I'm so sorry. You're stuck with a decision that no one wants to even begin to make with no universal right answer. We're here if you need to talk or work through things or just be a virtual shoulder to cry on. Your right answer may look different than someone else's right answer and that's 100% okay, I hope you don't feel pressured in either direction by those who forget this fact. It's the choice that is best for you and your family and that's what matters.
@angelicmommy I am so sorry you are having to face this. FWIW, I actually grew up with a guy whose mom had this when she was pregnant with his older brother. He was definitely developmentally delayed (like think 5 year old) but he could talk, dress himself, express and receive affection, etc. I think he actually now lives semi-independently in a house with other adults with similar issues.
