Re: WTO Monday 6-25

  • Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: pnv, bbt, opk’s start today, checked cp last night

R/R: After a looooooong day of driving to and from DC to see an old friend from California, I happened to remember to check my CP in the shower and of course it was super soft, high and open. So even though it was already way past my bedtime DH and I hio.

CS/Q: I got a crazy low temp even after taking it 3 times.

WAYDTGKU: temping, charting, PNV, OPK, vit d, magnesium, supp progesterone after O

R/R: ugh, AF is awful this time around. It was to be expected but it's heavier and crampier than normal. Today's usually the worst day, so I'm just hoping it gets better after today. In the meantime, I have ice cream.

I also need to get a tooth pulled today for breaking at the root. :( I'll be glad not to have pain anymore, but I'll be on a soft diet for a week. Maybe I'll lose some weight if I don't eat pureed carbs all week (like mashed potatoes).

CS/Q: nope. nothing to see here

@catlady2015 FX AF gets better today for you. Otherwise, lots and lots of ice cream! Especially after getting that tooth pulled. Ouch.

WAYDTGKU: pnv, hio, opk, acupuncture, vit bcde, coq10

R/R: Sigh, its Monday and its pouring rain out. Don't have much to add today, just off. Right in the FW and we should be hio, but DH and I just not jiving very well right now.

@catlady2015 that’s what I’m thinking. My first 2 cycles I Oed around cd 17-20 and last cycle I was surprised by a cd15 O. I’ll do my OPK this afternoon and keep checking for CM, but the CP last night was what convinced me to suck it up and HIO. If I can confirm O this week I’d love to not temp during our camping trip this weekend/half week. I hope your root canal goes well and recovery is easy.

  • @meggyme I'm curious what your OPK will say today. I agree with catlady that you may O early.
@catlady2015 I'm right there with you on the awful AF. I ate the last of the ice cream last night, big mistake. I should have saved it for today because I knew AF was coming. Now I don't feel like going to the store haha.
@nitnat007 It's raining here too, a cold rain. Sorry you and H aren't jiving.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 1 (whomp whomp)

WAYDTGKU: green tea, OPKs, BBT, CM, and we're going to try the SMEP this month. I mentioned SMEP to DH late night, but all he said was "ah, ok." I'll give him a day or two to think about it and then I'll bring it up again and give him more details about my cycle and such. I've learned to give DH time to think about the details of things and not rush him I to anything.

R/R: AF is nasty this time. I had planned on going furniture shopping today, but I don't think I have the energy. I get lots of pain in my lower back so driving isn't fun.
On the bright side, I have today off from work so I don't have to deal with work stuff on top of feeling miserable. I need an organization project. I've already reorganized my kitchen, bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom recently. I need something to do that doesn't require heavy thinking.

    CS/Q: Nope.
  • @nitnat007 summer rain sucks. I want a sunny summer!

@luckywife10 sorry about CD1. Might I suggest a linen or clothes closet? I re-organized both of mine in the last 6 months and it makes things so much easier to find. I need to get some new towels for our guest bathroom/linen closet and then I'll redo that one too.

  • @catlady2015 That broken tooth sounds awful. Hoping the actual removal and healing process will be quick and less painful. I've had quite a few teeth pulled (plus braces) and they always healed up well enough to eat solids by about the 2nd or 3rd day.

@nitnat007 Sorry you and YH aren't jiving. We had a day like that this week, and I really wish we hadn't skipped it, but it is what it is.

@luckywife10 Forgive my ignorance, but what is SMEP?

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 18

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, BBT, prenatals, HIO (but apparently screwing up the first two)

R/R: Our church just voted in a new pastor after our other one retired last month. I'm super excited about how this is going to affect the church and it's growth.

CS/Q: Okay, ladies, I'm wondering if I completely missed my O. I've been testing BBT, but FF told me this morning I have rocky temps and perhaps I should either get a new thermometer or temp vaginally. My OPKs apparently expired this past week (on the 21st), so I feel like I can't trust them, plus I was only testing once a day, instead of twice like I should have been. And I didn't check CM this month because it was weird last month. So I have a lot of stuff I can fix for next cycle.
But do you ladies think I should keep sticking around WTO until I get a higher temp?

  • @marebear15 I'd stick around WTO a bit longer. I may have already asked yesterday, but is there a reason the sunday temp is higher? That and your open circle seem to be the only outliers and I don't see a temp shift yet. I'd start trying to look for CM too, it's not too late to start that if you haven't Oed yet. The easiest way if you get a lot is just to look at your undies every time you go to the bathroom. If there's a wet spot, mark as either wet or EW, if it's a line it's creamy or sticky. If you don't get much (like me), I usually wipe before going to the bathroom and take a look, but it's harder to tell between normal/relatively dry and wet CM.

  • @meggyme Sunday I did wear a cotton nightgown instead of my usual more breathable kind. Maybe that could change my body temp? Thank you for the info on how to check CM. I get the concept but actually figuring how which is which has been more difficult for me.
  • @marebear15 SMEP is sperm meets egg plan. I just found out what it was on Saturday :) you should Google it for the complete details. Basically though, you BD EOD starting on CD8 and then use OPKs starting CD10. When you get a positive OPK you BD that day and the 2 days after (total of 3 days in a row). Then you skip a day and then BD the next day.
  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

CD: 1 (I actually started yesterday evening, so it feels weird to call today CD 1....but they say first full day right?)

WAYDTGKU: Acupuncture, PCOS diet, Supplements, BBT

R/R: So I have been dealing with a hurt foot for a while now.  I have been going to the foot doctor and it's an inflamed tendon.  I had been staying off of it, but decided to try to go walk on the treadmill the other day and it freaking irritated it all over again ugh.  I just want this damn thing to heal!!

    CS/Q: Nothing to see yet.
  • Month/Cycle: 7/5

    CD: 9

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Clue App

R/R: MH and I got to go boating with my cousin and her husband yesterday which was super fun! The sunburn on my legs is not.

    CS/Q: None
  • @meggyme FX you are Oing early! Way to go with hio even past your bedtime
@catlady2015 Ugh sorry AF is brutal and having to get a tooth pulled! Any kind of dental work gives me anxiety...
@nitnat007 Sorry you and H aren’t on the same page right now! That’s the worst...
@luckywife10 Boo for CD 1 and AF being nasty! :disappointed: I’ll need to look into SMEP! Was trying to come up with a mental plan for this cycle with hio and OPKs!
@marebear15 I would agree to stick around WTO a few more days to see if you get a more noticeable shift!
@thrgirlwhowaited Hopefully you get a chance to hio even with family in town!
@sparklingdiamond So sorry about CD 1  I hope your foot heals quickly!
    @purpleteacher82 Boating sounds fun!!
  • @sparklingdiamond - sorry to see you back here! Your chart looked great last cycle. :(

My rule of thumb has been, if full flow starts before 8 pm, that day is CD1. If full flow starts after that, then the next day is CD1. Some ladies say 5 pm, but full flow always seems to start overnight for me, so I get a warning and the next day is CD1.

@dogmomma271 idk if it's a FF pro feature, but there's a spot to take pictures of OPK's called light box. You can do them as a progression, which is what I do.

  • Month/Cycle: 3/3 since we started really tracking and trying, went off BC at the start of 2018.

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: OPK, CM, HIO, PNV, adding in BBT this cycle.

R/R: Cramping was worse then usual yesterday, but better today! Timing last month wasn't ideal with the fertile window as my husband was away for the peak day. Ready to be able to time it better this month.

    CS/Q: None

How long have you been trying: Went off BCP in January 2018, started to track ovulation in May so 2 cycles thus far.
WAYDTGKU: OPK, PNV, HIO, going to start tracking BBT and CM this month
About me: Dog Mom to an almost 2 yo golden, Barre, running, iced coffee, and cooking.

  • @sparklingdiamond sorry to see you here :( You, catlady2015, and me can commiserate about AF together.
@dogmomma271 I keep 3 days worth of used OPKs to observe changes. I don't have FF premium but that progression feature meggyme mentioned sounds great.
  • Month/Cycle: 7 months, 3 cycles AL

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: Temping, prenatals, HIO now that AF is finally on her way out.

R/R: Rant: I have forgotten to temp the last 3 days cause I was on a weekend trip with friends.  I even brought my thermometer and still forgot :# It is hard to get back into the habit again! Fortunately I'm not at the important part of my cycle yet. Rave: The trip was really fun! We were up in the mountains and it was so pretty.

    CS/Q: Nothing today.
  • @meggyme Yay for fitting it in!  I hope you are about to O!!

@catlady2015 Ugh sorry about the rough AF and the tooth :frowning:  Hopefully your day gets better!

@nitnat007 I feel like I have asked people this before, but can't remember....what brand of CoQ10 do you take?  I am looking into it.

@luckywife10 I have lower back pain too during AF.  We can definitely commiserate together.

@marebear15 I would stick around for a day or two and see what your temps do.

@dogmomma271 I have heard that about PCOS and OPKs.  I will say that OPKs have still been reliable for me up until this last cycle where I got way more positives than I normally do.  But I think that's because my body kept gearing up and then not doing it...I do take pics of them but then I forget to mark when I took them, so I guess I don't do a good job of it haha.
  • Month/Cycle: 21/?

    CD: 18

    WAYDTGKU: bbt,cm,opk,hio

R/R: Not looking forward to the heat wave next weekend.

    CS/Q: nope
  • @dogmomma271 the Glow app has a feature to take pics of O strips and compare over several days. It not only saves a pic of the actual strip, but then digitizes it as well. Its also a free feature.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: opks, vitamins, Glow App tracking, CM tracking

R/R: Rave - ripped off the old paneling in our bedrooms to start replacing with drywall. Tbh prob inhaling lead/toxic waste, so I should be more careful in the coming days and avoid during certain times.

CS/Q: for those who came off of an IUD, how long before you noticed a real ovulation pattern?

  • @surrrrahfinn Thank you! I’ll have to download it. Glad to hear it’s free, you do have to pay for VIP on FF to get the same feature.
  • I'm sorry for all of the CD1 and 2's. It sounds like it was a disappointing weekend for many of us that way. My thoughts and best wishes for everyone!

    Month/Cycle: 4/5

    CD: CD2

    WAYDTGKU: just BBT right now

R/R: Whelp, here I am. I've attached my chart below because man, it was a heart breaker. I have a pretty angry attitude towards FF right now, which I know is ridiculous. It's not like it's the app's fault. But I'm almost positive it got my O date wrong (FF had CD12, I think it was CD14, based on the bigger rise that follows and the fact that last's months' peak OPK had a two day break before a temp rise too, so that would fit a pattern). So having that wrong lead to a lot of false hope and stupid high points of probability that I'd never had before. But if I manually put it on 14, things look a bit more normal as far as LP length staying more the same and what not. Yesterday was rough. But I'm feeling better today, though now with a lot more hesitation about how to interpret things going forward. Kind of just want to throw my hands in the air about charting/temping. I mean, if my temps aren't going to accurately pinpoint O and then lead to crazy high expectations by being fluky late in the TWW, why even bother?

CS/Q: Has anyone else had a really high temp spike on CD1? I mean, that's the highest temp I've had since I started monitoring. The chart below has my manual over ride for O. FF had it on CD 12, but the coverline is still the same.

  • @auburnvelvet86 Did you continue to have EWCM on CD 13-14? I can see why it would think CD12, especially with where it drew the coverline. Your CM and monitor results are holding a lot more weight than your temps are. I can see CD12 because of the other fertility signs or CD 15 because of the big temp shift.

  • @surrrrahfinn @dogmomma271 I just checked the glow app and not only do they record opks, they have a line reader tool that looks pretty cool. I'm going to use that tonight.

  • @luckywife10 Did you decide what to organize? One of my favorite things to do. So rewarding.
@meggyme It has not stopped raining yet. I had to walk 15 mins away to go and teach, walked back and I am sweating. It is like the worst.
@marebear15 It is always worse during the FW sigh. We have to hio tonight or I am going to lose it. I would wait to see what tomorrow's temp brings. It is possible that it was yesterday. When in doubt, hio.
@thrgirlwhowaited That is sort of where I am at right now too. Kinda feels like the romance has left the building and we just need to get down to business already. LOL at least YH has a good sense of humor about it. Hope you can still get the time in to hio.
@sparklingdiamond Sorry for cd1 friend! And about your foot. That is really frustrating. Ice packs and rest hopefully will help. On the CoQ10 (I look for Ubiquinol as its more concentrated) I have used Now, Webber Naturals and Life Naturals brands. If Costco doesn't have them, then I order from Amazon.
@purpleteacher82 Glad you had a good weekend. Take care of that sunburn.
@dogmomma271 I don't always take pictures of my opk's but it can be helpful, especially with the cheapies. GL.
@jessyg2223 Welcome! Sorry about AF and the cramping. Treat yourself to something good.
@surrrrahfinn After I had my IUD out my cycle came back in pretty much immediately. I used opk's and was able to pick up a surge within a couple weeks and have been fairly regular ever since. GL.
@auburnvelvet86 Charting and temping can be rather frustrating.  I have also had some really beautiful charts only to be let down as well. So I feel for you! This is one of the reasons I quit temping during the TWW, after O was confirmed and then eventually altogether. Do what is right for you. I do think that your O may have been cd13 though based on temps alone.
  • @meggyme @nitnat007 I made a list of 3 spaces I want to organize. My mental motivation is there, but when AF came my physical motivation went away. So maybe in a few days I'll actually get around to organizing :)
@auburnvelvet86 I've had charts that looks like yours too. So frustrating!
  • @dogmomma271 I have PCOS and what your doc described was exactly my experience with OPK's. My LH stays high enough that I can get a positive pretty much any time. But I know that not every woman with PCOS has the same issue, so it's worth at least trying.

@surrrrahfinn I got back to regular ovulation the very next cycle after I got my IUD out. I had the Mirena and I thought the hormones in it would mess my cycle up, but they really didn't. I was kinda surprised! Has your cycle been different since removal?

@auburnvelvet86 Sorry about CD2 and the FF confusion. The apps aren't always right and it really can mess with your head.

@sparklingdiamond What type of diet are you on for PCOS? I've started some diet changes because of PCOS also and am curious about what others are doing.

    @jessg2223 Welcome!
  • @diaphena Dairy free and gluten free.  Although honestly, I recently started adding in a "cheat" day where I have some gluten because it was just killing me and I was becoming too obsessive.  I try to do lower glycemic index carbs, so avoid things like corn and russet potatoes.  I also avoid soy (not that I really ate much of that anyways) and processed corn.  And trying really hard to cut down on the sugar.  Energy drinks has been my struggle (terrible I know).  But I am on day 4 without one!
  • @nitnat007 Thanks for the suggestions.  I had someone suggest this kind, but it seems so expensive!

    https://theralogix.com/collections/male-reproductive-health/products/neoq10-coenzyme-q10-supplement
  • @sparklingdiamond yay for 4 days without energy drinks! Small victories, but keep up the great work!
    DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
  • @sparklingdiamond Good for you on the energy drinks! Thanks for the info. Your diet sounds the same as what I'm aiming for. I cut out dairy about a month ago (except for on the trip this weekend, whoops haha) and once I'm more adjusted to that, I plan to start reducing gluten too. I try to stick to low glycemic also and have been doing that for about a year... That seems to have helped my cycles stay a little more regular than usual, so I'm hoping these new changes will help too.  :)
  • Hello friends! So much going on for everyone. Sorry for the new faces in the thread @luckywife10 and @sparklingdiamond

@nitnat007 and @thrgirlwhowaited sorry for the troubles with YHs :(

@meggyme ooh, I am thinking an early O for you- fx and good work with timing!

@luckywife10 you can always come organize MY house now :P

    Month/cycle: 2/2
    CD: 15
    WAYDTGKU: sex, PNV
R/R: I had an amazing time at my sister’s wedding! We all had our hair and make up professionally done and I felt beautiful, which never happens. The rant is that I am just exhausted after a week of long days and early mornings!

My water intake has been much better this cycle and my CM has been more consistent- and is picking up. Not EW at this point but have been HIO anyway. Wondering if this cycle will continue on the trend of shorter/closer to the average 28d...

Question: Anyone use the Ovia fertility app? So far I like Clue better but the ovia gives you a “fertility score” based on your cycle. Just curious if anyone else had used. They’re giving me two different FW though...

  • @diaphena I know alcohol should be cut too, but that's my last hold out!  I at least stick with vodka and club soda so it doesn't have gluten and isn't too sugary.
