@goldie987 we have a video of my oldest at 2 dipping oreo cookies pieces into Chef Boyardee sauce. They sure do have weird tastes! I've also found that as long as I put applesauce on it, DD2 will eat it. Helps her eat veggies and try anything new she otherwise eyes suspiciously.
@MojieJo that's scary, but thankfully the baby has a lot of protection in the back! I hope you heal soon!
@lachnessmomster it was a lot of fun, and it really helped work out some issues I'm having with my left hip. I definitely felt some soreness yesterday and today, but also not feeling as pained when I do sit for an extended period of time.
@MojieJo ow! I tumbled down the stairs the other day carrying laundry and had that same moment of panic. But baby is moving and seems fine. Like others have said, they are protected, but calling hope OB can’t hurt.
I was more active in the beginning and then exhaustion hit at 12 weeks and between that and trying to keep up with my other BMB in which I am active, I haven't been very active here in the last 5 weeks or so. I've lurked every couple of days but by the time I'm done reading, I have no time left for commenting or have nothing to add to the conversation by that point. Then yesterday I decided I need to come back and be more active so I've been trying to get more involved. I hope no one minds that I'm jumping in.
Anyway, are you guys wearing maternity clothes yet? I have been able to squeeze into my larger normal clothes but I'm thinking I am going to pull out my maternity stash today and go through it. It still feels early but I'm ready for a change in wardrobe and for a wider selection. The things I can wear are becoming less and less by the week.

@vrj0522 I've been wearing maternity pants since about 12 weeks, they're just more comfortable. Definitely go for it if things are starting to get tight.
@vrj0522 I also have some larger sized clothes that still fit, but am wearing mostly maternity clothes or flowy dresses. I feel like maternity clothes are cut to be so much more flattering and show that you’re actually pregnant where my normal, bigger clothes just make me look like I’ve gained a bunch of weight in my stomach area. I much prefer to look like I have a tiny bump so I will wear my maternity clothes from now on!
@offtoneverland Just hang around.. some trips planned but nothing big! Oregon coast and Chicago, and then maybe some day trips? Want to do an international one soon but too nervous to be far from my hospital just in case Maybe after the baby comes! @melicee14 lol same-- my husband keeps being jealous but also really happy that I can do more of the cooking and cleaning now.. double edged sword I guess!
@firsttimespartanmom - That is such a good point about fit. We had family pictures last week and I wore a maternity dress because I wanted to look pregnant in the pictures and not just like I'd gained a bunch of weight. I think I will definitely start the switch now.

Nipple itch. No matter what, nipple is itching. A horrible burning itch. ALMOST sure it's the worst symptom yet but that's just because I haven't been nauseous in a while.
Please tell me I am not the only one that walks around in public with their hand on their belly. I think I do it so that people know it isn't just fat, its baby! I know the baby isn't that high yet but I definitely have a bump going on from bloating/organs being pushed up.
@bfpafter4years You are definitely not the only one! I love being pregnant and I love my bump, so I have my hand on it all the time. Is that weird? Oh well. I also just really like having a place to put my hands. After I had DD, it felt so weird not having a place to rest my hands. @the-lo Yes! Mine have been really itchy too. Not really a burning itch though, so it's not super uncomfortable. I hope yours gets better soon so you're not so uncomfortable! @vrj0522 Of course it's not a problem for you to jump back onto the board. It's good seeing you around again!
@vrj0522 Maybe it’s because I’m so short and have a short torso, but I’m super impressed with anyone not in maternity clothes at this point! I’ve been in maternity clothes since 10 weeks, and I was wearing pants a size bigger than normal due to bloat for a few weeks before that. And my boobs made my normal shirts not fit by 8-10 weeks, too, haha.
@bfpafter4years I do the exact same thing. Hands always on the belly. Being plus size also I want it to be known I’m not just gaining weight I’m growing a human.
I've been wearing my normal clothes because maternity clothes are still too big and hang awkwardly and my regular clothes still fit, but I do feel like wearing my normal t-shirts makes me look like I've eaten too many burritos or something when they get pulled snug against my belly since only my stomach is bigger.
I'm having kind of an issue here now... I'd rather look pregnant with a small bump than bloated, but my maternity clothes just plain don't fit yet. I could wear the shirts and deal with the belly not being filled out, I guess, but I'm not really sure that would give me the tiny bump look, either. The pants are too big, though, and there's no need to switch since my normal shorts sit under my bump and are perfectly comfortable without being unzipped or unbuttoned.
Last time, with my twins, I was in maternity by about 15 weeks, I think, but that was for comfort and out of excitement (couldn't wait to wear maternity clothes as a FTM). I couldn't keep maternity pants up then, either, though.
I think I just wore maternity tops and low rise shorts/pants until I was further along, IIRC. Of course, then they wouldn't stay up because I'm long-torsoed and the full panel on maternity pants hits me just above my bellybutton and end up sliding down because they're not cut right for my body, so that didn't work out so well, either.
@bfpafter4years@runningyogimama I am always rubbing my bump! Can't keep my hand off it! I find myself resting my arms on my bump because it's out that far. I have the shortest torso so I'm hoping that's why I'm so big already! 16 week apt today and one of my questions is it normal to be so big already? Is it possible you missed one in the 8 week US and baby's not alone in there?
@vrj0522 I've been struggling with this same issue for a couple of weeks. My solution has been dresses. I've really been living in them outside of the house. My normal clothes still, technically, fit. They're tight and uncomfortable, though. The maternity stuff that I've found is is so hit and miss. Most of it I am just drowning in and I can't seem to find any pants that fit my legs that aren't HUGE on my waist.
We are supposed to do an elective ultrasound this morning at 11 with my sister and the place called about 30 mins ago to cancel due to their tech not being available. Thankfully, since I live in a large metro plex, I was able to book another one for the same time at a different location. We are pranking my sister, telling her it's a boy instead of girl, and thankfully the ultrasound tech I talked to this morning thinks it's hilarious and is playing along. She also knocked $20 off the price since she won't really be looking for gender
Eta: family gender reveal is tomorrow and I can't wait to see how my sister reacts when she sees pink instead of blue!
@vrj0522 I've also been living in summer dresses. It is so hot here already that pants are my last choice. I actually picked a few up at Gap that are really flowy. They aren't maternity, but I think I will be able to wear them well in to September. I figure they will be good for next spring when I'm back at work too.
My other favorite thing though is maternity shorts and pants that have the side panel. I absolutely hate full panel because i'm so short-torsoed. The panel basically comes all the way up to my bra and feels like it is suffocating me. I feel like the side panel shorts/pants can be worn earlier because they don't have quite as much stretch. They seem to stay on better. I got mine from Target and Old Navy. I'm trying to not spend anymore money on maternity clothes because we are done after this.
@wannaflickone - do you find that Gap sizes run a little bigger like ON sizes do? I haven't bought anything there in awhile but was looking at a couple of things and I just want to make sure I get the correct sizing.
Me: 38 DH: 36 Married 8/27/2011 BFP #1 9/28/2011 DS born 5/22/2012 BFP #2 4/24/2013 m/c 4/25/2013 at 4w BFP #3 1/31/2014 DD born 10/14/2014 BFP #4 1/20/2016 m/c 2/12/2014 at 7w2d BFP #5 8/19/2016 DS2 born 4/29/2017 BFP #6 3/7/2018 EDD 11/18/2018
@vrj0522 yes, they definitely run bigger. I didn't size up at all in the dresses because I knew they were a style that runs big. I would say sizing is very similar to ON.
Ugh, I didn't have any carbs for my snack this morning and I paid for it. I started feeling crappy vacuuming so I sat down for a few minutes before I thought oh crap I bet my blood sugar is low. It was 47. I thought I was going to pass out on the couch drinking my apple juice. It's super annoying that I have to eat (especially carbs) when I'm not hungry to keep my blood sugar up.

Points for DD telling us when she had to go peepee potty at the aquarium today, and for holding it until we got to a bathroom! But negative points for her not waiting for “mommy’s turn” and literally unlatching the stall door and leaving the stall while my pants are still around my ankles and I’m trying to pee. Ah, the joys of potty training.
Interviewed a daycare yesterday and when we talked about drop offs I started crying out of nowhere. Was not expecting that... Hormones= no control ugh.
@booksandcoffee same! I have cereal every morning because there's no wait time. My poor dog even has to wait to go out (no fence so I watch when he's out) until I have food to open the door. My purse always has snacks these days... My team at work senses my hangry these days. No one bothers me from 11 until after lunch.
@mockingjay1 - I feel your pain! I think the late night snack is the worst for me. I hate eating a snack right before bed.
@middleschoolmommy - how did the prank go? I love that you did it, sounds like fun. Have a wonderful party!
I bought my first maternity pants at Target and couldn't believe how expensive it was! I also got leggings and a belly band. I better start looking at Amazon instead cause the prices are insane. Oh, I also found out this week that we no longer have motherhood maternity. Completely gone! I used to always look at that store when I wasn't pregnant and couldn't wait to shop there. So bummed they've gone. Are they still open in your area? Hope they didn't completely go out of business.
@kamahina9 they closed the physical store in my area too but their stuff is still available online at motherhood.com and they usually have good deals - especially on basic tanks and tees
@middleschoolmommy That is too funny! That's great you got her face on camera. How did you do the pink stuff in the science tube, or whatever you call it? How fun! @kamahina9 Can you order Motherhood Maternity online? I found awesome prices on the sale section of their website. For maternity stuff, you definitely have to shop the sales. Or check out a consignment store for used clothes. I don't usually buy used clothes, but for maternity stuff it works out since you don't really have to wear them for long in the end. @ftm_jen Awww! That is so sweet. FWIW, I never found drop offs with my daughter to be too difficult. It made me feel kind of guilty, but it is what it is.
@ftm_jen I cried in so many daycare parking lots when we started our search for DD. It was incredibly overwhelming. We ended up going with a slightly different type of program (mother’s day out). It was the only one I didn’t cry at and just felt perfect. We have been there ever since. Good luck with your search. It is hard and hormones definitely make it harder!
@middleschoolmommy too funny!! Love your sister's reaction. So great to have it taped to re watch.
@wannaflickone we actually liked the daycare! I've always known it wasn't an option to stay home but maybe the reality sank in at that moment? *Shrug*
@booksandcoffee my husband will be the one doing drop offs which will probably help and I didn't think of that until now! He works locally so we safe a couple hours of day care versus me with my two hour commute (1hr each way).
DH just left with DS to go to the children's museum. I'm exhausted and feel like crap (after effect of working friday night especially since I didn't eat or drink near enough because it was so busy). I also have to edit some more pictures for my friend and I just want to finish and be done with them so I don't feel like it's hanging over my head.

@mockingjay1 That's super sweet of your husband to take your son out of the house so you can get some rest. Your job sounds so difficult! I don't know if I could go that long without eating and drinking. It must be really hard on you.
@kamahina9 - the only Motherhood Maternity left in our area is an outlet store. All the other ones are gone. If you realy want a physical store, you can look up Destination Maternity in you area, which is a sister store and sells Motherhood clothes as well as A Pea in the Pod.
