I love fall. It’s my favorite season. But the people going completely nuts because it’s now August are killing me. August is still summer. Hold your ponies and quit your countdowns.
@JLaVO888 YES!!! I'm a summer girl, personally, but feel like every season everyone's always pining for the next and the retail stores and TV programming are not helping. I've seen Reese's pumpkins for sale at the beginning of August and just yesterday I saw a commercial for Christmas specials starting OCTOBER 26!!!! Can we live in the season we are in, please? Good grief!
We skipped Spring all together in Kansas, and it’s been really hot, so I’m definitely ready for fall, but it’s also a really busy time on the farm and I just don’t have the energy for that right now!!!!

PCOS, plus some medical issues that make me high risk.
Someone mentioned not rushing through and the first thing mentioned was the early blood test to find out the gender. I will be doing that test. For multiple reasons. I'm going to be 40 in a few weeks and it tests for other things that are a greater risk the older you get. But I'm most excited about the gender piece of it because my boyfriend is in the navy. He is currently away and missed hearing the heartbeat. He missed me finding out I was pregnant (he had left like two weeks before). He will also be gone around the time of the 20 weeks scan when they can usually tell you the gender. So he will miss that too. I will be able to go see him soon and before I leave is when I'll go have that blood work done so I can be with him when they call with the results. I hate that he has missed so much and will miss so much more before it's all said and done. This is the best I can do to include him in this.
As for the reveal stuff.... We won't be doing a big party or anything. But we will probably put it on Facebook because our friends and family are spread all overr the country and its just easier this way. We won't be telling anyone the name though. Because regardless if it's a boy or girl, it will be named after someone and we have already narrowed that down and don't want anyone to get pissy and try to change our minds or have to defend our decision.
My unpopular opinion: I despise the essential oil craze. It just makes me sneeze and I certainly don’t think it will cure my cancer/ear infection/insomnia
@valentynsi I don't want to speak for anyone, as I wasn't the one who originally made the statement about blood testing for gender, but I took it as frustration at people who ONLY do it to find out if it's a boy or girl. You clearly have other reasons. Maybe this is a UO, but I am bothered, personally, when people act like that is the primary reason for the blood test or even the 20 week u/s. I have risks based on family history, so both of those are super nerve wracking for me to make sure all the genetic and health stuff is okay. Finding out the sex is just a bonus.

I have to agree with you. I get excited for any ultrasounds after 16 weeks because of the chance of finding out what baby is, but ultimately I'm more worried than excited that everything is growing how it should and baby is comfy on the inside.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
