Im just curious how everyone’s ttc journey went. I will say my first two were very quick conceptions. This time however we started actively TTC in April of 2017, (trigger warning) got a bfp after our Boston vacation in late November but miscarried in early December. In March I was feeling defeated since all my blood work and my husbands semen analysis had come back perfect. I started Clomid 50 mg in April even though I ovulate on my own. I took Clomid in May as well even though my husband was at military training most of the month. I had four large follicles on ultrasound before ovulation. We were only able to dtd ONE time due to him being gone. I could not believe my eyes on May 24 when I got a bfp.
With both my DD’s we tried 2 months before we got pregnant. With this pregnancy we decided to “pull the goalie” (take the IUD out) and not try but not avoid and we were pregnant a week later. I’m still in shock.
I’ve been TTC since September 2014. 49 cycles. Almost four years. I’ve had five losses and hoping this baby is here to stay.

TTC Naturally, possibly IUIs for remainder of 2018. ER#2 ~Jan 2019
My first pregnancy I was shocked to get a BFP on the "first try."
This time we've been TTC since November 2015. In September 2016 I went to my first appointment at a fertility clinic and came out crying and a nervous wreck so I didn't go back. I had one round of blood work done but insurance denied it twice and I literally JUST finished paying it off so needless to say I had little interventions done but not for lack of trying.
TLDR- this go around was much more frustrating and I'm so excited and nervous to FINALLY have a BFP
First one, I was 20 and got pregnant while I was on BC and antibiotics.. because apparently that really is a thing.
Second one, not trying/not preventing but got BFP the first cycle off of BC.
Number three (now), I had my Mirena removed in March and got BFP pretty quickly before having a real cycle, but *TW* had an early loss at the end of April. Got another BFP 4 weeks later again without an actual period. It’s been an anxious run this time around.
We only tried for 3 months. I was shocked because I have PCOS. We knew we wanted to have kids sooner rather than later. I thought it would take a long time due to my diagnosis. I was in the process of completely overhauling my diet and losing weight. I was so surprised and excited to actually be pregnant that I didn’t believe my eyes when the second line showed up! Sometimes I still can’t believe I’m pregnant.
With DS, we tried for close to a year. We had just started some fertility testing when I got my BFP.
We started trying when DS turned 6m (I had already started my cycle and was still BFing). My cycles were still irregular but was temping. The cycle we got KU, I actually hadn't been temping. It was about 5m of active trying.
We DD it took us a year and a half and *tw* two losses
With this one we just decided to start trying and got a BFP right away. I’m still in disbelief and worried this may not stick since it happened so fast.
I stopped BC in February, avoided by others means in March because a December due date would have been a bit problematic (turns out a Feb due date is cutting it really close... ) and then got our BFP with the second cycle of trying.
I never thought it would happen so fast but I could just feel it in the week before I tested. I feel so incredibly fortunate.
My second we tried for a couple of months before deciding to stop because of some stuff going on in our life and then found out we were pregnant, of course.
This one we never went on BC or tried to prevent after we had our 2nd. It took almost a year, although some of that time was due to breastfeeding (no cycle) and my husbands work schedule.
I was on BC until January, when I had to get off of it because I got literally all the side effects (except for blood clots) and was absolutely miserable. We used other BC methods until April, when we stopped trying to prevent it (but we knew the timing was off because I had been gone for most of the month.) Then we got the BFP early June. I’m still kind of shocked at how quickly it happened, honestly.
Second, IUD came out In November and we just weren’t preventing but my husband was transferring jobs at the time so we were hardly together. Got pregnant when we were together permanently again and really started trying in February but *TW* had an early loss and then a wonky cycle after it and then got pregnant again the next cycle and here we are.
With DD it took 2.5 years 4 IVF cycles each with a failed transfer and a frozen transfer that end in MMC. Finally donor eggs worked the first time trying them May 2016. This time we went straight to donor eggs and got pregnant the first transfer.

I had wanted to start trying since I will be the big 40 in October and thought it could take awhile. Well big shock to us i got a bfp on our first try! Reading what others go thru I feel very lucky, just hoping for the best.
I have PCOS and a bicornuate uterus which makes TTC very difficult for us. With DD, it took one month shy of six years and six losses before we finally got our rainbow baby in August last year.
Then we had an oops BFP which ended up in a MC in January. Three months TTC afterward, we got our BFP for this LO. I’m honestly shocked it happened so quickly. TBH I’m also a bit jaded about the potential prognosis of a positive outcome. But hey, one day at a time! Trying to think positively!
We started trying in January of this year, and got pregnant in February. That pregnancy MC'd in mid-March at a little over 6 weeks. Started trying again in April, and got pregnant with this current one in late May. So both times, I conceived within two cycles of starting to try. I felt very lucky, since I have friends who had to try for a year or more to get their bfp. Background: I'm 29 and don't have any health conditions (as far as I'm aware). OB thinks my MC back in March was due to a genetic abnormality of the embryo and didn't see any warning signs in my health record to warrant testing. I agree with her, and hope this one sticks! If it doesn't, then odds are something else is at play and I'll have some testing done to check thyroid levels and hormone levels.
DD took one cycle of “let’s see what happens” and this current tadpole was about 2 months of the same method. Have felt really fortunate to have gotten BFP so easily.
@lifeislove87 , you have had quite the journey as well. So happy to hear you have found success.
There seems to be many people here who had suffered from IF and/or loss. How heartbreaking that there are so many of us. I am humbled to see so many others who did not struggle acknowledge their good fortune and be considerate of those of us that haven't had suck luck.

(Trigger warnings up the wazoo: I got pregnant the second time on my first try, but lost that baby at 5 weeks. I never got my period, and got pregnant 2 weeks later, but lost that baby at 10 weeks I was benched for 2 cycles after 2 d&cs, and was fortunate to conceive on our second month trying- and she’s a healthy 17 mo old).
This is my 5th pregnancy, conceived on the first try. I’m shocked and scared because it feels too easy, but I’m just praying we already had our share of bad luck.
I am 32 yrs old & happily 6w3d with my 1st pregnancy (my little sweet pea) - My husband & I are very blessed to have gotten pregnant on the 1st month we tried. I have been tracking my cycles for 4 years since I decided to stop taking the pill & switched to condoms exclusively. We decided just to have “free love” whenever it felt right. Turned out to everyday or every-other day (Yeahh no condoms!)
Started trying in may last year, got pregnant after 4 cycles *TW- loss* only to lose it, we found out at the 9 week scan when it was only measuring 6w4d with no heartbeat. Had a D&E then started trying again a few month later. Last month had a CP which was crushing. *end TW* I have a good feeling this time (which is obviously not scientific in the least) but im sure that won't stop me from being a crazy person until i see a heartbeat on a scan.
We never really “tried” with DD or DS. I tried temping before DD because I was convinced with my hypothyroidism that I’d have trouble conceiving. I had a hard time getting it to read accurately. I tried OPKs and I never really got a solid positive. I just tracked my periods after that. I’m a “like clockwork” person, so all of that concern was really for naught. It took two months of not preventing for both DD and DS to be conceived and we were still preventing for this one.
@kayjay44 my 4yo has been asking for a baby sister for the past 6 months. I’ve been side eyeing her, too.
TW I got pregnant on our 4th cycle this time as well but it ended in a early loss. Same the next cycle. Then nothing for several months and this was our last month trying naturally before resorting to using a frozen embry (I went through fertility preservation due to some other health issues) end TW
We tried since our surprise in January that ended in a CP. We had a few months of really bad timing due to all sorts of stupid reasons, but finally got it right last month! Hopefully this LO will stick.
We’ve been very fortunate and conceived in two cycles with our daughter and one cycle with this pregnancy. I’m 36 and while my doctor assured me that fertility doesn’t typically start declining noticeably until 40, it’s always something i worry about a little.
For my first pregnancy it took us 6 months. We thought that it might take a little while when we decided to try for number 2, but we were very lucky and it happened first try.
@soon2bepartyof7 I appreciate that you acknowledge the struggles many of us have gone through, but please never suggest that we don't know our bodies well. Knowing when you ovulate is not a cure for infertility, nor is regular ovulation a guarantee that conceiving will be easy. There are so, so many of us on these boards with unexplained infertility, so please don't feed the myth that all you need is a bit of knowledge to get KU.

First pregnancy took 9 months to conceive and then I had a MMC. I became pregnant with DS on the second cycle after the miscarriage. I was extremely lucky and conceived DD the first cycle trying. This time around, I had a CP the first cycle we tried and then 8 months of nothing before my current BFP. I feel extremely fortunate that we've been as lucky as we have, even with a couple bumps in the road.
