1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 9 weeks! Only milestone passed weeks ago.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically I’m fine. The nausea comes and goes but it’s manageable, I seem to puke only a couple times every other day. Other than that I don’t have many symptoms besides a couple minor aches and pains here and there. Mentally I feel awesome! Starting the last month of the first trimester with a great US!
3. Any appointment updates? US and first 1:1 yesterday! Everything went well. The US showed baby measuring on track with a strong heartbeat, and my OB calmed me down regarding my spotting (which still worries me even though it stopped a while ago).
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’ve started to tell friends and family about the pregnancy, which makes it feel even more real. It’s still technically a secret and I won’t talk about it on Facebook due to being friends with coworkers. My job is my main reason for wanting to keep things on the down low as long as possible.
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? Tough one! Probably my fancy, super sharp Japanese knife my siblings got us as a wedding present. I use it for everything. I know you’re technically supposed to have separate knives for different purposes/foods, but this one works just as well on meat as it does on veggies. Minimalism is necessary when your kitchen is as small as mine...
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 11w1d
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally, it’s getting better every week. I still have moments of panic/worry and I don’t think those feelings will go away until I have this baby in my arms. Physically, a lot better, but I need to make a solid effort to go to bed earlier.
3. Any appointment updates? I heard the HB on Monday which was very special, but it did take a minute to find it and I started panicking.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing at the moment
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? My cheese grater. It’s nothing fancy, but I use it all the time and it’s easy to clean.
@kayjay44 I would love to get a cast iron pan, but I don’t think my husband would clean it properly on the nights that he does the dishes.
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 8weeks 1 day 2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Tired, anxious. Very, very nauseous. 3. Any appointment updates? Had an appointment today! They did an ultrasound to confirm due date/ monitor condition. Positives: only 1 baby, and there is a heartbeat. Negatives: Still have to be followed by Maternal Fetal Medicine. =( 4. Rants/Raves/Questions? None today. 5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool?
I agree with @kayjay44. My cast iron pans. If I am not using our grill (but that is not in the kitchen) then I am using the cast iron pans.
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 11+5
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally I’m a little anxious and dperessed. I keep having this feeling that something is or will go wrong. It sucks. Physically I’m doing better, less nausea and food adversions. Still so tired and now I’m not sleeping well so that’s awesome.
3. Any appointment updates? No
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? My friend let me borrow her Doppler and I couldn’t find a heartbeat which I know it depends on the quality of the Doppler and position of placenta and baby but I’m still freaked out a bit. I wish I could ask to be seen by my OB just to get a Doppler read for reassurance.
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? My handheld avocado cutter. Easy to use and clean and gives me perfectly cut avocado w/o the risk of cutting myself.
1. 10 + 4, technically yes, but I wont say yes until after the US next week. 2. Not feeling very nauseous im the mornings, which makes me nervous. But still feel lousy at night. 3. US for viability next tuesday 4. Anxiety sucks 5. Garlic press
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 8w2d won't know until my 12 week ultrasound unless something happens before then.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? symptoms come and go which is a bit stressful but ok I guess
3. Any appointment updates? my midwife is leaving my 12 week referral and blood test forms at the pharmacy so I will start counting down to that soon.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? because my beautiful man is the most romantic man in the world he proposed to me last night by leaving a ring box on the coffee table. I said yes obviously, only been waiting for 6 years!
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? my mixer, I am not much of a cook but I love baking.
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 9 weeks + 5 days, milestone passed a few weeks ago.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Nausea is still going strong, though unisom and B6 each night help. Otherwise I'm feeling good.
3. Any appointment updates? Sadly I don't have another appointment for two more weeks.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I bought a new sewing machine during Prime Day (before it crashed), and it arrived today! I love quilting, and I'm hoping this sewing machine will reduce frustration and cussing...though I do enjoy cussing.
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? Definitely my chef's knife. We recently upgraded from our mid-level one to a really nice one, and it's so balanced and nice to use. Just like @grebretso and her knife, I use my chef's knife for everything at the exclusion of our other knives.
1. I’m 11 weeks. All milestones passed. 2. I have the cough from hell. Paired with nausea...this first tri gets the middle finger. I’m so anxious about this baby. 3. NT Scan in 8 days. 5. My kitchenaid stand mixer in imperial grey. It is so gorgeous. I love it.
@allthingsgo, I can’t find anything on the Doppler either, and I’m 11 weeks 5 days
I actually looked up the Doppler my friend gave me and it says it is VERY difficult to find a heartbeat prior to 17 weeks so that is reassuring. I guess we just have to wait for our next appointments!
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
9w4d exactly 1 week until milestone 2.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
I am terrified. As I approach this second milestone I am finding it harder to breathe easy. My therapist is working with me. I actually have a PTSD diagnosis from the last miscarriage. Also, pregnancy fatigue is no joke this time. After work everyday I am worthless.
3. Any appointment updates?
I had an us 4 days ago. It was in the same suite where they confirmed my last loss. Thankfully my partner was with me. I don't remember anything about the us. I completely disassociated. Apparently, I'm measuring approximately a week ahead. Baby has a great hb and was very active.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Im sick of dealing with the mental health issues. I want to be happy and hopeful. I want to remember my us. I want to just be okay. (Done whining. Putting my big girl pants on now) 5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool?
My most beloved kitchen tool is my partner. While I love to cook, I haven't had the energy or desire to even try. He makes a hot breakfast for me everyday, wakes me in the morning with perfect coffee, and makes amazing family dinners every evening.
“My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage." - Aunt Frances”
@allthingsgo because I’m in the hospital they’ve checked on baby and there is indeed a heartbeat, so I think I’m going to throw the Doppler in the drawer for now
Y'all this has been a shit weekend. Had some spotting yesterday, and today the spotting stopped but now I have cramping. Of course my nausea has worsened with the anxiety that came with spotting and cramping, so that's been a nice cherry on top of this whole mess. Going to call the ob first thing tomorrow morning when the office opens so that I can see if everything's okay or not ASAP. Some good vibes would be appreciated! This is recalling bad memories of my miscarriage.
I’m sorry @hannahbananas11, that’s no fun. Why does shit like that always happen over weekends?? Spotting and cramping can be totally common and harmless, but I know how nerve wrecking it is. Sending good vibes!
@hannahbananas11 I’m sorry you’re going through this! It’s scary when stuff like this happens especially when you have had a loss before. Sending good vibes that all is well!
I’m sorry @hannahbananas11 - FWIW cramping like menstrual cramps is entirely normal - but as an anxious person myself, I know it’s hard not to read into it.
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 10w,4D. 2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically feeling great, which causes me to stress. Sometimes I don’t feel pregnant at all, which I know many might see this a blessing but not in my case. 3. Any appointment updates? I have my 12 week appointment next week, will be getting blood work and NT scan. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Last week I had some heavy cramping and it scared me. The only thing that made me feel better is that I didn’t have any bleeding. 5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? Not sure I have one
@hannahbananas11 Thinking of you and sending positive vibes! Like other’s have said, spotting and cramping can be totally normal. But I understand your anxiety.
Baby is fine! Moving around on the us with a good heartbeat. Turns out the spotting that I've been seeing is from a UTI, so I'll be starting on antibiotics for that today. Never thought I'd be thankful for having a UTI! LOL Thanks for all of the good thoughts and reassuring comments, y'all.
My first u/s is tomorrow morning - I’ll be 9w on Thur so I’ve been impatiently waiting. The panic has set in. Sure I’ve had two healthy, textbook pregnancies since my loss but it’s always there in the back of my head.
Throw some extra juju or prayers or creepy internet hugs my way.
1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 11 weeks
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Tired mentally and physically. Nauseous. I have a cold as well. Terrified. Excited.
3. Any appointment updates? Had ultrasound yesterday, all looked good. Baby was fairly still. Saw my gyno today, he had a tiny portable ultrasound machine and he wanted to get a look at the baby even though he had my results from yesterday. So we did, Bean was literally doing aerobics in there, which was cool bc while I've shown my husband photos of the ultrasounds this was the first live one he'd seen. He was so emotional when the doctor pointed out the heartbeat that he had to sit down. Tomorrow I have blood work to do and that's it for now. Next visit is in 3 weeks. Doc said he wants to see me at least once a month and we'll check on bean each and every time so I can have some peace of mind.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? Sodastream! Gets me that fizz minus the sugar and calories.
Re: PGAL Check-In July 18-24
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Tired, nauseous, sciatica pain
3. Any appointment updates? U/S and blood work next week
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm really ready to get to the good parts - feeling kicks and movement and whatnot.
5. GTKY: What is your most beloved kitchen tool? Probably my instant pot. If not that, my cast iron pans that are so beautifully seasoned.
