I had my appt this morning. Ultrasound showed my SCH is doing good and they are happy with it. Baby is confirmed boy! I was actually having a contraction during the ultrasound so she switched to vaginal to watch it better. She said it was all fine but would show the Dr. If he disagreed with her findings then I will go to MFM to get my A/S in 3 weeks.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am calmed down about the bad experience this morning. I couldn’t get through on the phone to complain but will try again tomorrow. I get a little reactive when I have medical experiences that feel like they are happening to me (without me as an active agent), which is what this morning’s experience with the first sonographer felt like. Affirms for me that I will need a doula to help me make sure I don’t fall into that emotional paralysis during the birth.
@Katzalia I think it's a good idea to try to fall and explain your experience so others don't go through the same thing. I'm sorry that happened to you!
I had my a/s yesterday. Everything looks good and we’re having another girl! I’m actually a little sad I’ll probably never have a boy but VERY excited about sisters! I do have to go back in two weeks because she didn’t want to move from her position and they couldn’t see the heart. Kinda glad I’ll get to see her again so soon.
@rosebud332 I'm glad it all went well. I'm waiting for the midwife to call me today! The ultrasound tech said she wouldn't get into the right position for me either for the heart! I had to run all over the hospital moving and trying to get baby girl to turn the right way, lol. I'm assuming I'll have to go in for another ultrasound too.
Thank you all today Had a great anatomy scan! Kiddo was super wiggly, even the ultrasound tech said “you can’t feel all that? You will soon!” His little organs looked great, he showed us his nads, and we watched him move his mouth. He’s breech right now, but that’s not a problem. Placenta is posterior, and fluids looked great.
My OB confirmed that we are on track, super normal, and agreed that Miralax is good to go (literally, har har!). They sent me home with some Glucola to chug before my next appointment, mmm.

@AdorkablePixie no I didn't feel it at all. I'm assuming it was a BH and the Dr didn't call me yesterday. I'm going to give it to the end of the week for him to call. Otherwise I'll assume everything is good.
@gorgeousariel Well, that's good. That's probably good news.
I had my anatomy US today! She was moving so much it took the tech to a while to get all the measurements she needed. The heartbeat was 157 and everything was normal. She was measuring pretty much right on track and weighs about 9 ounces.

I talked with my midwife yesterday - I do have to go in for another ultrasound since little girl wouldn't get into position to get pics of her heart and left foot. Everything else looks great. Placenta is apparently on the top of my uterus, which the midwife was happy about. Everyone else has been talking about anterior or posterior placentas, so I didn't even know on the top was a thing! It's probably why every kick I feel is super low.
I did send a message to my primary care physician since I have a borderline enlarged spleen. The midwife didn't seem concerned by it, but said my physician should know about it and decide if he wants to do any follow up on it.
@omnommer That might be where mine is? When I went in for the elective scan at 15 weeks the tech told me my placenta was posterior but wrapped around the top. It will be interesting to see if it's moved up at all...IF I EVER GET MY ANATOMY SCAN. (Jk jk. Less than a week now.) But anyway, all of the kicks I've been feeling are really low too.

Oops. Just posted something here that belonged in the symptom thread. I am all kinds of off balance today. Maybe I will head over to get some coffee after all.
@AdorkablePixie well I guess it is more concerning. My Dr called and they referred me to MFM. But the receptionist was under the impression that the reason is because of my SCH. I guess its not as resolved as I thought it was. Now just waiting for them to call me and schedule the appt. I know they are super busy so I have no idea when it will be.
@katy0990 thanks. I decided if I haven't heard anything from them by tomorrow afternoon I'm going to call. Apparently this was referred out on Tuesday (the day of my appt) and that's just ridiculous that they can't call and schedule in 3 days time. I had issues with them when I went with DD 2 yes ago and I am not happy I have to deal with them again.
Had a checkup yesterday and it went well. If you remember I had been told baby girl was measuring small. Apparently her overall size from my second anatomy ultrasound put her at 18% which I didn’t know til yesterday. Would’ve been nice to know earlier - thankfully I have not been stressing at all. My belly measured perfect and heartbeat was 155. Apparently the “pressure” I feel here and there is Braxton Hicks contractions. So things are progressing well. Additionally I have to schedule appts for gestational diabetes and a rhogman shot - oh joy. Next week I have a follow up ultrasound at the hospital to confirm growth and I think she should look just perfect in there - can’t wait to see her!
@countrygirl624 I’m happy your checkup went well! My LO is a little small too, my OB said that they’re happy with 10-90 percentile babies. I looked at the sliders and would guess that my LO was around 25 percent. Not surprising with my petite stature! Fundal height was also right on track. You two are doing great!

@omnommer I hope they can get all the measurements they need at the next scan and yay for getting to see baby again! Hopefully your enlarged spleen isn't anything serious.
@gorgeousariel Oh, poop! Did you hear back from them yet?

@countrygirl624 Baby girl is at 33% and they weren't concerned at all, 10-90% is a big range! Also, is this your first or a subsequent pregnancy? I'm going to need the rhogam shot at some point (I'm O-, husband is B+) but see conflicting things online about whether they just give it after birth during a first pregnancy or at 28 weeks as well.
@omnommer I am also RH negative and with DS I got RhoGAM at 28 weeks and again after delivery. My doctor plans on doing the same this time. *TW* I also had it a few months ago when I miscarried *end TW*

TW- please make sure to get it after delivery and after every loss. My SIL needs the rhogam shot, and doesn't think she had it after her last pregnancy, and had two losses (and finally got the shot).
@omnommer Yes, he was my first. My understanding is that 28 weeks and again within 72 hours of birth is the standard of care. From what I recall, they give it at 28 weeks just in case something were to happen during third tri where baby’s blood mixes with yours. Be prepared, your hip/butt will be sore afterward.
@AdorkablePixie yes they called this morning. I have an appt on the 23rd @ 9:30. Which is actually a day sooner than it would have been if I was just going to my Dr. When MFM called, she said its for ultrasound and consult. The receptionist confirmed that it is about my large SCH and my anatomy scan. I'm trying not to freak out but I honestly don't know the complications/ risk of an SCH past 20w. I know it's right on top of my cervix so I guess obviously the concern in going into labor with the bleed right on top of the cervix.
@countrygirl624 We do! NIPT revealed that we're having a boy, and the anatomy scan confirmed it! DH was surprised, but I wasn't - I don't want to say that it was intuition, but I had a hunch that happened to be correct

@echo-charlietango Awwww- yay!! I knew we were having a girl early on too. Funny how that works.
@omnommer & @katy0990 - yes my Dr told me shot at 28 weeks to get me through delivery and then I will get another one right after delivery. I also had to get a shot after both of my miscarriages. The shot itself isn’t so bad it’s the time it takes to prepare to give the shot. Holy shnikes!! And you have to go to the hospital to get it done. They draw your blood and run it to confirm negative blood type (can take up to an hour) THEN you can get the shot. Then you have to wait like another 20 mins to make sure you don’t have a reaction. Half a day later you can get on with your life.
@countrygirl624 That stinks that is is such an event! My doctor does it in the office. I just have to get my blood drawn sometime the week prior to getting the shot. Last time, they didn’t even have the results back until the day after I got the shot, but they knew I was A- from the bloodworrk done at the beginning of the pregnancy, the draw was just a formality. I would be so annoyed if I had to go to the hospital and wait around!
@countrygirl624 I am also RH negative. With DD I had the shot at 28w. At delivery I was told I only needed the shot again if baby was positive. DD is negative so I didn't get the shot again. @katy0990 was your LO negative or positive?
Glad everyone's A/S's and appointments went well this week (for the most part sorry to those that encountered rudeness).
I had my A/S Wednesday and thankfully everything looks great! Baby cooperated through the whole thing, even got a good profile! It was so fast, only too the tech 20-25 minutes. It felt like forever before she came back in with the good news! I'm still team green. They gave my husband an envelope with a special card. I assume he's looked at it by now but I'm not asking. Hopefully this works out and I stay team green until delivery! We told everyone neither one of us found out so he wouldn't be pestered (especially by MIL)! I feel like I can finally relax and enjoy the rest of this pregnancy.
Im also glad to hear that everyone’s scan went well!
Had my 20 week scan went great! She looks perfect and moving and grooving! We were super excited to see what was going on. Got a good look at the tiny organs and heart beat was at a steady 144. Love the sound. I had to get up and walk around halfway through because they needed clearer shots of a few things and it worked like a charm!
My OB’s office requires doing an ultrasound every 4 weeks here on out because i had an elevated AFP (which turned out to be a false positive, whew!!!). But hey, an excuse to see her more! They said its to make sure the placenta, etc was good, more often everything is good to go... worst case if they see something like low fluid, etc, they’ll deliver at 37 weeks.
I cant stop staring at her pictures!
