@megnwingate I’m right there with you. 32 weeks, girl names picked but no boy names, no bag even close to ready.
I did start pulling out the couple NB and several 0-3 clothes from each of my boy and girl bins from when DS and DD were born. And I got out the burp cloths, and swaddle sacks. So that’s something!
I have my 32 week appointment with my OB on Thursday, and then the first of my weekly ultrasounds on Monday the 16th. I have to ask my OB this week how legitimate she was that I should have my bags packed every time I go to a weekly ultrasound since I may be heading straight to the hospital. I'm hoping she's joking...otherwise I guess I'm packing this weekend.
@EErin86 Woo hoo congrats!!! 100% on the snack drawer. I'm semi embarrassed at the variety/amount of snacks I have in my office. I just want to be prepared...:D
Me: 32 DH: 32 BFP #1: 1/23/2012 DD: Born 9/20/2012 BFP #2: 12/30/2017 DS: Due 9/10/2018
I've got a small snack bin for when I'm nursing, sit up by where rocking chair will be. So far, some granola bars and dried fruit. I've washed all of Polly's clothes and as we get more in the mail, I wash them. DH mentioned last night how great her room looked and said that I was in the nesting phase.
I was just going to ask if anyone knew of any car seat trade ins going on right now? Our aunt has a 2007 britax she wanted to give us but it's obviously expired.
@eerin86 Congratulations!! What a relief for it to be official prior to baby’s arrival. Yes to the wonderful poem...the desk has space for files...drawers are to be filled with snacks so no one takes them.
32 weeks. Started washing baby clothes, nursery is done.. we are just making a list of things we need or have to do to get it organized. To top it all off- my H is out of town all week due to work, my dog has had diarrhea for almost a day now (been pooping in the kitchen since yesterday, cried to my H on the phone about how much poo I've cleaned up. Getting ready for the baby I guess) and I rammed my toes in our bookshelf, it hurts to walk & they are super swollen. How's your day/week going so far?
Wait should we really have a bag ready already? O m g I am so behind.
Don't stress!! I think it's still pretty early to worry about a bag unless there is a reason to expect the potential for an early delivery. I did not pack mine until 38-ish weeks with DS and I don't really plan to do it much earlier this time. That's about the same time I installed the car seat base in my car too.

My mom gave birth to both me and my brother at 37 weeks so my doctor told me to "be prepared" to go at 37 too... I guess that means I should start at least thinking about packing!
Making my bag list and doing majority of packing it next week with my list for last minute stuff-but I'm a preemie mom. I'm just over 3 weeks away from the gestation my son was born at...

No bag here either but I have a bag list! Still missing a crib, and some little details, but honestly it's mainly because I'm off (preventative leave) and bored that I prepped most things. I usually like keeping busy in the garden and doing stuff outside but we've been having heat wave after heat wave so I'm stuck inside!
My motto with my first two kids is the same for this one: Prepare as if the baby will be two weeks early but expect them two weeks late.
I had a countdown to my due date on my phone and once I got closer I actually adjusted it to go to 42 weeks instead of 40. I don't know if it mentally helped me or anything, but I had heard some moms get upset still being pregnant at their due date so I figured I'd just assume I was going to go past it.
Considering I delivered on 40+5 and really wasn't upset about going over maybe the countdown trick really did help.

@DanyTargaryen yes! I’m so glad I had this mindset since I was the only one not annoyed that I went to 41+6 with DS. Meanwhile, I ended up having DD on 39+5. We’ll just have to wait and see when this one shows up!
@danytargaryen@jlyn821 I actually mentally have myself prepared for 42 weeks. When people ask how long I have I say the number of weeks until my due date and then say but at the most and add two more weeks. One of my nurses told me today that was a good idea so I don’t feel like I am failing or disappointed if I go past my due date.
@klj0228 I'm 32 weeks so I've been saying he could arrive anywhere between 5 and 10 weeks and be full term. It helps me feel like I'm prepared for an earlier labor (bag is mostly packed, room mostly set up etc.) but I mentally recognize it could be longer.
@tpeci Girl yes! I'm so sad about the heat waves. I don't even want to go to the pool.
Totally random, we have a team that participates in a cf foundation bicycle ride fundraiser each year. I put minimal effort in for lots of reasons, but this year, we have had so many donations. I really think a lot of it is due to my mil’s efforts, maybe some becase people are accustomed to this happening every year now, and a smidge because dd is more of a kid who interacts and talks herself about cf, we have a fb page for her and share the ups and downs of parenting this little wonder. I’m just so touched, sitting here looking at the totals thay keep growing, this is the most we’ve ever raised, and I really really slacked this year.

I was reading a Buzzfeed article about the pettiest thing people have done. One lady said when she gets really mad at her husband she donates money to the Brooklyn zoo to name a cockroach after him because he absolutely hates cockroaches. I LOVE this idea!
I still haven't packed a bag. I probably won't until 36 weeks and then I'll start taking it to every appt just in case they need to admit me for whatever reason.
And the motto to "prepare like they'll be 2 weeks early but expect them to be 2 weeks late" is amazing!
And other completely random thing: I got fluffy mail!
Hi all! Sorry I’ve been so MIA. I didn’t pack my bag until 38/39ish weeks last time but had a list on my phone of what I wanted in there in case I needed to do it quickly. I’ll probably do the same this time but with significantly less stuff. I way overpacked last time.
@stothi just very busy! Hubby started a new company and is working from home, a bit of traveling to see family, and generally all good things. I did have a trip to L&D last night to monitor baby girl as I overdid it yesterday and had a bit of spotting last night but she’s all good.
@AdmiralKitty that's actually been happening a bit around here lately- the over doing it. A lot of us are struggling with slowing down just a bit. I mean, not me- if I slow down any more I'll start growing moss, but in general us women folk seem to have a hard time accepting that we can't do all the things. I mentally struggle but my delightful SPD has me pretty well strapped to my lazy boy. I'm getting fat but at least my feet don't hurt? I'm good to hear baby girl is doing well! It's so scary when you feel like something might not be ok.
@admiralkitty nice to see you back around these parts! Glad to read you and baby are okay. As @Stothi said we are seeing a lot more overdoing it here as we all get further along. Try to take it easy (easier said than done). Hope things are going well with your H working from home.
@stothi ugh I had horrific SPD with my son, I am so sorry. I’m dealing with it a little again this time but nowhere near as bad. Hang in there!
So... What you are saying is that it's not guaranteed to be this bad again if I tried for another baby? I just assumed it could only get worse with subsequent pregnancy and since I can barely walk now, I figured I'd be completely f'd next time. Hmmm... Now you got me thinking... Lol, I'm still done after this but it was a really nice little moment of hope and light at the end of the tunnel to think it could be possible. Thanks for that

I have 14 piles of clean laundry in need of folding, and I am dreading them!
I probably should start making a shortlist of tasks that I need to accomplish.
I’m never going to get ahead
I have a friend sewing a going home outfit.
But it other than that this baby has no clothes, no car seat, no bed.
