Re: What My Pregnant Self is Eating (w/o 7/12-7-19)

  • Carbs. Many, many carbs. I’ve been starting the day with a Kodiak cakes pancake cup & a banana. Seems to be a solid choice (for now...).

  • Everything. All the carbs. And cheese. It's shameful, actually.
  • I just had mint Oreos for lunch. Super healthy pregnancy over here.
  • I ate an Italian hero for lunch...I know I know cold cuts but at the moment it was the only thing that appealed in the middle of a nausea moment

Someone brought in fresh cheese curds from Wisconsin. Don't mind me while I eat my weight in cheese...

@danixbanani24 - Don't sweat it. If it's from a reputable place, you shouldn't have to worry. There hasn't been a listeria outbreak affecting meat in a long time. I would worry more about the vegetables than the meat, TBH.

  • Tonight I’m craving beef & broccoli from our fav Chinese place. Thank goodness DH is willing to entertain my random cravings.

  • @danixbanani24 i agree, salad and frozen vege seems to be the usual suspect in the last few outbreaks.

Cheese, all kinds of cheese. Is brie okay on a pizza?
  • @kayjay44 I'm going to WI on Sunday for the week and plan to eat my weight in fried cheese curds...and cherries. You know, balance.

@lokibear89 A lot of bries are totally fine no matter how it’s served, it just has to be pasteurized. If not, I doubt it can cause any harm if it’s on a pizza since it’s been cooked.

  • @grebretso I think it should be fine, i really want the pizza

@lokibear89 go for it! Brie on pizza is delicious, I’d want some myself if I could keep anything down today!

  • All pasteurized cheese is fine, even soft cheese. It's really hard to find unpasteurized cheese in the US because of liability and food laws.

  • I was craving hot dogs so I had some and now I feel like puking. Wtf pregnancy? Why not make me crave something that won’t make me want to barf!?
  • @kayjay44 In NZ so I am not entirely sure it is all pasteurised, I know for sure some of it isn't.
  • My child was being a demon tonight so I decided against going to Taco Bell. Instead I made burritos with rice, baked beans, cheese and collard greens. It’s so damn good.

@ka@kayjay44 soooo true!!! The veggies are worse by far!  I probably should stop trying to eat salads from just salad etc lol

  • Definitely carbs and cheese too! Grilled cheese has been my go to like every night that I can’t think of anything else to eat. Tonight it was frozen pizza...not the best tasting but oh well lol

@danixbanani24 I had an Italian sub the other night and it hit the spot!
  • I had to eat as soon as I woke up this morning. Poor DH woke up to me eating yogurt and then cereal in bed next to him.

  • I just want to eat real food again  :'(:'(:'(
  • I went to my favorite Mexican ice cream place today and loaded up on alllll the fruit paletas and a big scoop of chocolate chipotle ice cream. Sounds gross but it’s delicious.

I’ve had a large chicken noodle/matzoh ball soup twice a day for the last four days. Colleagues are starting to make comments, as are the people at the deli.... wow, you really like that soup. No I don’t! It’s the only tolerable option lol.
Shout out to whomever mentioned ruffles and French onion dip on another thread. My mom is staying with us and I just sent her out to the bodega to troll for some chips & dip. (Thanks Mom!)
I’m also ticking over with cereal, fruit, ice cream, and rice crispy treats. My mom also made some bean chili that’s worked out well.
