I’m feeling good when exercising for the most part, though I groan when my alarm goes off at 5 am.
I’ve still been doing Pure Barre 3-4x a week. On other days I try to walk or do some form of cardio. I kept getting awful side stitches while running, so I gave up on that.
Any recommendations for good workout videos on YouTube? A lot of the ones I’ve found are really basic/easy. I don’t consider myself some kind of fitness expert, but I watched one video where a woman did 5 squats, and was like, “Okay! Water break, whoo! I’ve earned a nap today.”

What’s excercise? Haha but actually, I’ve been going to prenatal yoga once a week but otherwise I’ve been really bad lately. I was walking a lot early on, but now between oppressive heat or torrential downpours it’s been a lot harder. I need fall ASAP!
@mrsmang hahaha +1 to everything you said. I've been rolling out the yoga mat at home 1-2 times per week but other than that I've been a beached-couch-whale. Dying for at least low 80s and a nice breeze so I can walk around without overheating.
I've been meeting with a trainer that specializes in prenatal fitness once a week. Other than that, I try to go on walks a few times a week. We walked a bunch on our trip to Charleston last weekend, including a 30 minute walk along the beach The sand definitely provided a good leg workout!
The humidity has been killing me. I have asthma and am supposed to avoid using my inhaler as much as possible, so I've been walking... Just walking. Blah. I've been kayaking a few times because it's not super strenuous, but that's about it.
I'm finally getting back in my exercise groove lately. Prenatal yoga 1x/week, strength training with a prenatal fitness trainer 1x/week and I try to walk for 30ish minutes 3-4x/week. Being out of the gym for 3 months for the first tri has been really rough to come back from...
@saltedcaramel518Not sure about youtube, but if you have Amazon Prime they have some good yoga videos on there I've done.
How are you feeling about exercise? Glad I'm still able to exercise most days, and feel like I'm finally (almost half-way through this pregnancy) getting a feel for monitoring my heart rate better, so that feels good too.
What are you doing? Bootcamp 1-2 times a week, and walking most other days. I am planning to add in prenatal yoga once/week at the end of this month, but haven't done that yet. I have given myself 3 rules for working out
Any thoughts or questions? I have given myself 3 rules for working out that really feel like they're helping me keep up a workout program while pregnant, safely: (1) no working out if the "feels-like" temp outside is 90+ (my gym has no AC and I do not want to get overheated); (2) no exercising on my back (trainers are able to give me modifications in the plank position or standing up); and (3) be easy on myself and take additional breaks as needed (allows me to keep an eye on my heart rate and water intake). Do any of you have "rules" or guidelines you're following?
I went for a run last week, it has been awhile BUT it was so nice to get back out! Hoping to run occasionally when I feel good and the weather cooperates. Getting lots of walks in with DD.
Still feeling good about exercising over here. Just wish I could get to orange theory more often but with DH out of town during the week and DD at home, I can only hit the gym on weekends. It feels good though and I’m figuring out how to balance getting a strenuous workout in without overdoing it. The heart rate monitor helps and I’ve gotten used to ignoring the coach’s calls to the class to try to speed up. Honestly the hardest part for me is what to do on the weekdays when I need to do it at home or outside with DD. It’s just so boring to me. For now just trying to do walks to the park with her. @Kabazaba I don’t currently have any rules but I love that idea and like your examples. I’m definitely a rule follower so that would help me. At OTF my only one is keeping my heart rate below a certain amount. I’m thinking about something like a number of steps per day. I read two miles is a good goal throughout pregnancy and I’ve gone 1 today without trying so that may be doable.

I like the 2 miles/day idea when not doing bootcamp! Will try to start aiming for that. Right now my mileage varies HIGHLY (over 5 miles last Sunday, under 2 miles yesterday).
How are you feeling about exercise? I'm feeling good. I was not active with my first pregnancy, and I can totally feel the different this time around.
What are you doing? I am doing 45 minutes of cardio (brisk walk at an incline), 4-5 days a week. I have been reintroducing light weight training too. I did prenatal yoga with my first pregnancy, but there are no classes near me anymore.
Any thoughts or questions? Anyone else experience some gym anxiety now? I am really struggling to do anything but the treadmill. Maybe just fearing any side-eyeing (that probably wouldn't even happen).
@saltedcaramel518 I like the Popsugar Fitness channel on YouTube. I also do some Denise Austin workouts on YouTube when I feel like taking it easy!
I’m trying to do something active 4x/week, this week was YouTube video, hour long walk outside, 30 min elliptical and then swimming with DD today (that counts to me at least!)
I need to start doing prenatal yoga, the stretches really helped with my first pregnancy.
The only rule I follow is to listen to my body- go at my own pace, drinking lots of water and taking breaks when needed- and if I feel exhausted to just do some stretching or light cardio.
How are you feeling about exercise? Great! Before this week I hadn’t changed anything but I was doing mountain climbers the other day and suddenly felt ... wrong.. about it. I can’t quite discribe it, it didn’t hurt but I could tell I was going to fast. ive never really understood the whole “listen to your body” thing before that. I just took it a little slower and not quite as “forceful” and felt good about that.
What are you doing? My ToneItUp daily moves and daily workout video 5/6 times a week. So a mix of everything, cardio, HIIT, “weight training” with 5lbs dumbbells and just normal exercise moves for booty, legs, arms, etc depending on what the plan is focusing on that day.
Any thoughts or questions? Exercises has become more “annoying” and yet fun at the same time with all the dang movement. Baby’s kicks and rolls have gotten SO strong this past week out of no where and any time I exercise it wakes him/her up and it’s sometimes hard to concentrate with all the movement lol I feel like he/she’s in there trying to do the moves with me lmao

Lol! Search Tone It Up.. they moved to an app these days but still have a ton of videos up on their channel. THIS is exactly why I haven’t started doing any workouts titled “prenatal” or “pregnancy” because I feel like I do them and afterwards I’m like “well that was pointless and waste of time.. I’m not even sweating” lmao Im sure come 3rd trimester I’ll have a different tune towards them but for now they feel like more workouts geared towards 80 year old women rather than decently healthy pregnant women lol
How are you feeling about exercise? --surprisingly good! Im a FTM so i didnt know what to expect, but im still hitting the gym 5-6x a week. What are you doing? --Right now im following livefit by jamie eason on the body space app. I went through the 12 wk program right before pregnancy so it has all of my previous workouts logged, which i like because it is a weight lifting program and im just trying to maintain my fitness level, not improve it. Knowing what i did before helps me make sure I dont try and do more than what i did previously. I am making lots of modifications to things (no abs, nothing lying on back, using a smith machine where i can) and taking more breaks, drinking more water, etc.
@saltedcaramel518 have you tried Barre3? It's basically barre with cardio. I've never sweat so much in my life than in those classes and they are very pregnancy-friendly. I'm always one of 3+ pregnant women in the classes. If you have any studios near you, I'd highly recommend it!! I love Barre but Barre3 has become my new jam.
I ordered a birthing ball/exercise ball to sit on at my desk and having been doing that the last two days, does that count? lol My usual interval training class is cancelled this week and I am missing prenatal yoga to leave town for the weekend so I'm left with just my walks this week
