Re: Nervous

  • Don’t be worried mama! Spotting is normal. Just take it easy. Kick back & put your feet up. I know it’s hard not to stress, but try not to.

  • Spotting can be normal for some women in pregnancy. If you already have a doctor,
it may help ease your mind to call them. I know that during my first pregnancy I called the nurse line a lot and it really helped.

With that said, you should really read through some of the threads here because that may also help. I know someone mentioned that she’s been spotting during exercise.

You should also considering introducing yourself if you haven’t already. This is a great community and I think you will find some amazing support during your pregnancy if you choose to join.
  • Spotting can be normal. I agree with @chocolatelemons. Give your doctor a call. My doctor is very good about getting you in for a quick scan if you have any bleeding. .

And yes, head on over to the introductions page and tell us a little more about yourself. We would love to get to know you.

Also, head on over to the knot and change your name. It's really tough to get to know the Knottienumbers because they all blend together. Here's the how to guide: log in to TheKnot, hover over My Knot, and click Account Settings. Be sure to log out and log back in after changing your username. If you are having issues doing it that way, you can email community@thebump.com and ask them to change your username. Give them a few suggestions just in case your top choice is taken. It may take up to 24 hours for the name to update.
  • I'm about 5.5 weeks, and I'm spotting very little, brown and less than a quarter-sized amount every so many days.  I thought it was when I exercised, but I was wrong because it happened on days I didn't exercise, and it didn't happen on days I did exercise, so it must not be related.  I noticed that I have really mild pain on the days that I spot, but I might always have mild pain from the growing uterus.  I get worried about it, too, though, and hope it doesn't get any worse.  Good luck to you in your pregnancy.  It's my first, too, and I'm 43.  I have been reading everything about everything since I found out, and everything says that light brown spotting is normal and harmless.
  • As others have said, spotting during pregnancy is common. It can happen after sex or for many other reasons. Try not to worry and join in on our chatting to help the time go by.
  • I had light, brown spotting for a few days, and then 1 day of red spotting in week 6.  2 visits to the doctor's later and we got to see a heartbeat both times! Doctor says there are still no guarantees, but that spotting itself wasn't a cause for concern. Going in definitely helped calm my anxiety, so I would recommend reaching out!
