How far along today? How big is baby? 37 weeks! zack morris phone/half a medium pizza/Romaine lettuce

New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms My lower abs are sore making it hurt when baby moves down there, not sure why they are so sore. I have the hip separating pain, I think because baby is moving low and that makes it hard to walk. I am nauseous in the morning but that might be because of the EPO I'm now taking, maybe too many vitamins at a time before my food digests? Who knows. Other than that just hanging in there!

Appointments/US this week: Had one Tuesday. Baby is head down still, and she had to feel right above my pubic bone to feel it so I am stoked about that! Did my weird GBS swab where I put the giant swab half way into my vagina and then into my butt so that was new and diff, and I won't see anyone again until I am 39 weeks. I think its so weird how they space these appts, I would just really like to know if I'm GBS positive BEFORE 39 weeks just in case by some miracle I'm early, so maybe I'll ask when I call to schedule the appt today.

    Random Questions:

Rants/Raves: Ended up getting both of my jobs, a science specialist job at a local school and the library job. I go in a week from today for the paperwork signing for the science job, and the library job starts this Saturday. I won't actually START the science job until October, however. Rave: childcare. I know how hard it is for you guys in bigger citites but I literally cannot find an infant care spot open anywhere in a 20 mile radius! I don't know what we'll do in October when the other job starts. I didn't expect this in VT, especially since I had no issue with DS.

ETA: GTKY: What do you anticipate being the hardest thing about adjusting to life with a newborn? Easiest?

I was running out of newborn related ones! So easiest...eating and drinking. I am gonna be able to eat what I want and drink what I want and god only knows I am so excited for that adjustment, lol. Hardest...balancing DS and DS2's needs. I am gonna take serious advantage of the DH love on DS's part because I think it will make things easier on me, but I worry on the days we are home alone how that is going to go.

Cramps, shedding some MP. Is done being with pregnant a festering symptom?  :D

    Appointments/US this week
Had one on Tuesday. Everything looks good, but seems babe has no intention of moving out anytime soon.

FTM so I'm not really sure! I am worried about sleep deprivation and the usual FTM worries about keeping a tiny helpless human alive. I am excited to not have to worry as much about what I'm eating!

    Watermelon, 40 (+3 if you’re going by my MW’s clock  :'( )

Swelled a bit today, but that’s because I actually went outside. Waking up to unproductive contractions every night is extra fun. Sore everything, not sleeping, basically an unapologetic raging bitch to everyone. Over it!
I wake up every morning feeling like LO is low and engaged, but by lunchtime it’s like she’s out again.

Had one Tuesday, 3cm- no change in 2 weeks. Fluid and NST checks were perfect, it seems baby is a bit too comfortable in there.

Going off the day I’m pretty sure I ovulated, today’s LO’s due date. Here’s to hoping I wake up to something productive tonight. I plan on cleaning through the contractions if they happen tonight instead of counting them in bed, hoping gravity will help pick them up since I don’t think LO’s engaged yet.

What do you anticipate being the hardest thing about adjusting to life with a newborn? Easiest?
Hardest: SLEEP. Plus juggling a newborn+toddler with minimal jealousy (lol). He’s already starting his defiant threenager nonsense.
Easiest: I’m HOPING BF comes as easy as it did with DS, especially since she’s had a bit more time to cook.
Overall, I feel a lot more prepared than I did with DS newborn-wise, and am more worried about how DS will react, especially when DH goes back to work. I’ve really been leaning on DH this past week and DS has been attached to DH’s hip. I think that will ultimately be the roughest transition.

    38 weeks!

Lost mucus plug last weekend, having more BH contractions, but other than that I actually feel physically better this week than I did a couple of weeks ago. Still have reflux, though.

Had one today--I am 4cm dilated and 70-80% effaced. For reference, at 36 weeks I was 1.5cm/50%, at 37 weeks I was 3cm/50%, so I'm definitely making steady progress.

    Random Questions
I was curious about who actually performs the C-sections, but I was too shy to ask my OB since I'm not expecting one for me. I asked my friend and she said it's the regular OB. So that means that our OB/GYNs are surgeons on top of everything else they do for us? I'm impressed.

We just had a thunderstorm this afternoon and it was so nice to get the rain and a small break from the heat. My veggie garden should be super happy today.

I think the hardest part for us will be managing DD's need for my attention. DS should be fine as he's more self-entertaining. I also know that sleep deprivation might become a real problem so i need to be mindful of that. With one baby it's easy to nap during the day, but when you have older kids under 5 years old you can't just sleep for a couple of hours and expect them to survive haha! I told DH that he needs to get really good sleep at night regardless of what I'm doing because if he's home, I will need him to have the energy to take care of the older kids for me.
