Re: Weekly Symptoms w/o 6.3

  • Week 13 and my tummy still is so irritable. Food is such a chore lately, and I’m running out of foods that I can eat.

@maureenmce and @AGK2015 I’m so sorry to hear you’re puking into your second tri. I hope that ish calms down a bit.

  • I'm 13 weeks tomorrow, and although I've had all day nausea since week 5 or 6, I began puking 2 days ago. I'm seriously hoping this ends soon! It seems cruel that it's getting worse on the cusp of 13 weeks!

  • So I’m still puking sometimes, but I am actually having a bit of an appetite in between. And I finally stopped losing weight!! First time in my life that I am thrilled about not losing weight, so it’s kind of weird to say that, but I was losing too much weight the past few months and my OB was starting to worry if it didn’t stop by early 2nd trimester. So here I am at week 11 holding steady and feeling very relieved.
  • @EloiseWeenieSkipperdee love the name! Sorry you are feeling worse, not better just around the corner from 2nd trimester. There’s a certain helplessness of our bodies being hijacked and on this ride for whatever happens in these 40 weeks. Hopefully you start feeling better soon.
  • Had a fun morning. My OB said to try Tums first to stop my reflux vomiting. So I had a them this morning, immediately threw them up. Then she said to try Pepcid, had that, immediately threw up. I am really hoping this gets better because it is ROUGH right now.
  • @maureenmce *creepy internet hugs* Sorry you're becoming a reverse peristalsis expert :frowning: Is late-onset HG possible?

  • @echo-charlietango I'm not sure! There's no nausea and the vomiting is (gross TMI sorry) accompanied by lots of burping, so I'm assuming just bad reflux rather than HG, but my OB was concerned that I can't even keep down a sip of water in the morning. She said I need to watch out for dehydration, and if I can't keep water or food down the rest of the day I need to go to the ER. But as of right now, I just can't keep any food or liquids down between 7-11 am. So, as long as I can eat and drink the rest of the day it's okay. I see her next Tuesday so I'm hoping to ask some more questions then. She did say sometimes it takes a few days for Pepcid to work, but I wonder how it can work at all if I throw it up? I'm going to try to change my diet to more bland foods or whatever is good for reflux and hopefully that will help.

Just 25 more weeks and change to go...
  • @maureenmce ugh I’m just so sorry you’re going through this.

  • @rosebud332 Thank you! I'm having a really tough time today, physically and mentally, so that means a lot! <3
  • @maureenmce can you take Pepcid at night right before bed? That way it has an opportunity to get into your system?

This +1000. I take zantac at night and it works better than waiting until morning.

I haven’t been around much at all or reading. Struggling with Hyperemesis but I wanted to see how everyone’s doing. Hope the nausea lifts soon for you guys!
  • Anyone else feeling like their tailbone/low back is constantly pinching? I don't know how to describe the feeling but it's like my back is out in the very last few vertebrae, and only sporadically. I dunno, but it is super uncomfortable.
  • @Jens_Hoes and @Katzalia - Unfortunately, the Pepcid can't interact with my thyroid medication apparently, so I've had to switch all of my medications around. So, I'm taking my thyroid medicine at night, right before bed, two hours after eating, then I am waking up an hour before my alarm and taking the Pepcid so it's got some time to work before I try to eat or drink anything. In good news, it worked this morning! I haven't vomited yet today (fingers crossed I won't) so I think the new routine is a success. I also barely ate until 11 (7-11 seems to be my danger zone) just had half a small piece of toast and 2 sips of water and I think that helped.

So I will probably be on this routine for the foreseeable future!
  • @maureenmce glad to hear it worked for you today!
  • @maureenmce So glad yesterday was better!! Fx you found your cure.
