@morgantu Mine was like that as well!  I felt a few little taps several weeks ago and then almost nothing.  Now, for about the past week, he's been full throttle in there and I feel it frequently throughout the day and a ton in the evenings!

  • @morgantu I'm so jealous. I'm not feeling anything!  Only felt it 4x, but now I'm not sure it was baby at all.  I want to feel the kicks so I know all is well.
  • @scaredunprepared mine was really sudden, so hopefully yours will pick up soon! I didn't feel anything till 18w then it just went up from there.
  • @morgantu I hope so.  18 weeks next week

@scaredunprepared Don't worry!  I didn't feel much of anything (just a few very faint suspect movements) until 19 weeks.

  • @scaredunprepared I'm right there with you - just waiting! Every few nights I lie down after cold water, or something sweet, and still nothing. However! I feel the bump more and more when I roll around in bed, or bend at the waist. I know that once I feel this kiddo, I'll be counting down the days until DH can feel him too!

  • @echo-charlietango yup, same boat. I can feel the bump (internally, not externally cuz belly fat), but I can't see it or feel baby yet.  So much waiting!
  • Okay, so this feels like such a ridiculous thing. It was a major downpour today and I had to do this acrobatic stretch with two heavy bags in order to get into the car without stepping in 4-5 inches of water. Now my belly hurts and there is a lumpy knot in the muscle. It’s way too high for baby, so I’m not freaking out on that count. But what is this? Did I pull a muscle in my abs getting in the car? It sounds ridiculous.
  • I'm feeling pretty good. Still have crazy indigestion and sciatica, but those are my only two complaints. This is my first baby where I don't feel him all the time by now! It's kind of a bummer, but I'm guessing it's because of my low lying placenta? baby kicks are my favorite thing, so I'm ready for them!

  • I feel like all the illustrations show baby facing towards the spine with their butts against our belly...so are we supposed to be feeling kicks or baby twerking? lol

  • @Katzalia is it feeling any better today?  I think that, yes, it's possible you pulled something.  Keep an eye on it. If it gets worse, maybe call your ob?
  • @scaredunprepared thanks for asking. It still hurts but not as much as last night. The real test will be with lifting my daughter tonight.
  • Possible TMI- poop stuff
So I know a bunch of people are constipated, but I'm having a....different issue. A few times a day I get a pretty strong cramp (no like a menstrual cramp, like a "get yourself to a bathroom soon" cramp), so I go, and things are loose.
At first I just chalked it up to a few days of weird eating, but it's been like 5 days of this now. Is this a pregnancy thing or do I have a mild stomach bug?
  • @Katzalia glad it's not as bad. Be careful!

@morgantu lol TMI is all pregnancy is!  I have the same-ish thing going on.  But it's a mix of constipation and omg I gotta go NOW. Never "normal". I attribute my constipation to pregnancy, and the loose bms to the fiber chews, prune juice, pear juice, greens juice, activia, and colace I've been taking.  Did you add any supplements, probiotics, or dietary changes recently?
  • @scaredunprepared I haven't been taking any supplements (other than regular pnv) and nothing new... Maybe just a new symptom. Sorry you're dealing with it too, but thanks for making me feel less yucky.
  • @morgantu That’s perfectly normal. I alternate between constipated and I gotta go now!
  • @katy0990 thanks for the reassurance. It's just uncomfortable! I've always had issues with gas pains and bloating, this just adds some more gastrointestinal fun
  • @morgantu lol we're all in this together.  And it will only get more gross! (Or so I'm told.)
  • Ugh, I guess I pushed myself a little too far on my lunch time walk - I've been having *awful* pelvic pain ever since! Hoping it goes away after a night's sleep. Too early for this level of pelvic pain!
  • @morgantu I'm right there with you, but mine is so predictable- it's always about 15 minutes after I eat. Not pleasant but at least we aren't stopped up?? That's even more uncomfortable.

I mentioned to my doctor that I've been feeling mild cramps (they seem to happen more often after a run/walk and are not very intense at all) and she prescribed me magnesium pills. Anyone have experience with taking these?

  • New today: My belly is so itchy. I’m having a hard time not scratching.

@PensiveCrayon YAY!!!!   H was able to feel some light taps the other day and it was so exciting!

  • New thing I am dealing with. Pregnancy has flared my feet issues, Planters Fasciitis. It's been many year since I have dealt with it but I've been reading that pregnancy can induce it.  I am in terrible feet pain all the time right now. The only thing that worked for me before was cortisone shots in my feet but i think that is a no when pregnant.  If I don't get it under control, it is going to make getting to and from work completely miserable. I could barely walk on my feet when I got home yesterday.

  • @lexidawg Oh no! That does not sound fun at all. I would maybe see if your OB has any suggestions, but I don't know if the normal pregnnpre stuff (i.e., keeping your feet up) will help. Hopefully you find some relief soon!!

  • @mag1cbeli3ver Thank you! I have an appointment with OB next Thursday and will definitely talk to her about it.

  • @lexidawg I just noticed but plantar fasciitis has flared up too!  I thought maybe it was because I've been wearing flip flops which are totally not supportive and a general no no for PF sufferers.  I didn't even think it was pregnancy related, but that would make sense. I guess its back to supportive shoes during the day and icing my feet at night.
  • @scaredunprepared What shoes have you found that give you enough support? Sorry you are dealing with it too!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @lexidawg per recommendation of a PT I work with, I tried Clarks shoes and have been very impressed. I have a pair of flats and sneakers and both provide relief, but haven't been wearing them recently since in summer I prefer sandals.  As for work boots/ hiking boots, I've tried SOOOO MANY,  and can say without a doubt the best and most supportive for hours of walking are the Ariat women's terrain H2O hiking boot. A bit pricey, but so worth it to save your feet. I got mine on Amazon for $79 the first time, them the second time for $95 because I didn't care how much they were at that point.  The first pair lasted about 2 years with almost daily wear (between 5-10 miles a day) at the farm.  The second are still going strong.  I have tried orthotics made for me by a PT and even those were not as helpful as the Ariat's, or even the Clarks for that matter.  I definitely do NOT recommend flip flops!
  • @scaredunprepared Thank you!  I am going to order some Clarks now. I have been reading that they are supportive and helpful!

  • @lexidawg I hope they help!  Feel better!
