@tessiesmom26 ahhh I gotcha, I thought they were making you use PTO just to go to the restroom. Still that is soooo sucky. I'm team take the full day Friday off And yeah, working in a lab I have zero ability to work remotely either.
@bfpafter4years Uhhhhh no. I also try not to be judgey but that I would hardcore judge. Yes, addictions are hard to quit, been there/done that, but who in their right mind would be smoking while pregnant, let alone outside a MFM office?! That isn't just putting herself and her child risk, but also every other woman walking by :S Plus especially since getting pregnant I can't STAND them smell of cigarette smoke. I can smell it on MH when he comes home if he was simply standing next to someone smoking. Personally I would have turned around and complained to the office staff to at least get her to move. Most doctors offices (at least where I live) are smoke free "campuses" meaning you are not allowed to be smoking ANYWHERE on the premises.

@mousemama817 I totally feel you. I'm also about a million times more irritable this week for whatever reason and the constant needing of my time by everyone else is hard to swallow. Doesn't my family know all I want to do is lay in bed and binge watch Jane the Virgin?!?!
@bfpafter4years that makes me so sad. I'm sorry you saw that.
@bfpafter4years I would so give a dirty look. Hey, do what you want to your body, but don’t rudely expose me and my child to it. I also side eye parents at the park who chain smoke the whole time. Like, come on. I know addiction is hard, I have 3 aunts on 24/7 O2 bc of years of chain smoking, but if you can’t go an hour of playing with your kids without one, it’s just kinda sad. We know better now a days. We are too informed to think that’s acceptable anymore.

@tessiesmom26 awesome news! Glad you won't be having to drive to take a potty break.
@bfpafter4years that is awful. Some things its hard not to judge on, especially when it effects an unborn baby. And super rude of her to expose other pregnant women to that.
@bfpafter4years Your BF is totally justified. I got ragey just reading it, TBH. If you want to expose your unborn child to that nonsense, then go ahead, but don't you dare put me and my child at risk!

@bfpafter4years Sorry not sorry, but I totally judge that. With most other things it’s easy to live and let live and say that every woman knows what’s best for her baby, but smoking while pregnant is not on that list.
Another BF: having one of those days that puts into stark reality the fact that I can either devote myself entirely to my toddler and have a relatively good day, or I can try to find balance in taking care of her while also taking care of the house and end up a crying mess. Preschool cannot start soon enough, seriously. 5 more days. I’m so thankful to be home with her but Lord Jesus it’s a lot of face time some days.
@MouseMama817 I feel ya. DD being in VBS 4 mornings this week is my only saving grace. Even with that and her nap, yesterday afternoon I was too tired to really engage with her and was completely exhausted by 6pm. If she wasn't gone all morning there would be zero housework, cleaning, laundry, errands, or cooking done, zero.
@bfpafter4years That is really sad. I believe that addictions are no joke, and I remember reading recently that apparently 15% of pregnant women in the US smoke cigarettes if you can believe it. I know its technically none of your business, but could you say something to the doctor? If they're not aware (presumably they are), maybe they could direct her into some programs to help encourage her to quit?
My BF: What the actual F is going on with my toddler?! It seems like we are going on day two of no nap. Does God hate me? All I want is a nap too and my kid refuses to sleep and I want to cry. This is the worst.
@lifesabeach85 unfortunately, my mfm office is at the hospital so she might have been going there or just into the maternity ward. It is hard to know. And I won't be there again for a month.
I am glad I am not alone with that. I just couldn't believe it because it is probably the first time I have actually seen a pregnant woman smoking. I just tried to walk by quickly so I wouldn't breathe it in. I think she did see me looking at her and shaking my head because she kind of gave me one of those attitude looks.
I know giving up things for pregnancy is hard. Trust me, I am struggling with the GD diet. But I know it is only for a short time and it means healthy baby and healthy me. It is just selfish if you ask me.
@MouseMama817 Your day sounds all too familiar. Hang in there, girl. I hope you get some peace and quiet soon! So frustrating when you're trying to accomplish one simple thing and it takes like three hours.
@bfpafter4years Say whaaaaa!? I'm all for pregnant women making their own personal decisions, but that's pretty next level.
So, we signed up for a child birth class for tonight. I figured I'd get it in before going back to work. I was excited for it, since I didn't get to go to one before ds was born (he showed up the weekend prior to the class!). Instructor never showed up. 8 pregnant women were waiting around outside in the heat for 30 mins. Called the 800 number and their only advice was to call back in the morning... So not impressed.
@middleschoolmommy UGH! That is unacceptable! I would have been livid. Here's hoping you can get in touch with someone today and they can make it right.
@middleschoolmommy - how annoying!!!! I hope they fix the situation (refund, discount, whatever). @bfpafter4years - smoking is my biggest pet peeve. I know addictions are hard, but when you smoke around other people you put them at risk too. Cigarette smoke is super irritating to me and almost always causes a sinus infection. Smoking right in front of any office is a no no. I always cough and wave my hand because I'm a jerk I guess.

I think I’ve posted before about this lady at my work who is very awkward - she sits at our front desk so I have to see her when I leave work each day and wait for the elevator. She will randomly yell questions to me, including asking me if I was pregnant before I had told anyone at work, if we have a name, what the sex is, etc. fine, whatever.
Today as I was leaving, I was chatting with my boss and a co-worker while waiting for the elevator. I hear “so do you think you might be having twins?” Turn around and sure enough it was her! I said...excuse me? Nope, there’s just one baby in there. She then proceeded to tell me it’s a boy. Good lord.
It has been a DAY. The power went out at 11am. Went over to my parents house at 5 since it still wasn’t on, so DD could eat dinner. Luckily it came back on at 7, but guess what my car wouldn’t start. Luckily one of my sisters was there and drove us home, but my car is still stuck there. I have a massive headache and I’m exhausted. I miss wine.
