased the Owlet today with our registry completion discount. I read up on them pretty heavily and understand that there are false alarms, but I would rather get a false alarm than none at all.
