@emmasemm yay for a low fsh!! Really hoping this cycle gives you great results! And yay for stimming buddies. I’m on day 3 of stims, you’re on day 2– @madspunk remind me what day you’re on
@telda715 we did the least invasive to start with too—timed intercourse.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Switched from Clomid to Letrozole for this cycle, now WTO for trigger and IUI.
How are things going?: Keep losing hope each time I see AF. Especially when the RE and staff seem to be treating me differently every time I come in. RE doesn't want to up Clomid b/c she only likes to see 2 follicles, but I only ever have 1 big and 1 small one. So switching meds after 2 tries and we'll see. LP was only 11 days this last time around, which has me and the RE concerned, but nothing we can do unless it goes below 10 days I guess.
Any questions?: Who is on Clomid and who is on Letrozole? Which worked best for you?
GTKY:What do you like and dislike about your fertility doctor? I dislike that they are 2 hours away (the closest one to me, too). The receptionist is airheaded and my doctor doesn't really have a broad scope of knowledge. I love that she is an expert at fertility, so I really hope she can get me KU. Also the small, all female staff is extremely kind and supportive, and many have had fertility issues themselves.
@purplg8r Day 8! @sheepshepherdess Has your LP been short for previous cycles or is this the first time? I never took Clomid so cant compare the two. Sorry you are losing hope. How many IUIs have you done?
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS and currently undergoing IF testing.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I just started initial IF testing this cycle.
How are things going?: Ok. Had serum progesterone draw Monday morning (2.33 ng/mL) so I had a redraw today (4.89 ng/mL). Glad to know I ovulated but was hoping for better numbers.
Any questions?: This is my biggest question. If my serum progesterone confirmed ovulation today, how long ago would I have ovulated? Trying to figure out our timing for this cycle.
GTKY: What do you like and dislike about your fertility doctor? I’ve only actually met him once so I don’t really have an opinion of him yet.
I hope you ladies don't mind me popping in... I normally PM but thought others who were lurking might find this helpfull... Love to my long time IF ladies, I am here rooting like hell for you!
@sheepshepherdess I never did clomid, always femera (letrozole) I took I believe 5mg, even with that same dose some cycles I would have one follicle others I would have 4. (I took femera for a total of 8 cycles) So if your RE is really focused on follicle numbers adjusting the dose may not be what affects your follicle count. Also I would have a big heart to heart with your SO and then your RE about how many follicles you feel comfortable triggering with. Are you OK with the risk of multiples or even HOM? Most RE's will trigger with up to 4 follies ( I have heard of some going as high as 6, though for me that scares the crap out of me). It is OK to advocate for yourself if you feel she is being too conservative or too aggressive. Putting the rest in a spoiler for TW **
I have gotten pregnant 3 times, the first was with 2 follies/1baby (ended in MC), the other two times I had 4 follies, once I had twins and the last time was a singleton. I have also triggered with 4 follies and had BFN. Not that my uterus has any bearing on yours, but it goes to show that lots of follies does not equal HOM but your chances do go up. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have, so feel free to PM me. GL

@madspunk The 3 times over the course of 8 months that I got a positive on an OPK, LP was exactly 14 days. Or at least, it was 14 days from the positive OPK result to AF. Ovulation probably was a day or two after the positive result, so maybe 12-13 days. So 11-12 days isn't really that big a difference. I'll find any excuse to worry! I've only done two IUIs. My RE is just really insistent that after 4 IUIs I should give up on them and look into IVF (which I certainly won't be able to afford after 4 IUIs).
@wabash15 Thank you, this is very helpful!! My RE hasn't turned me down yet, but so far I've only had 2 follicles. I agree that 4 follicles would be my max, I'm pretty terrified of 3 so I can't even imagine more than that!
@purplg8r She checked at the beginning of treatment and said it was within normal range. When I asked her about it recently, she told me that it fluctuates so much throughout the day that's it's impossible to diagnose a deficiency through testing? And I wanted to ask... then how do you diagnose it? But didn't. She did say progesterone testing is only to figure out if you're ovulating, and she knows I'm doing that (I assume through all the VUs I have to go through).
Thanks all for answering my questions, I hope I'm around long enough this coming week to hear about where you all are at in your journeys.
@sheepshepherdess I’m not sure my RE would agree with her statement about progesterone only showing if you ovulated. After my first TI, I went in on 7dpo. My progesterone was an 8. My RE said it showed that I had O’d but I was too low and wanted me on progesterone suppositories. My LP was 10 days. But if she said your levels are fine then I’d go with it
