1st Trimester

Mouth sensitivities first trimester

Hello ladies!
i’m 4 weeks plus + 5 and the last couple days ive been waking up with mouth sensitivities, from bleeding gums to dry mouth and some very minor bumps.  Has anyone else experienced this in the first trimester?
Thanks on advance!

Re: Mouth sensitivities first trimester

  • Very common but if you're ever unsure you can go see your dentist! They are very used to working with pregnant symptoms.

  • Thanks so much ladies
  • Yes, this is because progesterone increases to prevent the new DNA from being treated like a foreign body. This causes the immunity of the body to drop. So existing bacteria in the mouth multiply. This is a normal development in a healthy pregnancy.
