High-Risk Pregnancy

Type 1 diabetics

I have had type 1 diabetes for 20 years and recently found out I'm pregnant! I'm about 8 weeks along. Any other type 1s out there able to give recommendations on what I should be considering re: risk factors and genetic screening? Anyone had NIPT covered financially since we are considered high risk right off the bat? Thanks!

I'm sorry I'm just seeing this! Hi fellow type 1! You are probably right around the time for either the NIPT or NT ultrasound. I only had NIPT at 11 weeks, and it was covered by insurance. The doctor had to code it a certain way. I also ended up having a blood test around 16 weeks to test for spina bifida, since the Panorama test didn't test for that at 11 weeks. Then I had anatomy scan at 20 weeks, and fetal echo at 22. Best wishes for your pregnancy!
