I'm getting my TDAP shot at my next appointment that is scheduled for 28+6. The only interesting thing I have to add is that my Doctor said that you have to be 28 weeks (or more) to get this. And 24 weeks (or more) for the GD test. I had been routinely going for my monthly appointments on Thursdays the day before I switch to the new week. So my 24 week appointment was when I was 23+6. That was just convenient for us and the doctor doesn't work on Fridays. In my opinion, the due date is off anyway, but going 1 day early means I have to go back another time for the GD test. So I made sure to schedule the next appoinment 5 weeks later (at almost 29 weeks) to avoid having to go back another time for the booster shot. But now I feel like the weeks are ackward. I will start my every 2 weeks appointments after this and they will now be Weeks 29, 31, 33, etc. It's bothering my schedule related OCDness a little bit!
27/28 week appt tomorrow. Had to schedule early because OB is going on vacation. GTT before my appt as well. Tomorrow is the first appointment I will have both my girls at. I probably should have wrote down the questions I’ve been wanting to ask because now I can’t remember what questions I had. The main question I want to ask is if I can be discharged the day I have the baby. I do not want to stay overnight in the hospital. Fingers crossed.
Appt this morning, and I’m getting a little nervous to get the results of the glucose test. I guess I have no reason to think I might have GD, but I’m a bit overweight, have had terrible fatigue the whole pregnancy, and am always thirsty, so I know it’s possible. DH has come with me to every appt and today he can’t go, and he feels bad.

45 minutes now waiting lol. I’ve mentioned this before. When I got here I asked if the doctor was on schedule and the receptionist said yes. After 30 minutes I said “I’m so sorry, I don’t want to be difficult but you said she was on schedule and it’s been 30 minutes.” And she smiled and said “I did say that, didn’t I” so now I’m waiting in an exam room instead. I complained on fb and a friend started lecturing me on how ob emergencies happen and she once got mad and then felt awful seeing a woman being taken to the hospital scared and crying. Thanks bitch for the guilt, but there is no emergency, this is just how this office is run. I’ve never waited less than 45-60 minutes.
How far along? 23 weeks Any appointments this week? Just had a regular check up. Heartbeat was strong. Results from my US came in and all is well. They gave me an appt for my RhIG shit as I am Rh-. Next appt is not for a month and that will be my glucose test.
I had my glucose tolerence test today, I had to fast overnight and the had to wait 2 hours to get my blood drawn. It seams that there are at lest 4 variations of the test which makes it very confusing.
My appointment leaflet and midwife said that I was only allowed sips of water from last night, and as I expected I got dehydrated and felt unwell for most of the rest of today. (I've had low blood pressure in pregnancy). I've got home tonight and the hospital website says that you can drink water freely when fasting
Hi ladies, just a heads up on fasting blood work. Double check with your provider office ahead of time, but typically you can drink water, black coffee (no cream or sugar) and tea (no cream or sugar) all you want. We are all getting close to the GD test, and this might save you from feeling absolutely miserable. As I said, double check with your doctor. Typically with fasting blood work you can and should take any morning meds as well, once again Check with the provider’s office.
I just hate reading so many of you starving or feeling bad for a long time because you thought you couldn’t have anything. Obviously still no food but water, coffee or tea can sometimes stave off hunger a little bit.
@ashh2018 I love my OB but the rest of the staff literally sucks so much. The company for my breast pump has been waiting over a week for the prescription for the pump. I've left messages with the office and the company has too. It can't be shipped out until the 18th anyway but I'll be talking to my dr about it at my appointment next Wednesday.
I had my 24 week check yesterday. Woohoo! Baby girl's heart beat was great and easy to find now that she is large and cant wiggle away. I got my referral for the Gestational diabetes test...boooooo! I almost threw up last time, and I am gonna procrastinate taking it. I HATED it.
I saw a Dr. I havent seen since I was pregger with DD, and I remember why I wasn't a huge fan...she always goes through weight gain thoroughly. No other Dr. in my practice has so much as mentioned weight gain. Shame because I hear she is amazing for delivery, but her mannerisms just makes me hope she isn't on call when I deliver.

My 1 hr GD test I'm not told to fast for, but these are the same rules my PCP gives for their fasting bloodwork. So definitely ask!! Don't be completely miserable if you don't have to be!!

What a nightmare! I was allowed to go work and come back for my blood work after the Glucola, which was nice, but it took 3 attempts to get my labs. By then, the sugar rush had me feeling nauseated and then them digging a needle around in my arm sent me nearly passing out. Which is sad...as I’m sitting in my OR scrubs nearly fainted. I’m sure I looked like a wuss, but she was doing some crazy digging with her needle. My arm now is throbbing up my bicep because she assaulted my nerve. Luckily, they sent a second tech in and she was able to get my blood quickly. I was determined to get this done and not have to repeat the damn test! All is well with baby and me, and since I’m low-risk without red flags and work next door to L&D, I can stick to a monthly appointment for now.
@Wishilivedinflorida I’m sorry about the blood draw. That’s never fun. I had a thyroid issue a while back that had me getting blood drawn 3 times a week. The blood lab I was going to was staffed by massively incomplete people and it least took them 2-3 tries to get the needle in. And then they’d try to say it was my fault for moving. But if you’re going to stick a needle in someone’s arm and keep wiggling it around, you really can’t blame them for flinching. And I’ve never had an issue anywhere else so im pretty sure it wasn’t me.
27 weeks exactly. Had a midwife home visit. Everything looks good other than a potential UTI, or at least what could turn into one. So we're going to try some herbs (she's an herbalist) first, see where we're at Tuesday when I see my doc and decide if we need antibiotics then. Given that I have no symptoms and it's only 4 days, I'm glad to give it a try, antibiotics always give me yeast issues.
Also, baby is conveniently head down, and just judging exclusively by the Doppler, it sounds like placenta has moved. I'm hoping her instincts on that are good, as I've got to wait 2.5 weeks before an ultrasound check.

@pourmeamocktail Yay! It sounds like an optimistic appointment! I know 2.5 week wait will be hard. I’m have 3 more weeks until my placenta check. Happy thoughts!
Had my monthly check-up Friday at 25+1. Everything looked good. We booked the next appointment 3 weeks out instead of 4 to get me more on track with appointment timing since they want to do the first placenta location follow-up u/s at 28 weeks. So I go back on June 29. I'll have my u/s, my monthly check-up, and my rhogam shot. I also was given a lab order for the glucose test so I need to do it that last week of June leading up to my appt.

@mrsman2018 I had to get my rh shot this morning! Not too painful, all things considered.
