Yeah, they don’t really serve much purpose besides reducing the number of people you interact with in the hopes of being able to get to know them.
As for the secret, apparently I can keep it but MH can't. He told the friend who came over last night while I was out (with his pregnant wife who I did not tell). It's especially funny since he gave me shit about wanting to tell our parents so soon and now he's the one that can't keep his mouth shut. He's told 4 people already! Maybe he's more excited than he's been letting on. (He's excited, it's just hard for him to wrap his head around until the baby is here)

I'm totally expecting DH to spill the news when he's on vacation with his family soon. I had planned to stay home already since I wanted to save all my vacation for maternity leave. Now he's going alone and I'm just wondering how long he'll be able to keep a lid on it. I bet it'll be the first week. I have my first appointment while he's gone and he never gets a moment alone so I'm think it'll come out.
@LElkCot - hang in there! I'm on them too (day 5) and today I'm the most nauseous I've been. Even the thought of food makes me feel like I'll yak. Ritz crackers have helped me immensely, kind of sneaking something down. 7-up has some merit, but too much liquid at once also makes me feel sick.
@catlady2015 Thanks! I'm reminding myself it's worth it if it helps lo keep growing, but dang it's not fun. I think I may have to run out and get some crackers today. Trying to keep nibbling on things in hopes it helps settle my stomach.
@LElkCot - ugh, I know. I could barely get crackers down earlier. Hope they help you! I keep taking heart in the symptoms (I feel worse than last time, so I feel like that's a good thing) that baby's growing and needing things from me, which is why I feel worse!
For some reason, mac and cheese sounded good a bit ago, so I'm making some now. hope it will stay put. Carby goodness, don't let me down!
Girls first tri is all about survival! Anything that sounds remotely good... DO IT! Little snacks helped me a ton and so did preggy pop drops (only the lemon though becuase I hated raspberry flavor with DD).
@meggyme Aren’t DHs funny?! They have no self control sometimes.
@Jlavo888 we were talking about when we wanted to tell families and he was like "it's you're pregnancy, I'll follow your lead." And when we're facetiming with his parents he goes "Yeah, Megan just COULDN'T wait to tell you," totally throwing me under the bus. And now this... I really need an eyeroll emoji.
@catlady2015 that onesie is hilarious. Especially if your cravings persist through the whole pregnancy!

@meggyme - wow, he really threw you under the bus there!! I guess he is super excited. I don't think they get the concept of keeping it under wraps so much. I told DH if anything happens, and he's told them about the baby, he has to be the one to break the news and I will not talk to them at that point, because if I had my way, I wouldn't tell them until I've had the anatomy scan! Living six hours away from my inlaws is really awesome sometimes.
@catlady2015 We also live 6 hours from our parents and it’s the perfect distance. Far enough that we don’t get tired of them but close enough to get there with a half day drive.
I spent a short time on ttca35 (like 5 weeks ), so I read this thread too, even though we weren't on the same board, and I haven't left there yet because I'm not sure this will stick. I have a couple of thoughts about why the daily ticker threads are so slow, even though I think we should keep them (I'm even willing to start them if no one else wants to).
Firstly, some march due dates don't know they're pregnant yet. I'm 4.4 ish, EDD 3/25 and have only known a week. Secondly, I'm reluctant to establish bonds so early, just in case... Thirdly, my EDD might change, and so do I wait for a dating ultrasound (not until 8/6/18) before picking a ticker change? Lastly, all the ttc people always get to bmbs first, the board could double in size in the next 2 weeks.
So those are some reasons I've not been posting in the ticker change, or even posting as often as I think of something. But, I'm grateful to read them, even weeks later, to get to know you all who are further along, or even just more confident/outgoing. Plus, they are a goldmine for search (which people don't use often enough imo) now and later.
I suppose it would be fine to pause and start them back up later, or we could try something new, like weekly check-ins for 3+, 4+, 5+, 6+, 7+ weeks along, as symptoms cluster more by week than ticker change day. I know that all the other bmb's do the ticker change thing, but I always thought a weekly symptoms by week progress would make more sense.
I agree that a week by week might be better than a ticker change. I know from last time being due in the middle of the month (and then giving birth at the end of the month) it would be nice to have more of a rapport with the ladies around the same due date as me. That way when all the babies start showing up there's still a little place that's pregnancy related.

I like that idea as well. I was due on the 21st last time and it’s so hard when over half the group has had their baby and you are still miserable. It would be nice to get to know the people due around the same time as you.
Hah not really. It’s just exciting when someone has the same DD as you haha! I told you silly. I think we are good buddies. We’ve worked our way from Babies on the brain to TTGP to here.
Hi all, sorry I’ve been so quiet on here it’s been a rough few weeks. *TW* for the rest of this post.
Our second and third beta were slow so my RE was concerned about ectopic pregnancy. Well it wasn’t ectopic confirmed a GS through US and had great rising betas (last was 30,000) but unfortunately wound up being a blighted ovum. We waited for development as long as we could but since this was an IVF pregnancy there are no dating errors and we never found a yolk sac or anything beyond a GS. We wound up having a d&c today at 7 weeks. It was nice to be here while I was and as crushed as I am I’m hopeful that next transfer will be our take home baby. Wishing all of you h&h and uneventful pregnancies!!!

@catlady2015 it would definitely be hard to be on vaca with family and not share. I don't think MH could do it.
Morning ladies - apparently the progesterone supplements are kicking in because hello nausea... this is new for me and i do not like it.
