Hi ladies happy Monday! It was quite the baby boom last week Congratulations to @loverin, @TravelingCouple, and @coco305 who all welcomed their babies.
This is a weekly check in for the mamas who have made it to the 3rd
trimester!!! If you are in week 28 or past, feel free to join in on the
weekly fun.
If you're just joining us please post a:
Re: 3rd Trimester Check-in w/o June 25th
@lablover78 carrying on from last week. I haven’t tried the Colace yet, the daily Metamucil smoothie combo is working ok-ish for now. I also got a squaty potty which I’m surprised to say does actually seem to make a slight difference. Costoc had them 2 for $20 bucks. I’m worried they are going to put me on iron too. I was a smidge bit anemic when they tested me before and I haven’t been getting enough dietary iron and have the feeling it will be worse for the recheck. Oh and I agree with @businesswife on the dried fruit recommendation. If you have a trader joes by you they have a ton of unsweetened unsulfured options that are pretty inexpensive. I particularly dig the mangoes and figs.
@hottietoddy I’m so happy to hear that your puppy is doing better. I was thinking of you a lot over the weekend. Overjoyed that she responded well to the medication!
How far along? EDD? 33w1d, 8/12
How is everyone feeling this week? Eh, I feel ok I’m tired I once again overdid it this weekend. My insomnia obsession of the week was the desire to organize and deep clean my laundry room. It took me all day on Saturday but kept me out of the way of DW who was working on the mural for the nursery. Side note it is very difficult to deep clean an unfinished basement room in a 100yr old house and I’m a little worried that I was able to ignore that much ick for so long. But the work was worth it. It looks so much better, is organized, and set up in a functional LEAN/6-Sigma fashion (I need new hobbies). DW says pregnancy has made me switch over from type-A to borderline OCD though I think this is an exaggeration. I’m waiting for my final touches to be delivered tomorrow as I treated myself to a new area rug and super bright LED light bulb to make it less like the set of a SAW movie. Sunday we skipped our last birthing class (already feeling that parental guilt) to go to the pride parade because it was just too nice out to sit in a classroom for 4hours and we can watch the recording after the fact. It was nice to get in some fun friend time. Even though I got a sunburn and had a horrible headache/nausea for the late afternoon/evening. Feeling better today though so all in all worth it!
Any upcoming appointments? Thursday I go to visit the mid-wife group, they have me on weekly appointments now since I’m a later transfer. We have decided to move forward and even checked several things off our to-do list to officially switch over. I’m hoping to have everything set by the end of the week.
GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)? I settled on our newborn photographer which ended up being much more of a splurge item than I anticipated, and related to that we definitely splurged on a new camera for DW who has promised me that this will be savings in the long run to prevent having to pay for min-sessions for holiday/milestones. We shall see, I’m skeptical.

So last week I was admitted to the hospital twice for issues related to my sickle cell disease. The first admission was just because of pain, then I got severe shortness of breath and chest pain and had to be admitted to rule out pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs). Fortunately all tests were negative but I struggled a lot with having to put baby through all those tests that required radiation and contrast. I’m feeling better this week and have decided I’m not going back to work for now so that I can just rest but I definitely feel like my body is at or close to it’s limits for supporting this pregnancy. Spoke to the MFM about the benefits of a scheduled c-section at this point but she didn’t seemed convinced and would want me to wait until 38 weeks anyway. I will discuss again with my OB tomorrow. The good news is baby seems to be doing good through all this. We have had countless ultrasounds and non-stress tests over the past week. Today’s estimated weight was 6lbs 2oz.
How far along? EDD? 36 weeks today. 7/23
How is everyone feeling this week? Very tired/ exhausted all the time and getting short of breath very quickly
Any upcoming appointments? Saw MFM this morning as above. OB tomorrow
GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)? Probably the travel system. We went to see it in the store and I think we let the salesperson get to us. It was pretty expensive compared to others I’ve seen but supposedly safer.
As always feel free to share pictures of your bump, nurseries, baby gear, and of course those babies when they arrive!
Nursery is almost ready and I will share pics once I’m done organizing and cleaning up in there. Here are a few from our maternity session last week.
- How far along? EDD? 32 weeks today; EDD 8/20
- How is everyone feeling this week? Meh. I don't feel great. I definitely overdid it this weekend with the move but overall I just feel so sluggish.
- Any upcoming appointments? We had our L&D tour at the hospital this morning which was good to visualize but I don't feel any more prepared than I did before the tour. Tomorrow we are touring the daycare facility near us and will sign up for their waiting list, then I have my regular OB appt in the afternoon. FX for another boring visit.
- GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)? We will end up getting the Uppababy Vista stroller which is offensively expensive but I think fits our needs the best so whatever...
Now that we're finally in the new house I am so excited to set up the nursery. The furniture (oh, that was another splurge) is being delivered in a couple of weeks and I can't wait.2017 - egg retrieval #1 - 3 eggs, 0 embryos appropriate for transfer; ER #2 2 eggs, 0 embryos on day 3; ER #3 1 egg 0 embryos
moved to donor egg in summer 2017; 35 eggs retrieved; 19 fertilized; 9 total embryos
Fresh transfer Dec 2017= BFP! baby boy born 8/22/18
May 2019 - surprise natural pregnancy ended in MC
Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks
May 2020 FET; BFN
July 2020 FET; CP treated with methotrexate
Oct 2020 BFP!
Take a look at my blog
- How far along? EDD? 37w1d. I'm due July 15 but my induction date, due to gestational diabetes, is scheduled a week earlier at 39 weeks on July 8.
- How is everyone feeling this week? !@#$%^&*(!@#% I have an effing cold. I know, it's nothing compared to other crappy stuff we deal with -- cervical exams, contractions, hip pain, carpal tunnel, swelling, sciatica, charley horses, etc -- but it's such a nuisance and I already feel useless to begin with so now I'm just a big fat lump of uselessness. We got more stuff to put away in the baby's room, and I hate sneezing everywhere and coughing up phlegm, when all I want to do is organize baby stuff.
- Any upcoming appointments? BPP (just an ultrasound, no NST) and OB follow-up tomorrow. DH will come with me tomorrow and my last appointment next Tuesday. We're also going out to lunch tomorrow after the appointments.
- GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)? We planned to splurge on a nice jogger, but it was nice to be surprised by my BiLs who gifted it to us! I'm planning to be nice to myself and get a Sarah Wells breast pump bag for when I go back to work. There's a convertible Britax car seat that I'll want to get next year, but DH and I may argue over the price, so we'll see. I wished I had gotten a glider and that would've been a HUGE splurge but we have rocking chairs already so I couldn't rationalize buying one or even putting it on the registry. Also, we'll probably splurge on a larger house next year. Eek!
And to add to the lunch date note, I scheduled a couple dates with DH the next two weeks. We're going to this deli downtown on Tuesday that apparently has awesome chicken parms and then I have dinner reservations for us on the Saturday before my induction date at a nice tapas place downtown. If I can sit through a movie, we might go see one more in the theater. I want to make sure we get some quality alone time before the baby comes.I was also anxious about getting induced, but this cold has distracted me from worrying. (Don't mind me, I'm just having a pity party.) That said, I'm drinking raspberry leaf tea and plan to do a few other things to get things moving along so that the induction won't be so scary!
Possible acupuncture session next weekend again and if I'm feeling better, I'll go to prenatal yoga on Friday.
I finally ordered the stroller/infant car seat adapter with our registry completion discount so DH took out our jogger and the infant car seat and installed it. He didn't wait for me to come home (he did the same thing with the pack n play and crib), but *shrug* he has his own way of showing excitement. He put the stroller next to our dog's bed and our grumpy old pup isn't afraid of it so that's a good sign! LOL
@2MomsHoping hope you're relaxing! You made me laugh with "set up in a functional LEAN/6-Sigma fashion (I need new hobbies)".
@safire3 glad you and baby are okay. That sucks you had to go through all of that. =/
@laurad75 congrats on your move! Good luck with the nursery!
I feel like the theme this week is feeling generally crummy and I’m in the club. I had my OB appointment Wednesday and they said my swelling was so bad, they might have to take me out of work. I’m 34 weeks and 2 days now. They pushed my ultrasound up to this Thursday and a check up to see how I’m doing. If the swelling stays (I gained 7 lbs in a week) they will take me out of work. That is at least four weeks of bedrest and then I’d have to go back to work when the baby is 8 weeks. Ive been resting as much as I can and it’s helped. I’m so tired of feeling betrayed by my body. I had a wonderful pregnancy but there is a part of me that wonders why I can’t be the same as everyone else. I know I am so lucky to be pregnant and I already love her so much and she’s worth it. I just can’t imagine leaving her when she’s so little. I really want 12 weeks or at least 10. Especially for swelling. My BP is great and no protein so it isn’t pre eclampsia.
Sorry ive been mia and thanks for listening. I’m sad to be such a downer but this is really hard.
Thinking about all you ladies and hoping for a really good week full of rest and good news!!
My swelling is worse after being on my feet for any prolonged period. I’m sure you’re already doing these things but drink lots of fluid, avoid salt and prop your feet up whenever you are resting. I hope everything goes well on Thursday.
@safire3 those pics are so beautiful!! I'm sorry your not feeling great and I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes ok with no more big flare ups. hugs
Diagnosed : unexplained infertility

@safire3 I’m glad you are out of the hospital and stable now but omg what a week. Sounds like a good time to put work aside on just give your body a bit of a rest so hopefully you can get to that 38 weeks your OB wants for you. Sounds like your LO is already good sized at 6lbs so we will see if you actually make it that long! Your maternity pictures are GORGOUS!!!! Such a cute bump and your wardrobe choices were excellent. That color blue is stunning.
@laurad75 we succumbed to the uppababy vista as well. I was able to rationalize it as a value since it could turn into a double stroller one day if our dumb luck happens to strike twice J
@jr102217 Colds suck! Colds with pregnancy complications and GD is just totally unfair. I feel for you, and you are so not useless. The best thing for you to do is to rest. The baby stuff will be there when you get better…and just keep telling yourself that most of the baby “stuff” is not needed right when they come home. It will be ok let that pressure on yourself go and just concentrate on resting and feeling better.
@irisheyes81 holy cow 7lbs in week is some serious swelling. I would also be majorly upset to shorten time with my little because of swelling. What type of environment do you work in, is it an office where you can elevate your feet, or possibility do some work remotely or do shorter days? I really don’t want you to do anything to put yourself in danger if your OB says you should stay home you should stay home but maybe there is a bit of room for negotiation in there?!?
@coco305 Hugs you are a graduate but still one of us for sure we can’t wait to join you in mommy land. How are you and little Ethan doing?
@safire3 I so agree with you I could drone on for hours and hours about how disappointed I feel with the maternity leave in the US. 12 weeks unpaid FMLA is a joke…and not even everyone can even get that depending on the size of company they work for and if they have been there a year. I mean really?!? At least some states are enacting laws for paid leave…I wish I was living in one of them!
AFM. I’ve had a bad day. I threw up on my desk (it was gross and embarrassing) as it happened during a working lunch with a faculty member. It came out of nowhere I gagged on a stray onion in my lunch and that was the end of it (I really hate raw onion). Couldn’t even make it to the garbage can less than a foot away. Honest to god I don’t care if my body ever comes back but dear lord please please please let my digestive track recover after this pregnancy. Also I found out I may not be able to transfer to my midwife group because of stupid insurance BS. I have some emails out to see if I can get an exception but I’m just tired of doing all the things so I might just let this go. I also forgot I’m supposed to host bookclub at my house tomorrow…I didn’t finish the book I picked, my house is a mess and I have no plan. Sounds like I’ll be surface cleaning tonight while listening to an audiobook and ordering pizza for the gang tomorrow. I could really use a glass of wine…I miss wine on days like today.

Not going to lie, it feels a little weird to be posting on this thread already... THIS IS THE THREAD WHERE THE BABIES ARE BORN!!! WHAT???? So yeah.
Still apparently having a surprise shower that I'm not supposed to know about, but I'm relieved to know is coming at some point. Some more of the big items have been reserved on our registry, like most recently the baby monitor, and the 3-stage activity table. All that's left is basically the crib and dresser!
Although I'm annoyed bc I just realised in the new room where we are moving our bed, there is an outlet located stupidly high on the wall, right where our headboard will be. So I'm not sure if I need to now get the panel style instead of the slats? And if I do, does that mean I switch up the crib, too? Because we plan to sidecar the Mini-Crib for the first... however long, and the whole point right now is that they are such a great match!?!? Ughh. Of course it will still work if we get a different bed and keep the same crib, but it's just annoying when a wrench gets thrown into my perfect little plans. o:)
[ETA So I was able to switch it back to another mini crib I had originally picked anyway, so here's hoping the finishes are not too bad side by side, no one has already purchased it without reserving it, and it will be just fine / gorgeous. At least we didn't order the bed before we realised! Bc who wants a bunch of plugs in the wall right by their HEAD???? I mean really. I can't imagine why anyone would have thought putting the outlet so high was a good idea, but whatever. :p Problem solved, catastrophe averted. :) ]

Any upcoming appointments?

Next week, 7/3 for Rhogam and labs (30 weeks)

GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)?

ETA I'd have to say my cloth diaper stash. I know some people do it for budgetary reasons; I did not. Lol. Hoping the savings kick in after the 2nd or 3rd LO.
First, I splurged on an entire stash of Geffen baby prefolds in all the sizes, (36xs/24sm/24ml/18xl), not to mention over 100 covers in various sizes and brands, 32 nb aios and 64 OS aios (so far). And sloomb fitteds, 6 in each size! :# Whoops! Oh, and totsbots fitteds, too! Not to mention FSTs, all the wetbags etc etc etc...
At least now we do finally have a squish otw, bc DH kept saying the whole time my diaper buying was going to jinx us. Ah well. Good thing I don't believe in jinxes, and good thing we're here in 3rd Tri now!!! So even if we end up with just the one, and this kid is absolutely, totally spoiled with like, Beyoncé's cloth diaper stash, I am 100% okay with that.
@2MomsHoping My husband always says ‘at least you have a good excuse’ when something embarrassing like that happens to me lol. They know you are pregnant so I am sure they understand. You are also a superwoman to be hosting anything at this stage so I hope your book club goes off without a hitch.
Yeah I don’t even want to get started about maternity leave. My husband is Canadian and if I could stand the cold we would be there in a heartbeat if only for the 1 year leave. My job is a small practice that doesn’t even qualify for FMLA so basically I’m just playing a game of how long will they let me have off determined by how badly do they want me to come back.
I am a fruit and nut eater already but funny you should mention the squatty potty @2MomsHoping because I literally ordered one from amazon yesterday. Here’s hoping!
I am with the other ladies feeling like junk this week. I’ve had such a great pregnancy and then starting Saturday I just crashed. It is really hot in AZ so I’m sure that’s not helping but the exhaustion, SOB, broken sleep and pain right under my boobs is no fun. I definitely underestimated how physically hard this was going to get. I have to go to Dallas for work Thursday-Friday and I’m so relieved that my husband insisted on coming.
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
I'm late to the party and on mobile in the middle of the night (yea insomnia!) So apologies in advance for typos.
Congrats to all our board new mamas. It was a fun and productive week. so crazy to be at this point!
I'm 29 +6 today.
Feeling OK. Doing a professional development this week that I chose to do. And it's good. But requires me to wake up early and sit through something all day, plus commuting to oakland for it. Its not a huge deal and people give me their seat on the train, which I take BC I figure it's not that often you get that treatment so might as well milk it. Its kind of restored some faith in humanity and considering all the shit going on in the world, that's helpful.
The getting up early has taken its toll on me and DH who has been driving me to the train. We had the biggest fight we've had in a while and I think part of it is from lack of sleep. He is a night owl who has his own business and I've been in the stating up late camp so getting only a few hours of sleep. In additio, business for him has been very slow ( non existant) for many months which is making me panic about $and well we have this same fight a lot BC he can't figure out what else he wants to do. Anyway, there was a lot of screaming and we both said some things. He also said a few things purposefully to be hurtful, which were pretty fucked up. Anyway, we did end up having a good talk and I think it was a productive fight in the end, but draining. And of course, some things aren't fixed (aka the $ problem)
No appts until July 11.
For all of you struggling with constipation, I highly recommend foods like lentil soup and vegetable curry. Those work like a charm for me
DH does pretty much all our cooking now and he's had me on a very fiber rich diet and I haven't had any trouble this pregnancy. We got an instant pot, which has changed our lives. The last 2 days being at the conference I've definitely struggled to stick with our whole foods plan just BC there's junk food all around me but is over after today and I'm going to be back on the wagon! I'm really seeing the difference with swelling from eating chips and stuff so i guess is a good reminder.
Also, those of you who are also anemic, are you taking iron supplement? I've noticed I have a lot more energy now that I've been on the iron a few weeks.
Something exciting is that my friend gave me a whole bunch of baby stuff on Monday - a beautiful crib, a changing table for the dresser,a ton of bottles,a Moby, books etc. She gave us an ergo, but the baby can only face in ( the original one) so I'm on the fence on whether to order one. We also had been going back and forth on what to do for prints for the nursery and then ended up buying three original paintings from one of DHs friends. They were a little more than etsy prints, but it feels great to support a friend and I think they will look really cool. They should be here on Friday. So hopefully next week I'll have a pic for you guys. Its really exciting and I even tried on the Moby with a stuffie last night BC I was curious how it worked.
On a slightly privileged note, we really do not have a lot of space. We live in a rent controlled 2bdrm apt. So we will have an officery (officury?) Which just means it will be very cramped. And makes me even more concerned about DH's productivity, but we shall see. One of the things that sucks is that I'm actually our primary breadwinner (on a teacher's salary wheeee) and have the health care, so he's the one who will likely be home more with the baby. But I'm the one who would like to be. And since I'm the only one with milk in my breasts, I can already see the challenges that will come up. Not to mention fights over the state of the house etc. Blurg! Sorry for all my whining. I know I have a lot more than most people and I should feel thankful for all that we have and the resources that we do have.
I haven't splurged on anything yet. We actually got a bugaboo chameleon last pregnancy super duper cheap off cragislist and DH cleaned and refurbished it. Its been sittingg in a closer for over 2 years. Its crazy how fancy it makes is look but we actually bought it for like $75 so it's just kind of funny. It was definitely a weird thing to have gotten and then had the loss and at times seeing it was painful, but we've kind of said, we'll have a baby to poor on or someday. And I sure as hell am going to use that thing, BC here's no such thing as jinx right?
I'm crossing my fingers that my friend will give me her glider. She is actually moving to southern ca and her son is deciding on whether to keep his. Everything she has is nice ( they have tons of $) so or would be awesome. But if not, I'll add it to the registry. So far no one has reserved anything off our registry, which is making me a little concerned. BC of prior loss we were keeping this pregnancy on the DL ( no social media posts, only told good friends and close family), but now I'm like maybe we need to do an announcement so extended family and parents rich friends will get us stuff. Again I sound like a bougie asshole. Apologies.
We live far from family and many of our good friennds. I have 3 friends from out of town coming here to throw me a shower which is incredibly touching and I can't wait for then to come BC I love the m so much. But it means the shower will be small and I can't imagine people are going to buy us things like expensive car seats, hence the desire to get stuff from extended family. I'm not Even having my siblings or parents or in laws at the shower simply BC of I had them come from the east coast I wouldn't get to have my special weekend with my besties. But its sad to me that they won't be there and I think my parents are sad they won't be there.
If we lived in the east coast I'm sure my mil would be throwing me a shower which would likely be less fun but more helpful for gifts.
Anyway sorry for the long post, guess I just needed to get things out. Totally understandable if you stopped reading a long time ago.
Oh sorry last thing, we've been a little superstitious and have been kind of putting off everything BC f the last loss. All of a sudden, there's a lot to do! Anyway, we had said we wouldn't talk about names until 30 weeks. Well that's tomorrow! Eek. I'm really nervous about choosing a name and what his ideas are. So anyway, that will be interesting to finally start that process. I'm nervous BC some things it takes us a really long time to decide on, but on the other hand, some things in this process have actually been like yeah that works. So we'll see.

I was exactly the same way (previous loss, 5 years of IF can do a number on your confidence) and unfortunately/fortunately, she arrived early! We were ordering the car seat in the hospital room while the nurses started to induce me lol. Luckily, my sister has two little girls and youngest just turned 1 year in Feb so she was able to help with alot of hand-me-downs. And my mom got alot of basics for us as well while I was waiting to get discharged -- bottles, baby care kit, crib sheets, etc. It actually turned out nicely since we didn't end up with alot of stuff she didn't like or didn't fit. We were able to order exactly what she ended up liking and thanks to Amazon, it wasn't too much of a hassle. I felt for our mailman though...we had about two weeks where multiple packages were arriving daily.

"When all is lost then all is found."
I am at 36+3 and feeling like a slug! My feet and legs are so swollen that my skin hurts. The only shoes that fit right now are my flip flops...
I have an appointment tomorrow with the OB and will have weekly appointments until my csection on 7.17.18.
Usually I take my DD to the park on Wednesday, but I just can't today. Last week she got away from me and ran straight into the pond. I was right there but couldn't run fast enough to catch her and she wouldn't stop when I told her to. It makes me sad we had to end our weekly trips to the park on that note, but I just can't do it alone anymore.
I am also super frustrated with my husband. I try not to complain because I know many women are much worse off than me by having no spouse around at all, but seriously he will not lift a finger to help me. Even if I ask him directly to do a task (take the laundry basket downstairs), he took 2 days to do it. The other day I was in a lot of pain and discomfort. He was working from home and used me as an excuse to stop working 3 hours early. THEN TOOK A NAP while I continued watching our almost 3 year old, doing housework, bedtime routine, and started working my own shift from home. I have asked over and over for help but he always has some excuse. I am just so tired...
@BusinessWife haha yes, you seriously crack me up about the cloth diapers and I remember you doing it last summer on our ttc board.
@lablover78 I'm with you about the 1st Tri board. I was noticing that too and hoping someone takes over the check ins soon. And also on the rib cage pain. Ugh I'm being crushed!

Baby boy born 9.11.18- the love of my life!
Congratulations to the new mommies with babies last week!
@hottietoddy I meant to comment on last week's thread, really happy to hear your puppy is doing better! Monday was the 1 year anniversary of when we had to put our cat down and it still wrecks me!
@Irisheyes81 The swelling sounds awful, hopefully it will go down and you won't need to be put on bedrest! I second @2MomsHoping, any chance of working from home?
@2MomsHoping OMG throwing up at your desk...my heart is racing for you, I'm so sorry!
@gfgrump I hear you on the small space! I'm in a 1 bedroom railroad style and the "in-between" room is the nursery. I feel like being in such a small space and planning to be here for the next 5 years has made me very resistant to buying anything!
@laurad75 "you've been collecting cloth diapers for years. Seriously I think I was still playing around with clomid back then." hahahahahahahahahaha
@cseley321 That sounds really frustrating re: your husband, I'm so sorry! I don't have any advice but hang in there and if things don't get done around the house he'll wonder why.
AFM, 29+2, EDD 9/10/18
No appointments this week! And feeling pretty good physically actually, which is a marked difference from last week when it felt like my body was falling apart if I had to walk more than 2 blocks.
GTKY: What is your baby item you splurged on (or plan to splurge on)?
So I assumed we were going to splurge big time on a travel system. Living in the city and my husband driving a tiny Mustang, we needed really specific things but hadn't even started researching yet. Then we were gifted a stroller second hand (but barely used) by someone on our block and that sent my husband down a rabbit hole of looking for stuff second hand on Facebook Marketplace. We ended up finding this wonderful woman with 5 kids out on Long Island who sold us 2 Chicco Keyfit 30 car seats with bases (one of the few kinds of car seats that can fit in a Mustang) and a stroller and gave us tons of other stuff for free. The car seats/bases don't expire until 2022 and they're only for infants anyway, so I know they haven't been used to death. Maybe I'll want something different down the line, but at least we have something for the first 6 months or 30 lbs, whatever comes first.
Also I'm starting to minorly freak out because I'm seeing my family this weekend for the first time since August 2017 which was my SIL's baby shower/right before I started IVF. I've posted before about the very strained relationship I have with my parents and older brother and this will be their first time seeing me pregnant. My mom has asked me several times how much weight I've gained (why she thinks this is appropriate is just beyond me) and I'm sure she'll make lots of comments about how I look. I'm also cringing at the thought of people touching me. So I'm sure I'll have lots of fun stories for next week's check-in!

I’ve watched all my friends’ relationships transition when they had kids and I’m hoping my husband and I already went through those growing pains when we started our business 7 yrs ago. There were a lot of rocky years and then counseling but we made it through to the other side and it’s really hard to be on the same page about something you care a lot about, while still being supportive and sensitive to the other person’s needs.
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
i don't have insomnia but seems my LO does
@lablover78 wanted to pop in on the constipation. I had it bad throughout my whole pregnancy AND after labor u really don't want to struggle in that dept ESPECIALLY if u go natural. I took colace 3x a day and switched in miralax when I really felt backed up!! I would certainly take it daily rather then weekly...try every other day and see how that helps.
@safire3 whoah what a week girl!!! Wishing u the best and ur body can keep on holding out!!

So we had our first Hypnobirthing class tonight. It was mostly good, interesting. Next steps are to download the meditations, start listening at home, and do the readings from the book between now and next Thursday. DH still seems a bit skeptical, but he's trying to be a good sport at least about it!
also the switching to the beautiful birthing center and midwife group dream is dead. I’m dissapointed but really to exhausted to be get too worked up about it.
To those with the household chore woes I completely feel your pain. DW and I have been working on this for the last 7 years of cohabitation. It’s by far our biggest issue and continues to rear it’s ugly head occasionally. The biggest turning point for us has been that DW understands how upsetting a messy house is to me and how overwhelmed I get trying to keep it together. I also understand that she legit doesn’t see that random whatever on the floor she has passed or notice general dirty or clutter. Kinda takes some of the frustration out. One thing we did for awhile that helped was at the end of the night I got to pick one thing that was bothering me in th house the most and she would do that little chore. Usually something easy that would take 10minutes or less. Then she would pick one for me. It got her in the habit of doing a little something each day, she got to know my the things that irked me the most without me nagging/yelling and made it easy for me to appreciate her efforts. Most of the time nothing bothered her so I got to pick my own chore which was another bonus because she would actually notice things I’m doing as well. Another thing we do is the 20minute clean. Basically we put on cheesy rap music, set a timer for 20 minutes and race about the house to get the most bang for our buck to tidy up.
i don’t know it’s hard. I wish it didn’t take so much effort to get help in taking care of stuff ya know like an adult should but I have to say the tension about it isn’t there anymore. I still have to nag but not as much...I really try to look for ways to give credit and have genuine appreciation for effort rather than focusing on the results being perfect (something I kinda stink at). It’s always a work in progress but I am saying it defiantly can get better.
