One of my favorites - once baby arrived - was The Wonder Weeks. I didn’t read the book, but I heard so many good things that I bought the app (maybe like $3?) and it aligned so closely with her development so I could understand why she wasn’t sleeping or was extra fussy. Definitely worth the few dollars.
ETA: But also, it’s early for this. Sorry, I didn’t choose a pregnancy one, but that was the first that jumped to my mind.
I bought a bunch with my last pregnancy and never really read them. I liked having an app like Ovia instead. I agree with pp about wonder weeks though. That app made me realize I didn’t birth the spawn of satan.
I didn’t read any pregnancy or baby books but my life saver when DD turned 2 was 1,2,3 Magic ! I highly recommend that book! It was seriously a life changer and made our household so much less stressful.
I never read pregnancy books. My husband read one with our first. I think it was Dude, You’re Going to be a Dad - I bought it and gave it to him the day I found out I was pregnant with our oldest.
The wonder weeks app app is incredible and I highly recommend. I like positive parenting books too but didn’t start using them until at least two.
Good topic! I find myself wanting to know and understand everything but I can't picture myself sitting down and really reading a book from cover to cover. Are there good reference style books?
Is wonder weeks the one with the “leaps”? Some of my A16 girls in our FB group loved that damned thing when the kids were fresh and I couldn’t stand it

I didn’t really read any pregnancy books. someone bought me Happiest Baby on the Block and it saved my life one night when my daughter was screaming her head off and would not calm down. Definitely read it before you get in that situation though
As far as pregnancy apps, I like Nurture because it shows what your wee one looks like floating in amniotic fluid. You can touch it in the screen and it moves

I cant stress enough how nice it was to have the Wonder Weeks app because then once your realize that your child is freaking out due to a developmental leap it makes it more bearable.
I was gifted a child who does not appreciate sleep the way that I do… My life saver was the moms from my BMB. We created an offshoot group and our two resources were Sleep Sense and Precious Little Sleep. https://www.preciouslittlesleep.com/

I'm reading the "Mama Natural" book right now. I bought it before we were TTC. It's crunchy, but I love it. The author has her own YouTube channel, too.
A new one just came out called "Like A Mother: A Feminist Journey Through the Science and Culture of Pregnancy" by Angela Garbes. It's really refreshing! Also just picked up the Mayo Clinic book at the library.
I've heard the classics like Ina May and What to Expect can come off as really judge-y so I've shied away from those so far.
Truth is I'll probably read everything I can get my hands on. I'm a planner...like to be as informed and prepared as possible!
I have two on my shelves, Dr. Sears The Pregnancy Book, and The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger. My births have been all over the place from homebirth to c-section to vbac, and these books have a sane, reasonable tone about pregnancy and the different kinds of births that I find pretty grounding. I especially like having a physical reference for baby's development, even though for my 4th go around i probably don't actually need it anymore.
I'm currently reading Spiritual Pregnancy. Its great for those that are interested in spirituality & the spiritual aspects of pregnancy. It guides you through each trimester & provides suggestions for meditations & yoga poses.

I love it because it gives you activities to boost your baby’s brain development and it explains how the activities boost brain development.
