@tosh24 I’ve gotten the same warning from some of my other mom friends who use cloth diapers and I’m definitely not looking to do a whole stash from Craigslist. The lady with 100 diapers for sale just sticks out because holy shit that’s a ton of diapers!
The prefolds are what my gut is leaning towards, but everyone has told me to get a variety and sell whatever doesn’t work for us. Seems reasonable.

@DLpanda08 One thing to check if you get diapers secondhand is that the elastics are still in pretty good shape. That was the disadvantage I found with used diapers, the elastic around the legs tended to stretch out quickly.
I also had a big variety in types and brands because I wasn’t sure what I would like. I got a decent amount of them on sale for Black Friday. Sometimes I liked prefolds and covers the best sometimes and sometimes I liked pockets better, I never really liked AIOs much. And I agree that different brands will fit your baby differently, and the best fitting ones may change over time. My sister loved Bumgenius, and I always had issues with leaks with those.
We found our daycare yesterday! I was concerned when the first two places we toured - which had very positive reviews - left me feeling ambivalent. I was wondering if my expectations were unrealistic. However, the place we toured yesterday is amazing. All the staff were warm and friendly, and they have such a great curriculum that focuses on all aspects of child development. They can guarantee us a spot in April, too. I'm so relieved to have this decision settled.
Also great - DH is the one who found this place. I think he's really excited and proud to have been the one to find such an awesome daycare.
I just dropped DD off at my moms and am sitting in an oil change place. By myself. It’s amazing. I love DD but I haven’t been alone since school let out last month. And all the time she’s been spending with me lately has made her a mommy monster. Like. She cries when other people try to take her from me. So a little me time (even if it’s to get the oil changed) is much needed.
I think I’m going to go get a pedicure after this for vacation tomorrow!

@AshVA yeah... looking likely we will have to go with one by our house. I’m a little sad because that’s an extra 2 hours we would be apart each day and a lot more stressful to make it in time for pickup given how unreliable metro can be.
Whew, got my cabin all clean today, and when DS wakes up from his nap we're going to go buy some clothes for him at the secondhand store. He wore swim trunks to daycare twice this week because he's so low on clothes that fit. Little man had a growth spurt. Other than that, just having a relaxing weekend at the camp. What's everyone else up to this weekend?

Cleaning house is in order but probably won't happen. We are going to my sister's about an hour away, for swimming and bbq. Then a baby shower tomorrow.
Guys, we find out the sex of baby #2 tomorrow. In less than 24 hours, we’ll know. I can’t believe it.
Also, we have a little Westie who I love but his barking is getting so so out of control that I am getting really short with him lately. I feel so conflicted.
We walked to get ice cream tonight and I got stung by a bee (I think - I didn’t see it). And then the line was so long we got Ben and Jerry’s instead of the yummy custard. Basically just a total fail.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt we’re listing our house tomorrow. I’m so stressed out about the prospect of moving, but we currently live in 700 sqft. Our house only has one bedroom so DS’s “room” is just a front room we put a door on. We’ve made due fine with this amount of space for four years, but I am SO ready for more space.
I’m definitely feeling lIke now is the time for us to move so I’m hoping it sells quickly and that we can find something else. I really don’t want to deal while super pregnant or with a newborn.
In church this morning, a couple sat next to me, and they smelled SO bad. Like mothballs. My stomach was turning through the whole service.
When I was pregnant with a previous baby, I noticed the cute namecards my MIL had made and set -out at the places for Thanksgiving. I had to discreetly ask her to sit me somewhere else as she had me next to her dad (H’s grandpa) who has terrible bad breathe and is a close talker. Normally I can handle stuff like that but I just couldn’t with morning sickness and sensitivity to smells.
We were at a birthday party yesterday, and a guy who is trying to start a craft brewery offered me some of his beer. I said, "No thanks, I'm pregnant." Thought that was that. He later came back with a cup of beer and offered it, and this time I was a bit ruder and said no, I don't want it. He continued to push the issue, telling me drinking a little is okay and that he just wanted me to try it. Just as I was about to grab the cup and throw the beer in the guy's face, my husband came over, told him no, and my husband took the cup. Thank goodness for DH.
@julesf817 good luck with the house selling!! We decided to stay in our current house for the time being. We have enough space to make do for baby and we talked about getting rid of some stuff/storing things differently to make use of the space we do have. We also looked at our budget and we could make a move work but we would be at the top of our budget for a bigger house mortgage payment. I’m feeling good about this and excited to get rooms set up. We will be moving the guest room, etc.
@saltedcaramel518 when I used the restroom at church the lady that came out of the stall smelled like amminia cat pee. It was AWFUL! I had to hold my breath while I was in there.
@julesf817 good luck with your house tomorrow! I hope it sells quickly. It's totally going to be worth it. Do you guys have a new house picked out or are you searching while your home is listed. I just went through this.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt that's great you guys came to a decision. There are definitely pros and cons to staying or moving. I love seeing what other people decide to do.
I announced my pregnancy at work today. I’ve gotten several comments about how good it is that I’ll have 2 “super close together in age.”
DS and the baby will be 2 years and 8ish months apart, which I don’t consider super close. I just thought it was strange that I got multiple comments saying this same thing.

My first two kids are 2 years 10 months apart, and I got comments about how it was good I’d decided to space them out more. Maybe 2 years 9 months is the sweet spot?
I announced on social media yesterday and my boss saw. She texted me and said congrats! (She’s not technically my boss anymore since our company just sold, so it’s alright.)
I also announced at work today! Got a dozen of Dunkin Donuts and put vanilla frosted donuts with little blue sharks on them in the middle of the box to indicate boy surrounded by other variety of donuts. It was fun
