Re: Symptoms - Week of 6/25

  • I'm 11 + 3 and extreme gas pains are happening in the late afternoon/evening.  I am trying to eat smaller portions during that time and drink more water but sometimes it's just so intense.  It happened with my first pregnancy too, thank goodness for gasX, which helps a little. It's basically my only pregnancy symptom in the first trimester, so I can't even really complain.
  • Loading the player...
  • @tosh24 I'm so sorry that all sounds awful, and if you haven't cried yet I'm super impressed. I've definitely cried over how tired I have been. Multiple times.
  • I'm really tired, stressed, and anxious today after an awful and graphic dream last night that something went terribly wrong with the pregnancy. Thank goodness the NT is tomorrow morning, so I can hopefully get some reassurance that everything is ok.

Work deadlines are not helping with stress levels either. One of my work friends actually came into my office and shut the door to ask if I was doing alright, since I seemed so stressed. That was sweet of her.

Finally, I miss Aleve. Tylenol Extra Strength isn't touching my headache today.

Ok, whine-fest over, time to get back to work.

  • I'm 12+3. Nausea has been slowly subsiding and headaches have been taking its place.  I'm still so so exhausted. It's impossible to get out of bed in the morning. I can rally for the morning but after lunch time I'm done.

@AshVA I've been having really vivid unsettling dreams too. I had a dream over the weekend that I could hear my baby niece crying and upset from behind a locked door but I couldn't get in. I woke up so distraught that I basically immediately went over to my sister's house to snuggle the baby and reassure myself that she was okay. It's really awful I've never had a dream affect me that badly!

  • @UnbreakableKimmySchmidt ugh, I'm so sorry! So weird how that happens. I've had some of that as well- am wondering if it's progesterone.

    How far along are you?
    11+3!

    What symptoms are you having?
The usual body symptoms- lots of bloating, sore boobs, definitely short of breath! More emotional. Digestive issues (constipation and diarrhea, gas). Some queasiness in the morning/middle of the night but is diminishing.

    Anything new/improved/different from last week?

-My general energy has gradually turned a corner over the last 1-2 weeks and I feel MUCH better. I've been exercising again and haven't felt the need to take a nap immediately after work and through the weekends. Still going to bed at 9:30 but that's much better than it was!

-Emotions have been up- I waited for a friend to finish a 1/2 marathon and was so inspired/overcome with the people finishing I nearly cried over and over because it seemed so inspiring watching the people push through the pain and accomplish the distance! I've run like eight 1/2 marathons and have watched others and have never felt that way before, so that was new! On the other end of the emotion spectrum I've been pretty pissed at minor inconveniences and getting bad road rage at almost all drivers who get close. Generally though, I feel overall 'better' and more happy, and am not dealing with that terrible first trimester malaise as much.

    - I feel like I'm flirting with showing and having a small bump beyond just the bloat- we'll see though, still seems early!

    - Higher sex drive...yeah

Overall I hope this is a sign of good things to come with the second trimester!! Still dealing with lots of the usual body issues but overall I am thrilled with the improvement.
  • 11+3
Queasiness is subsiding, which is nice :) still often hungry, though. Thankfully, I think my intense aversion to chicken is fading. I've been more tired lately. And emotional..or moody? Less motivated overall, which isn't fun.
Oh yeah..and i feel huge. I've gained the same amount so far as I did my first pregnancy at this point, so it's really not any different, and I only gained 30lbs overall last time, but I FEEL big unnecessarily. I haven't even been eating badly, so it's gotta be all bloat and whatever.

  • 12+1 today. A couple days ago, I got hit SO HARD with dizziness/lightheadedness that apparently comes with the beginning of the 2nd tri (though I’m not there yet...). Funny, I had promised myself that I would work out that day, since it had been weeks and I have been turning to mush. So I started out on my 1 mile walk and from the get-go, it was not working.  Grandmas were passing me left and right. I was huffing and puffing and sitting at every bench, guzzling water. Took me like 45 minutes to make it through the mile!! It also lasted through the day as I tried to do house chores before resigning myself to the couch. It comes and goes, but definitely a new symptom. Wondering if anyone else is feeling it?
  • @green_olive I've had a couple bouts of lightheadedness. I had 2 days of it this past week. I'm 11+6. I'm amazed you still went and walked! That's stronger will-power than I think I could've mustered up given the conditions!

@featherchicki I thought the lightheadedness was simply due to the fact that I hadn’t exercised in weeks :p Took awhile to recognize it as a symptom! Hope you’re feeling well despite the spins!

Edited - for some reason it only posted half of my comment before

  • @tosh24 Add me to the club of nausea and retching getting worse. I’ve thrown up more in the last week (I’m 12+2 today) than I have in the month prior. My nausea used to be at its worst at night but now I wake up nauseas and it’s just the theme of the day. Sometimes eating makes it better, other times worse, and I never know which it’ll be. And basically any and all smells make me immediately gag.

  • Anyone else get crampy after exercise? I haven’t been super active through first tri but I went on an hour long walk today and have felt light cramps since I got back.

  • I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow- and still so exhausted! It’s hard to get motivated at work, I work from home and just wanted to nap!!!!

I’ve also been extra bloated and gassy lately!

@BitterBetty12 I haven’t experienced cramps after excessive yet this pregnancy, but with my first I would experience cramping from time to time while excersing and just would take it easy and rest if I got them.
  • 12+6 with a baby measuring 5 days ahead (as of last week). The abdominal stretching/tugging and backaches have begun, reminding me of the super fun RLP that is in store for me in the coming weeks.

@BitterBetty12 Yes, when I do light cardio exercise or 45 min+ straight of walking/standing, I get mild cramps. That started up in the last couple weeks and also happened last pregnancy. Backaches may also accompany the cramps, so it’s just a medley of fun. ;)

@green_olive Last pregnancy, I dealt with lightheadedness in the second tri and came close several times to passing out. I had to lie on my left side on the floor to try to offset it. It would happen when exercising and after eating on an empty stomach. Hopefully your lightheadedness doesn’t get too intense.
  • 9+3 today

My nausea and awful food aversions are slightly better this week. They still come and go randomly but are no longer constant. They seem to have been replaced by constant and utter exhaustion. @tosh24 I could have written your post. Sounds like we are riding the same tired train.

I weaned my 19 month old last week. My nipples were just too sore to deal with it anymore. Turns out weaning made them more sore :grimace:

Wow, so many of these posts I could have written as well! I am 10+4.
Ditto to 1) extreme gassiness (so much pain and discomfort, and I haven't bought new pants yet so it's making things worse at work), 2) digestion issues/constipation/feeling like I get some kind of reaction to *everything* I eat, 3) fatigue, 4) extreme moodiness/random bouts of crying, 5) sleep patterns are just off -- it's harder to fall asleep despite feeling exhausted?
I no longer have any nausea (unless I'm running on an empty stomach) or food/smell aversions, thankfully. Those seem to have almost totally disappeared in the past week.
  • Extreme exhaustion this week (9+3 today). I struggle to stay awake while driving and while at work. Hope I get some energy back soon!
  • 12+4 today. My nausea and stomach upset just WILL NOT rest. I had a couple of days where it looked like things were getting better only for it to then get worse. I’m so bloated. I can only tolerate salty, bland, unhealthy food so that makes the bloat and water weight worse. And now that I’m home for the summer it’s even harder with taking care of an active 1 year old.

  • @BitterBetty12 my LO is almost 3 and always wants me to be playing with him. Some days I feel like my energy is coming back but others I just feel like a blob that can't get up from the chair or couch. I feel bad for DS some days but he doesn't seem too bothered by it.

  • @drabong88 DD is happy 90% of the time just crawling around and doing her own thing. I just have all of the mom guilt that I'm not up to being more involved with her play! I try to do 15 minutes at a time of play so that she's getting some actual interaction.

  • I woke up this morning to small amounts of blood spots on my toilet paper and I'm starting to freak! 12+6 today. My OB appointment is thankfully this afternoon and we have an ultrasound scheduled. Hoping all is well.
  • Woke up today probably feeling the best I have felt since I found out I was pregnant. It's a wonderful feeling that is for sure. I am 12w today... and can't wait for 2nd trimester soon. Happy Friday beautiful ladies!

Hope all goes well. I have read around 2nd trimester it is normal to spot a bit. I wouldn't worry too much if its just spotting and not enough to get on a liner/pad. Try soaking thru a pad 3 days in a row... that was scary. :) You got this mama, and your US today will be the reassurance you need.  <3
  • @drabong88 @BitterBetty12 - glad I am not the only one who feels guilty. My 4 year old is always asking me to play barbies, or come play with her in her room. My excuse is mommy doesn't feel good or too tired. When she walks off and goes plays by herself I have guilt overload. I do try and sit and play board games with her (kiddie ones she likes)... and that makes me feel a little better, but the get down on the floor, and go all out playing..... this mama is wore out.

bloat is horrible.. I feel like everything I eat, just expands 100x bigger in my stomach. You're creeping up on 2nd Tri, hopefully it will settle soon as well as the nausea.
  • Extreme exhaustion this week (9+3 today). I struggle to stay awake while driving and while at work. Hope I get some energy back soon!
I think my 8-9 weeks were the worse when it came to exhaustion. I work full time, so I was finding my self dosing off in my office around lunch time. I would go straight home and sleep 2-3 hours. On the weekends, my husband would say "how was your 5-hour nap"... it felt great to nap, but often times it never seemed like enough. I am just starting to come off the exhaustion. I am 12 weeks today. Hang in there.
  • @texasmommie So I feel like part of the problem is that my stomach is already pushed up and that combined with slow digestion is just brutal. I'm not sure 2nd tri will give me much relief from that, but I'm still hoping!

  • @texasmommie thank you for the reassurance! I appreciate it. After 2 losses I just can't shut my worry off. I hope one day I can stop overanalyzing things and enjoy this pregnancy!

I definitely understand. I think the first trimester is hard for all mommas, but experiencing multiple losses makes it even harder.  You think every little wrong feeling is the worse scenario (I know, that has been me the last 12 weeks) I honestly haven't enjoyed this pregnancy much yet. With all the issues I have been having its hard to, but I am hoping for a brighter experience come 2nd trimester. Today I woke up feeling the best I have felt since the start of this pregnancy.. I am hoping that is a sign. Hugs! Keep us posted on your appointment.

That's fantastic! The spotting has since stopped and hasn't started again. Pregnancy is such a mystery. I'm so glad you are feeling well today! I'll keep you posted on my appointment
  • Add me to the nausea and exhaustion train.

Also, is your belly button poking out a symptom? :D If so, I can report mine is starting to poke out already at 9w6d. Definitely bigger this pregnancy.
  • @luckymay2x My belly button too! Last pregnancy my doctor said I was nearing a hernia in my belly button so I had to press it back in all the time. I'm annoyed that it is already starting.
